Tanya my beloved..the stuff is: Tomalley (from the Carib word tumale, meaning a sauce of lobster liver),[1] crab fat, or lobster paste is the soft, green substance found in the body cavity of lobsters, that fulfills the functions of both the liver and the pancreas. Tomalley is considered a delicacy, and may be eaten alone but is often added to sauces for flavour and as a thickening agent. The term lobster paste or lobster pâté can also be used to indicate a mixture of tomalley and lobster roe. Lobster bisque, lobster stock, and lobster consommé are made using lobster bodies (heads), often including tomalley. I love you both…Granny jo…retired chef/cook/educator

I love this place!!!! My parents live in Charlestown RI and we make a visit once a year. It's sooooo good!!! But you have to have a plan and pace yourself. The first time we went, we glutted out hard and that was a mistake. While the food and service were impeccable, we were too ambitious and totally over did it. We ate too much of everything and didn't feel so great as a result, but regretted nothing. We were not deterred to try again. And try, try we have. The following visit, we paced ourselves. Raw bar first. Oysters and clams on the half shell, shrimp, and a variety of seafood salads (the crawfish salad being my favorite), to name a few. A light and delicious start... Then we get lobsters and crab legs. This is the most time consuming course because of the work involved to get to the good stuff, but it's worth it. Depending on the time of year, sometimes the lobster shells are soft and can be managed almost without needing the shell crackers. Being from New England also helps us navigate our way around these critters, too. Other times. they're super hard and can make a mess and take a lot of time and will to get open. You really have to work to get the meat out, but it's all part of the experience. If the shells are soft, we will sometimes get another. Otherwise... We then head for the grill station. The prime rib will melt in your mouth. Dad and i usually share a slab and it's always just right. You also have the option of the staff further grilling it if medium rare perfection isn't for you. There are also these yummy potato swirl things there that are like a cross between a french fry and a baked potato. We only get a few of these since we want to save room for the good stuff. But i assure you, they're a delight. Next course... Usually, it's anything goes. Maybe another lobster or any of the dozens of other options. Bacon wrapped scallops, ribs, another trip to the raw bar, more crab legs, some beef tips, lobster mac and cheese, endless possibilities. All so yummy!!! After a brief hiatus, comes the salad course, which is usually just that. A bed of salad greens and raw veggies to make us feel a little less gross about all we've already consumed. But also a refreshing break. Ok, last call before dessert if you can believe it. This will be the smallest plate. This is when we have one more portion of that thing we love so much or a sample of that thing we passed but didn't try and couldn't leave without doing so. Now comes dessert and the choices are endless. I always get a scoop of coffee ice cream and a scoop of butter pecan with Reece's pieces and a little whipped cream. They also have these wonderful little dark chocolate cups filled with chocolate mousse which are my favorite thing ever. In addition, there are cakes of every variety, eclairs, lemon bars, fruit. But those little chocolate cups...I love them so!!!! Despite all of these courses, we've conditioned ourselves to not feel ill from over indulgence. I know it sounds like a lot and it is, but if done right, it's fantastic! You have 2 hours of magic to fill. Don't pig out in the first 45 minutes. We don't fool around with the massive baked potatoes that are on offer or the corn on the cob. While i'm certain they're delicious, we go for the good stuff and have never been disappointed. The grounds are also beautiful. Before Covid, they didn't accept reservations. Many a time, we'd arrive, check in and be told the wait would be 30-45 minutes. We'd order a drink, head outside and walk by the pond, listen to live music, play corn hole, look at the horses in their corral or do all of those things. The staff is also always so warm and accommodating. Every experience has been great. It's become a family tradition and can't wait to return!!! If you're in the area and have a big appetite, check it out. It's a great time!!!
This place has been one of my go to's for yrs now. I'm only about an hr. away in Mass and I remember when it was $89 a head. Still, I usually hit this place up a couple times a month each summer. Simply the best.

When heading to a steak and lobster place I go for the lobster. I can eat steak pretty much anywhere but not lobster. I don't think I could eat enough lobster to justify the $125 price but I am willing to give it a try!!! Heck it all looks so good. Definitely want the snow crab legs and that stuffed mushroom and the bacon wrapped scallops and the desserts and so on and so on.
Hey, you're in my neck of the woods! The Nordic is legendary! Man, I need some lobster right now. I'd definitely go for the lobster on the buffet! I can get steak plenty of places, but lobster, especially all-you-can-eat, is harder to find. That cream puff pastry with raspberry is usually called a Bismark. Delicious, and not often found on a buffet. Not to be outdone by the usual clam cakes (and stuffies), it looks like they have lobster fritters?! Upscale Rhode Island stuff, for sure.
Wow Amy! You know your stuff. Every time I watch this video I'm craving some lobster and definitely a few more of those Bismarks. So good. We even took some of those lobster fritters and dunked it in the lobster bisque. Thank for watching. Glad you enjoyed the video. They normally do have King Crab but they said they couldn’t get enough of the quantity they needed for the season and I’m sure the right price! Happy 60th. Hope you get to make it there next year. Thanks for watching!
I visited the buffet. The best place for sea food and more. The price is affordable, well worth the price. The desserts are fresh and delicious. See for yourself 😅

Great video!!!! I love the Nordic Lodge, have been there twice in the past 10 years, live in CA, and want to go back so badly. However, it is very expensive to fly all the way over there just for their lobster when I've got Yaamava in LA and the Palms Casino in Vegas. So, huge question please: do you think the lobster is bigger or better in anyway at Nordic Lodge than those at Yaamava or Palms? I remember the superior fresh meat to be noticeably better, but I think that could be my imagination. Depending on what you say, is whether or not I have to fly back and spend $1k or more, which I really don't want to do. All I care about is the Lobster as Vegas has many places for crab legs, shrimp and oysters. Thank you so much for your help!

one more question please: did the snow crab legs break and reveal the meat real easily or did they get stuck to the shell inside? i like it when you can pull almost all of the meat from the shell. thanks again!
❤❤❤❤ OMG I just had a bowl of cereal for dinner because I’m alone tonight BUT AFTER WATCHING THIS I AM PULLING OUT SOME CRAB LEGS OUT OF MY DEEP FREEZER. When you live in the foothills of N.C and miles from town you learn to stock up your freezer 😂😂😂❤❤❤ LOVE YALL
You 2 are so cute together. I'm having boxed shrimp from the grocery store for dinner tonight then I see this. Wow $125. I bet you got a discount for RUclips coverage.
I'm right next door in Connecticut .I used to love going to RI beaches yet it took almost 1/2 hrs to get there .I'm not a lobster fan or most raw seafood/shellfish .I also don't like steak much. I do like buffets once in awhile ,yet most are expensive .How much can one person eat? $125 a person is very expensive ,and do you feel it was worth it? Yet how often do you do this? I hope you have fun being back in New England.
❤❤❤ I will pick Lobster over steak every time. I grew up in Texas and my standards for a really good steak just can’t seem to be met on any buffet I’ve had.. but I haven’t been to any in Vegas.. yet ❤

Very nice buffet it looks better than the palms and I have not been to the new Palms buffet yet but this one looks a lot better let me ask you guys a question which one is better
Sean, thanks for watching! While we really like the Palms Lobster buffet, it is no comparison to the Nordic, quite frankly. The Nordic uses all fresh lobster and crab, while the Palms ships in pre-cooked frozen lobster. You do pay for the fresh lobster however, $125 vs $65.

Do they not know to take the rubber bands off before cooking
Great buffet. I like both land and sea. I go for both. Would love to visit that buffet one day. I really missed you two.

I have a reoccurring dream about my glasses being broke
LOBATAH ALL THE WAY!!!!!! Massachusetts
You’ve got that right Jan!!
Lobster 🦞🦞🦞 and crab 🦀🦀🦀 legs for sure 😋😋😋
Is this buffet better then the Palms? Which one has better lobster?
Thanks for another great video ❤️❤️❤️
Awesome 👏🏽 Video
Thank you 😁 Really glad you enjoyed it. Every time I watch this I was some damn lobster! YUM YUM GIMME SOME! 😂❤️
This is the ri buffet right? The lobster looks good.
I would have never known this was out there!
one more question please: did the snow crab legs break and reveal the meat real easily or did they get stuck to the shell inside? i like it when you can pull almost all of the meat from the shell. thanks again!
Lobster, seafood all the way. Yummy 😋
both cause they taste great!!!!
We agree, thanks!!
That prime rib looked perfect. But you needed more Au jus.
OMG...We said the same thing. next time I'm drowning the Prime Rib in Au jus. Thanks for watching.
The Rhode Island buffet looks good.
It's really delicious and in our opinion worth the price tag.
I went 5/3/2023. It’s $135 now. It’s fabulous
You 2 are so cute together. I'm having boxed shrimp from the grocery store for dinner tonight then I see this. Wow $125. I bet you got a discount for RUclips coverage.
Thanks Carol. No discount for us. We paid our way for sure! Glad you enjoyed the video and hope you put some good seasoning on those boxed shrimp! 😁
Your yellow pin is still there, I just ate there tonight. There’s two other pins close to your yellow one now.
❤❤❤ I will pick Lobster over steak every time. I grew up in Texas and my standards for a really good steak just can’t seem to be met on any buffet I’ve had.. but I haven’t been to any in Vegas.. yet ❤
The crab legs look excellent
I have to say both I love both. We don't have places that serve all you can eat lobster and prime rib.😔
Thanks Melanie! Yes, all you can eat lobster is not all that common. Where are you from?

Dave needs to find a cheaper buffet so he can spend the savings to get his glasses fixed
Yes those glasses have been through a couple of battles. He has some new ones on the way.
You guys should try the food in Paris France , the food is 11/10
We definitely will. Thank you. Hey be sure to sign up to our newsletter if you're not already, for up-to-date info on adventures and more www.turnitupworld.com/newsletter
Are Dave’s glasses missing an arm?!? 🤣
If travelling with someone that does not like seafood, can they just order from a menu?
Love your videos!!! Lobster wins by me as it’s soo yummy and less filling than steak!!
Thank you Donna. We appreciate that. Lobster for the win! thanks for watching and, Hey be sure to sign up to our newsletter if you're not already, for up-to-date info on adventures and more www.turnitupworld.com/newsletter
I always get a cup of hot water from the coffee station or clam broth. Swirl the lobster around yucky stuff gone.
I love some seafood it look so good.
Hey guys🥰
You always put some fresh lemon in your butter.
I had it for the first time 2 weeks ago and i cant stop thinking about the fresh sweet lobsters 😢
Are there hotel accommodations there?
Dave what happened to your specs?
Lobster is the best food ever
Is it better than Crab House NY which $115 a person all you can eat lobster?
Very nice buffet it looks better than the palms and I have not been to the new Palms buffet yet but this one looks a lot better let me ask you guys a question which one is better
Sean, thanks for watching! While we really like the Palms Lobster buffet, it is no comparison to the Nordic, quite frankly. The Nordic uses all fresh lobster and crab, while the Palms ships in pre-cooked frozen lobster. You do pay for the fresh lobster however, $125 vs $65.
Aww I love you guys
was this a dream
