Unfortunately W10M is dead and in december no more updates, which means changing phone. I have to admit this Nokia 9 PureView is impressing me a lot more than P30 Pro, which was my first choice until 2 days ago. These comparisons litterally shows super detailed shots on Nokia 9. Raws are so much better than jpgs in low light!
Wish the Nokia 9.1 was released soon with improvements on hardware and camera, as old rumors said. But no news so far...

The images in Nokia 9 look more sharp and vibrant, but the optics in the Lumia are far better. You can use image processing to achieve better tones, but the reality of one well made lens is undoubtedly. I've one 1956 Pentax lens and it's quality is better than any of my digital lenses.

Are you out of your mind.The 1020 is a powerhouse and holds up surprisingly well but the Nokia 9 edges out 1020 in detail and color accuracy ,in other sectors they are mostly competitive.

Pictures taken with the Lumia 1020 look more analogue? Less sharpness and fine details, but the kind of smoothness and depth of analogue film.
The N9 jpg has oversharpening, but the raw files are good :) Also appears to be less noise in raw and less chromatic effects.
The nokia 9 is only let down by its JPEG image processing. Being that this a software issue it should be able to corrected if HMD is willing to do this with updates. Fix that issue and you have one of the best phone cams on the market.

My opinion. In daylight, it was a close tie, sometimes N9 beating L1020, sometimes 1020 beating N9. At night, and at zoom, L1020 just blows N9 out of the water! Except, I like dynamic range compression of N9 better, it makes me see stuff that's saturated/pitch black on L1020.

Even though the Nokia 9's shots are better, the Nokia Lumia 1020's shots are certainly no slouch. For a 2013 phone that had a lowly Snapdragon S4 Plus processor, its camera was, and still remains impressive in 2019. 📸⭐
And let's not forget that the 1020 has Xenon flash, something we never see it coming back since the Galaxy K Zoom.

Bueno, Parece que por fin puedo jubilar mi vetusto Nokia Lumia 1020.El mio tenia muchos problemas para enfocar y en muchas ocasiones necesitaba hacer 2 o 3 fotos para que una saliese bien. También con el abandono de wp últimamente se estaba volviendo insufrible, pero como era el que mejor fotos hace , lo seguía usando.
Well, it seems that I can finally retire my old Nokia Lumia 1020. Mine had many problems to focus and many times I needed to make 2 or 3 photos so that one would go well. Also with the abandonment of wp lately it was becoming unbearable, but since it was the best photos, I kept using it.

The results are a bit disappointing. for me, lumia1020 is still king of mobile photography. because with only 1 camera, the result is not much different from nokia9 which has 5 cameras ..
supposedly captured images using nokia9, 5x More beautiful or at least 3x more beautiful than lumia1020. various issues raised by many nokia9 users, especially the 'lag' issues in image processing after being captured by the camera.
& overheat issues ..

this was an epic battle but we have to say,for a phone from 2013 with one sensor that is not even equipped like phone today it has stand up against many to date and still destroyed them,even its successor the nokia 9 pureview.

There is a lot of "photo comparisons" out there with no evidence that its even shot with the phones stated. Since this is taken in Finland I am more intigued to believe its true, but why not just show the phones and how a few of the shots were taken for more credability?

I'm actually amazed at Nokia 9. True it's sharpen. But it's quite capable against 1020. Hoping for a dedicated night mode to take on the other flsghsips as well as better video stabilization.

Why do you lie to your subscribers? It so hard to take good photos on Nokia 9! Yesterday I was using Nokia 9 and it is just disgusting at making photos, only 1 of 10 made photos is so so, others are just trash, unfocused dark unnatural colors so unnatural that human faces are red pumpkins, lol, it is not cameraphone it is just another beta version of lightcamera. And I know what you would say, and the answer is, yes it has the last April's firmware V4.22C that fixed many camera bugs, but it still has so much to fix that I can't call it more than a beta device.

Don't buy any HMD phones! I bought a HMD 7plus a year ago, its charging port stopped working only 8 months later. So I went to a local authorized customer service and they told me there were no spare parts for repairing as lots of people were facing the same issue. I waited for 1 month and they finally replaced the port. At that point, I was thinking, all right, now I can use it for another year without worrying about the port. If you think so, you are wrong. That port they replaced stopped working just 4 months later, and the warranty is now invalid. So Nokia phones only work for 1 year? Well, this is not the Nokia I know. Back to 2012 (forgive me if I remember it wrong), I bought a Lumia820. That phone was my best equipment during the whole 3 years in college. It actually dropped from my room but still worked well. In fact, my grandparents are still using it today (the battery did age a lot ). When I was in postgraduate, I bought a lumia950xl, although that phone was far from a good industrial design, today I still use it as my portable camera. I bought a HMD phone to give it try, now I think both their service and products suck. I strongly recommend any Nokia fans not to buy any HMD phones. Even Nokia just use the design of a lumia830/950xl with android pie, I will still buy it, but I won't give 1 cent to this liar company. HMD is destroying the Nokia phone brand, do not buy it.
"Do not buy it" yeah right. I never faced any problems with my Nokia 6 2017, just the lag because of the SoC. Bought in last year February, dropped many times, now in android pie, still rocking solid.
I'm with u brother. Those lumia phones ruined me for other phones. No phone has better camera or the camera app. No phone is as simple as lumia phones to use. Good old days and I miss them.
