Were this direct jpg shot or raw edited? And just to be sure,no night mode was used for the P30P? I'm amazed if this truly are 9PV native jpg output. Owe Sarvikas an apology.

      I have to admit the Nokia 9 can give some really good details in daylight! The B&W sensors can add some great dynamic range.
      Night and zoom are clearly a defeat for obvious reasons (sensor size, aperture and optical zoom in favor of Huawei).
      The problem is Nokia 9 has still fingerprint issue and some not nice flaws. Also slow image processing. Who owns a Nokia 9 can tell us about software updates and fixes.

    Hmmm. Gotta admit I expected the Nokia 9PV not to be so close to the P30, Actually, it seemed more natural and sharper in many instances. Indeed, there is a lot of hype for the
    I know there is no OIS for the N9PV, which is a bummer but the way the phone was designed it would have been impossible to produce a single picture from a collection of stabilized photos where the lenses would have slight differences of the frame they capture while they are moving because of OIS and the ever so slight movement of hands.
    Kind Request : Always include your shooting modes parameters and the megapixels each phone incorporates on each shot, as well as if you are using tripods or not.

    I never do any detailed review when it comes to this kind of comaprison video. But since these two Android smartphones are currently the hot topic and I have utmost interest with these two, I would make an exception here.
    1:08 I find that the 9PV have a much better colour balance than the P30P. Just look at the pavement behind that Mustang.
    1:38 2:18 2:34 I can definitely can see clearer details on the 9PV.
    1:50 3:29 5:28 The 9PV have cooler and sharper looking photo than the P30P. At 1:50, the P30P photo looked like as if it had applied some red or purple tint.
    2.05 There seems to be no shadow inside the flower on the 9PV photo. But to be honest, I still find the P30P photo still look amazing despite the little shadow. A considerable draw here.
    2:49 The sky looked different. I'm not sure which one I would have. 🤔
    3:02 The colour on the P30P looked more vibrant than the 9PV.
    3:50 4:17 4:31 5:55 6:08 7:52 9:22 The P30P have lower ISO than the 9PV, so that might explain the rather dimmed photo. At 5:55, notice the half circle mirror above the entrance door. At 6:08, notice the vase.
    4:02 8:06 Again, the sky looked different and the 9PV looked cooler than the P30P.
    4:44 Now the 9PV looked dimmer than the P30P, but I noticed that the seeds on the 9PV looked crisper.
    4:59 The P30P looked more exposed, hence the obvious whiteness, but I noticed a starkling difference from the brake lights. Which one looks real? 🤔
    5:14 7:24 The P30P doesn't exhibit too much exposure compared to 9PV. Might be because of its lower ISO.
    5:42 I noticed a different shade of yellow here.
    6:42 6:57 7:10 7:38 8:24 8:37 I'm rather amazed by the sharpness of the 9PV despite the zoom.
    8:52 9:35 It seemed that the P30P have a much cleaner looking photo than the 9PV.

    • @FAT8893
      @FAT8893 5 лет назад +1

      To sum up, both phones performs well. Difficult choice for sure, but I do definitely lean a bit towards the 9PV for its sharpness. That said, there are certain elements that the P30P do better than the 9PV.
      P.S. Is it possible for you to have a shootout between the P30 Pro and the Nokia Lumia 1020?

      Well, wait! A 5X optical zoom is a great thing! If you are a bit far from the object you want to capture, for example a monument or inside a cathedral, you can get a lot of details with such a zoom. It's everything but useless. These shots of Nokia 9 are coming from RAW, I guess, because the jpg out of the box is really bad. I know because I've seen samples in RAW and jpg online, and the difference is noticeable.

    No doubt, that the P30 Pro is a great device, with many nice features.
    Competition brings advancements faster.
    Still, I never would support them, for various reasons.
    One of the problems is that they get the praise they deserve or a little more than that and other brands get underscores and pushed aside.
    HTC and especially LG for instance, has been producing some great phones for years, namely the V20,V30,V40.
    Nokia being a truly beloved brand for what they have given us, many years before anyone could deliver anything close to Nokia's offerings. Hope they will continue to innovate and the next PureView could land on my hands.

    My belief remains that it needs a competent user to bring out the best of what the device is actually capable of producing ?!
    It appears quite some users 'not up to the mark' in knowing how to use it properly so they conclude it's a 'lousy' device ?!
    As far as personal preference goes, i'll certainly select the Nokia 9 PV over these Huawei or Samsung or Apple or Google etc. as i consider the Nokia going the step in a fundamentally different direction with a promising prospect, of course they need to follow up with at least mitigation if not eventual elimination of the negative issues hindering it in terms of the user experience or user friendliness etc.
    As far as branding goes, i have more 'traditional trust' in the Leica, Zeiss & Nokia while i have to consider the Huawei the 'odd one out' !
    Through Leica, Huawei manages to come out with very competent 'camera-in-a-phone's but ultimately i still won't 'trust' Huawei on the same level as a Nokia...whether it be with 5G network or a handphone, so for more 'peace of mind' is also a great reason to settle for the Nokia.

    The reason the Preview got such bad press: Slow camera performance.
    Yeah it takes great photos when the stars align but for day-to-day shots, it's going to lose to iPhones and Huaweis. You have to consider what type of photographer you are to make the best use of the tool at hand. Are you a burst or composed shooter?

  • @hseochin
    @hseochin 4 года назад

    I've recently started using my new Nokia 9PV...initial impressions overall are impressive whether in photo or video.
    My comparison device is my other phone the Huawei P20Pro. The image fusion process in the 9PV (which makes this device unique form ANY other current production camera-centric smartphone ?) results in some obvious lag in overall imaging processing speed but the end results more than 'justify' the delays as far as i'm concerned ! My Huawei captures faster photos but due to the overall less 'accurate' default image i actually waste more time manually editing the initial photo to get closer to what my own eye sees & even then it does not match the 'standard' produced by the 9PV from it's default 'slow' processing ?!
    Of course not every shot should be that satisfying but nevertheless all my initial positive impressions from my own 9PV experiences indicates to me the 9PV is in a different league of camera phone...which may never see another brand trying to produce a similar product due to the departure by the Light company away from smartphone imaging etc.
    Those 'experts' who keep harping on the relatively slow imaging processing speed of the Nokia 9PV are to me like those people blindly complaining of the slow recharging times of EV's versus petrol or diesel fossil vehicles i.e. take too slow to get filled up yet range is still shorter etc. i.e. they trying some apple to orange practically irrelevant comparision ?! Fundamentally different design concepts each have their respective pros & cons so superficial comparisons does NOT mean much ?! As such the Nokia 9PV should be compared to another camera-centric smartphone also with image fusion technology (if any exists around that is) THEN only can conclude if it's relatively faster or slower...otherwise in the meantime, the Nokia 9PV is in a unique class of it's own 'above' (not 'below') in terms of the quality standard of it's imaging output resulting from it's unique method of processing & production !!
    When it comes to video, from my usage of my 9PV as vehicle camcorder to record my road trip videos, i notice the quality of detailing, sharpness overall (whether day or nite) is comparable if not better than my Huawei-Leica device. Low light noise management is far superior than on say the Nokia 8 or 7+ devices, is at least on par with my Huawei device.
    Bottomline for me is the capability to capture photo/video which 'accurately' reflects what my own eyes see i.e. accurate colour, exposure etc. reproduction in which case the 9PV tends to produce better colour accuracy with as good if not better exposure & sharpness than my Huawei P20Pro..done with overall similar levels of 'smoothness' performance in the execution of the video playback.
    Also, so far it appears to me the default Nokia-Zeiss camera app with the 9PV seem less competent in video capture than the Opencam app in that the Opencam app results in more uniformly distributed sharpness resulting in not only better detailing but also more accurate exposure reproduction & management ? As if it appears like the Nokia-Zeiss uses say only 1 camera to take videos while the opencam uses all 5 cameras ?! Whatever the reality behind it, the results of my (still very prelimilary) videos seem to suggest to me i get better videos using Opencam instead of the default Nokia-Zeiss app, with the only advantage of the default app is in the superior audio capture quality using all mics while the 3rd party apps like Opencam use only 2 of the mics ?!? The audio quality when using Ozo audio capable device (which 9PV is) with 3rd party apps like Opencam also (finally) have improved in that those annoying audio distortions (which i experienced with my Nokia 8 & 7+) appear now gone in the 9PV...at least now the audio is basically 'hearable' although of course overall inferior compared to if recorded using Ozo spatial effect of the original Nokia-Zeiss camera app.
    Overall still 'early' into my 'exploration journey' into my Nokia 9 PV yet the experience so far tells me this is indeed a basically 'different' class of device with much un-explored untapped potential waiting to be discovered & put to practical use !

    Yeah! Nokia has great image quality, but... in low light condition it should be better and it's not. What's more, Nokia 9 has a lot of lens but there is no ultra-wide or 2x zoom. We have got 5 lens that provide only quality without any extras. I think we should expect more. For example Pixel 3 has only one len, but it provides also great image quality, lowlight mode (NighSide), awesome image stabilization and SuperZoom thanks to its software.

    in DayLight HDR & Sharpness & Bookeh Mode :- Clearly Nokia 9PV win
    & other stuff P30P win
    thats all my opinion .............
    & Nokia Shots feels like Naturals colour .

    W0w I like the Nokia better overall, and p30 ever so slightly in night shots.
    I am thinking most reviewers just set it to apple google samsung style automode and picks which one looks best after a few shots and forget it and call it a reviewk, without going any deeper in to the manual modes and post processing.

    Yesterday I was using Nokia 9 and it is just disgusting at making photos, only 1 of 10 made photos is so so, others are just trash, unfocused unnatural colors so unnatural that human faces are red pumpkins, lol, it is not cameraphone it is just another beta version of lightcamera. And I know what you would say, and the answer is, yes it has the last April's firmware V4.22C that fixed many camera bugs, but it still has so much to fix that I can't call it more than a beta device.

    There is something wrong with your p30 pro. It does not have the ultra widw angle lens nor the night mode.. You must replace it ;)

      Its kind of cheat because nokia 9 does not have night mode. Auto and auto comparison is fairer

    what are saying Bro!!!!!p30 is a disappointment. ...it's in top of dxo mark ....99% you tubers has gave it the crown of camera sensation of the year...it has 50xxxxxxxxxxxxxx zoom by which you can zoom upto your soul...it can take the picture in pitch black so that u can see inside of a black hole...(its an irony vin diesel did not have it at that time ..if he had he might be able to save his girl friend) .................. what are u saying ?? u may lose your job by saying it....

    • @FAT8893
      @FAT8893 5 лет назад

      I'm not so sure about taking pictures in pitch black. Check the video back at lowlight, and analyze it carefully.

      Liked your sarcasm. Dxomark is shit. But p30 pro deserves to sit at the top spot amongst the phones they reviewed. Atleast they are innovating unlike Samsung and Apple. Nokia 9 gives it a tough fight and even outshines it in some scenarios at near 60% price point

    • @rausyansafwan9720
      @rausyansafwan9720 5 лет назад +1

      Those who trust dxomark are noob . Dxomark only promoted smartphone or camera company who paid them . Those who didnt pay to dxomark would get scores which is even worse than iphone 6. For example nokia 8 who is excellent than iphone 6 but still get lower mark than iphone 6 which is clearly beaten by the mighty lumia 1020. Sony also shares the same fate as the noki smartphone because they didnt paid or bribe dxomark.

    Nokia 9 Pure view is the clear winner in All aspects.
    Camera is better in terms of details in 9Pureview when compared to P30pro.
    SD845 of Nokia 9pureview is almost similar flagship processor (but slightly older) like Huawei's Kirin 980.
    Nokia having pure Android One platform. So it's better than Huawei's EMUI.
    One more very important thing, Nokia 9Pureview is Rs.20000/- cheaper than Huawei P30pro.
    So, Nokia 9Pureview is the clear winner here.

    This compression is nothing but a joke. Obviously, p30p has a better dynamic range and better colors. And the pictures took by Nokia at nite remind me of phones ten years ago. I have to say there is some tiny parts that Nokia may do a better job, but based on this youtubers whole video with biases, I have to say, Nokia 9 pureview is trash

    Omg Nokia wins this one. Day to day normal lighting the Nokia gives great colors and detail is way better than p30pro. Also 2x zoom was so good on Nokia than on p30pro, however the 5x zoom was better on p30pro. P30pro bit better in low light. Portraits no competition Nokia did much better. Nokia also deserves credit for this camera. Huawei p30pro can great on zoom and Huawei didn’t have to lie about the moon mode, they show that if you a liar you remain a liar, it’s not the first time
