I'm tempted to buy one. I've been doing hundreds by hand and got very good! *I hate when customers say,"Do it as if it was your own blade." Why? Because I put way more time and effort on a customers blade than I do for my own. I even give my customers a coat of tremclad.
hey there, thank-you for the info regarding the mulching blades! I have to ask this longshot question...by any chance do you know of any vendors that use the magna-matic to sharpen mulching blades in the Cincinnati area? Thanks again!!!
I never knew about the balancing of mower blades until a week ago. If one side of the blade tilts down while on the balancing tool do you just sharpen that side of the blade more to take more metal off until the weight evens out?
Mr. Mitch could I use hand held grinder to sharpen curved blades? Thanks in advance. I just got one and have like 6 mulching blades that need sharpening any info would be greatly appreciate it.
Hi, can you please tell me what you honestly think of the manga magic blade cleaner. I use mulching blades with the cuts on the wing ends. How does the cleaner work on those, does it do a great job? The 8 brushes; how do they hold up? Cause I believe to replace them would be about 320. Have you replaced the brushes yet and is it a pain to replace them? Any advice would be greatly appreciated….ohhh did you buy the 110 or 220..if 110 does it slow down using it? Regards, Tony
The Mag12008 is an huge asset with my blade sharpening business. I wouldn’t do it without it. I’ve been running it since 2018 and haven’t needed to replace the brushes. All my equipment runs off 110 with no issues
@@grantlauinger8663 the Mag8000 doesn’t leave any burrs. The blades get abused the moment they leave my shop lol most of my clients are swapping out blades every day so I get them back for service frequently. As long as they’re balanced and sharp, they go out the door.
Hello Scott, I’ve never used a RGB system. Based on the research I did before purchasing I chose the system that was best for what I needed. The Mag8000 was the most versatile unit and built to run all day everyday.
My neighbor has the mag 8000 & his half inch wheel on multch set up is wearing out after 3 sets of blades. Do u have any idea what he is doing wrong? Set on 30 degrees.
@@MajorImpact Yes u are correct. When he changed to 30 degrees he had to grind alot of steel off blades. Thats what was eating his stone up. If the angle is already at 30 than u use less passes thru the mag 8000. Love my mag 8000 been using it for 2 years now & still on original stone.
Maybe for your personal blades, not for commercial use. There’s no way I would ever get done with my customers blades hand filing them. And I would have to charge them more than the blades cost new lol
Hello. I currently do not use Jobber Payments. Before I started using Jobber 3 years ago I had most of my clients setup on PayPal and is still what I mainly use today. I have a few customers that pay via free cash app services.
Awesome set up my man! You mustn't have any customers with walkers with the collection decks, with those they have opposite blades so one would sharpen on the right of the machine like you have set up and the other would sharpen on the left of the machine. Just wondering because how you have your 8000 mounted, be tough to sharpen on the left side lol Keep up the great videos.
Thanks for tuning in! I actually sharpen Walker style blades all the time. The Mag8000 is designed to sharpen from both sides. When it’s time for me to service the left side cutting edge of those blades I just pivot the stand 90 degrees and knock them out. Easy!

The first blade you held up with the 3 notches at the one end do you sharpen those

Yes you can use a hand grinder for curved blades
Makes me think of the days using the Dedtru grinder. 👍
I enjoyed video very good and informative.
Thank You
Great video sir! What is a good price to charge for sharpening a set of the curved blades?
I charge $10
So at what degree should we sharping the blades? I here 30 degrees for cutting blade and 15 degree for mulching blade....goes on a Honda mower
30-35 degrees is an industry standard for cutting angles on mower blades

Do you apex the edge or stop short of doing so? If so, by how much?
Yes I do, I make them sharp!
What do you use to deburr them after you apex the edge?

Do you like this better than the rgb wheel?

That is not normal. He needs to contact MagnaMatic customer service. They'll troubleshoot with him and get it worked out.

Hand sharpening is best because you can control how much metal comes off and get longer blade life.

Thanks for sharing the information !
Yea man!

Set a goal and you’ll get there!
@@mithgo_outdoor Thats right !!
OK. 3 minutes in video still not talking about sharpening blades. On to next video.
You do a great job man!
I appreciate that!
Great video sir and information. My question is , on Jobber, do you use their Stripe payment or do you use another payment receiving company?
