@@Josephwilliemrice thanks brother I had to look and verify it’s actually been 10 years since I wrote that. Wow man that was a decade ago and it went by in an instant. This song takes me right back. Music has a way of humbling us.
Wild to think about how fast time has gone, I feel old when I realize that it has been over a decade since some of what I feel are the best songs came out.

When I listened t this song yesterday for the first time, I was the 42nd listener!!! I can't believe how many people have heard it since then! They have been my favorite band for ten years, and I love this song! It is so great to see that Ben Gibbard is clearly so happy!! Best band in the world (in my opinion) is setting themselves up for the best album in the world (also in my opinion)! Death Cab is #1!!!!!!!

How can you NOT like this song? Well, I guess you can't please everyone, but this song is fucking incredible. I like where death cab is going. They're constantly evolving with every album. I especially like the echoes in bens voice when he says "This,fire,grows,higher". It completes the song. Death cab for cutie never dissapoints. So excited for this new album. I hope everyone is too!

Not only is the song awesome, but the recording quality is great too. Lots of cool little background sounds that you can hear if you have decent speakers. I can't wait till I get a vinyl copy so I can hear what it sounds like without RUclips compression.

When I first heard it I didn't pay much attention to the lyrics. Then I gave it another listen and paid closer attention and realized it's documenting my life right now.
This five minutes felt like it took about 2. I mean this in the best possible way. So excited for the new album.
So, I only started listening to Death Cab when I accidentally heard "Talking Like Turnstiles" back in '06. And that was late '06. However, I over time became an immense fan and can now call Facts my favorite album of theirs without a doubt. But even saying that, knowing that I prefer what they've put out before Transatlanticism (even though I do find that and Plans to be pretty great, Narrow Stairs not having many problems), I absolutely adore this song. It's a beautiful new direction for them.

when i first heard this song I immediately began to float and forgot everything I was doing. Now I favor the repeat option on any music player that emits this inviting sound.
I like this song because a) it's a step in a different direction for DCfC and b) Chris Walla does some really different things tonally on the guitar, but he also, in a way, quotes some melodic things that he has done in the past. There are a couple arpeggiating moments that sound like "Styrofoam Plates" and "A Movie Script Ending." I just think that's a really cool way to say 'this is where we're going, this is where we've been.'
I found Death Cab when I was 12 with Plans. To hear new Cab with this style is just nuts. Beyond good.

The sound of his voice and the background music are perfect; they correspond with each other almost too well. The sound that was created here, by this beautiful band, is stunning, surreal, haunting. It awakens my 'soul' (clichè), and restores parts of me that I thought were dead and completely destroyed.
I absolutely love music that makes me /feel/. know what I mean?

I didn't like this song that much the first time I heard it...and then I listened to it again, and I liked it a little more. This is about the third time, and sooner or later, I'm gonna fall in love with it. Oh, how I love Death Cab.
There are a lot of bands that goes mainstream and their music isn't who they are and they lose themselves and what they represent but Death Cab For Cutie has always stayed in their element and stuck to their roots which creates... beautiful music that everybody can relate to...people need to know more about this band so that they will know how real music suppose to sound like and feel like in my opinion
i like this sounds different from their other stuff but i can still tell its them :)

I think it is crazy that a band can consistently put out spectacular albums! Plans, Narrow Stairs and Transatlanticism are 3 of my top 5 albums. Most bands are luck to get 1 album where every song is absolutely amazing but the have 3!
I just heard this song playing at burger king. I had to look it up on RUclips since I couldn't remember the title or the name of the band since I stopped listening to fm radio many years ago. But I always liked this song.

this song made my day....
I've listened to this song like 20 times today, and I'm still not sure whether or not I like it. The riff is very catchy and the song is pleasing to listen to, but the lyrics leave a lot to be desired, especially coming from Death Cab. BG's voice also sounds different. Maybe because he's getting older, maybe they tweaked it in the studio. Either way, I'll listen to it another 20 times, and maybe by then I'll love it, and no matter how I feel, I won't be deterred from buying the album on May 31.
