The soft breaks in their songs provide contrast to the music and also it's part of their unique songwriting.
This was requested by someone on last years livestream. Man it does come at you fast... Sounds like they are in a tube at beginning. But could totally hear this on a sports video game (i could totally hear Grand Turismo using this). Love the double bass! But they have a sound so unique to them! Buried Alive is still my favorite! One of the reasons is because it had that heavy shift at the end!!!!
Side note: got a bruise on my cheek now. Dropped my phone when writing my comment. (What i get for writing at 2:30 in the morning). 😂 🤕

I went to a pretty sick outdoor concert, a7x played there, Alice Cooper, Rob zombie and korn. That was on a Halloween night so that's the perfect lineup.
You guys should check a performance of the concert Live at LBC from A7X, the entire setlist is fire, but i recommend Critical Acclain and Second heart beat, I'd love to see that

I don't think Avenged Sevenfold will ever be a straight forward fast song type of band. Don't think they ever have been. You take the slow away from them and they're no longer Avenged Sevenfold.
Also, considering the song is about doing all the drugs, it's basically just coming down from the high, at least that's how I interpret it. Either way doesn't really matter to me, the way M Shadows sings during the slow parts will always make me love it.

10:53 is a drug trip, lol it happens just like that you are chilling, vibing, flying in your lane and then all of a sudden, as you said, "why are you killing my vibe?" Mood changes in a heartbeat and you start tripping balls in a downward spiral, to the ground, scared and wanting it to end and you know you still have HOURS before slowing down

You guys should totally check out some of Sounding the Seventh Trumpet. It was A7x's first album. It's very different and for a long time I didn't even like it myself but it's been growing on me. I don't really know what is considered the best from that album but I'll suggest An Epic of Time Wasted.

Not sure if you guys take song requests but either way. Avenged sevenfold has a song called eternal rest where in the middle of the song they have this crazy groovy bendy riff and everyone I’ve seen react to the song they go absolutely nuts I think it’s worth checking out if you guys want :)

Happily, none of the listeners called for your head on a spike, Nick, lol, and I have to say I'm in your camp on this one. Especially regarding the slowed down ending. This was a first time listen for me, and I was looking forward to an explosive, "going out with a bang" kind of finish, so I was pretty let down. Terrific song, nonetheless. I do respect Ty's remark about it following the storyline, but sonically it doesn't seem to fit very well. It'll take me another listen or two before I come to a conclusion about the mid-section slow down. Great musicianship, though. I can see why they have a loyal legion of fans.

Honestly, never listened to this group. Heard of them, just never listened. Interesting change up. Kinda weird in the middle of the song. I'm with nick it feels out of place but thats what the artist wanted.
