As part of their 25th Anniversary, HANSON created the "I Was Born" video to commemorate 25 years of living out their dreams.

Yes, real musicians: Singers/Songwriters. I can't stand that most consider them a one-hit wonder and the mention of them just brings them to Mmmmbop (still a great song). Have seen them live a few times. Love it!

I already read somewhere someone saying this should be their new “pride” song. Big guy is God, and turning a butterfly is often used by the lgbt+ community, the message to me here is not to follow him and turn to yourself and your own power, so this doesn’t sit well with me AT ALL and I’m very confused why they would ever add this to their lyric. Can anyone help me make any sense out of it?

Reading the lyrics you wrote down I understand something completely different........
I think they wanted to mention that God will come to save us from the bad in this world when they least expect it......
The butterfly I think it is added because it is so small and sensitive and pure.......,
but one flap of her wings can turn the whole world upside down.......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And the sting is referring to God that even if he is so loving and so good....., sometimes he has to be firm too.......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our boys have done it again. Never "conformed", never caved, just did what they believed in and they deserve respect for that. It's so rare today to just have good, clean music. And Hanson has always done it that way.

They came back to Mexico in 2017 at Plaza Condesa hall and I was delighted with their show, song after song, very energetic, enthusiastic and that beautiful music they do... Ahhhh! A great show!!! ❤️

I knew when I took my kids to see them live back in the Mmm Bop days, that this was not just another boy band.They're the real deal--gifted, top-level artists. I love the message, the song, the kids, all of it. Wonderful!
I remember Hanson from back in the 90's and remembered they were also from Oklahoma so when I had a business trip scheduled to Milwaukee during the Summerfest music festival I stopped by their concert and was amazed at what great musicians and singers these guys are, they performed this song and it sure beats the hell out of the crap on the radio these days. Good job guys stay true to your Oklahoma roots.....

I smiled for whole 3 minutes. This is the simplest and most beautiful thing I've ever seen. During the music video the feeling of "wow, times passes by so fast" grew from the beginning until the end. Feels like yesterday when me and them were kids and now they raised their own kids. Wow. Hanson is the proof that talent never ends. Every comeback is amazing. I'm never disappointed. I feel blessed for living at the same time as them and being able to appreciate their existence as artists, dads, husbands and people in general. I'll be eternally in love with them. Such amazing people!

Hanson prove you can be successful and happy without being all over the mainstream and literally selling your soul. That is if you have 'real' talent of course. Which they do! Im the same age as Taylor. Grew up in the era of MmmBop and so great to see all three with families and still doing what they love and doing it really well! Such an inspiration.
This is amazing song my daughter is going though some bad time with bullying at school. I was playing this and she sat listen to the song and she been playing this in her room. I love this. I am from a suburb of Tulsa and now live in NYC. I remember these brothers when they were kids. I hate pop music, but I love this. Their kids are so perfectly cute. An anthem for a period of total unrest. Love it. Love them.

I show my class their Mmbop hit when Hanson were kids, then show the kids Hanson doing it live as adults. Now I can show Hanson doing a song with their own kids. Full circle of inspiration!!!!! They are underrated and I feel they are judged on the teen hysteria from the 90s and not fully appreciated for what awesome music they make, how hard they work and what awesome fun people they are! This song is such a good song for when you are having a hard time. I’m from Dawson Springs Kentucky which got hit really bad by those tornadoes a couple of weeks ago. I’m lucky because I had moved from that area a while back but I lost family to that storm and some of my cousins are now homeless... I can’t do anything to help my friends and family in there but this song helps me feel better.

I listened to mmmbop with my kids on repeat when they were little- I'm now listening to "I Was Born" with my grandson on repeat. I told him it was his theme song. He has taken it to heart. He tells his stuffed animals, (and everyone else...) "This is my theme song-I was born to be someone, go somewhere and do something..."
