I'm currently learning to play this as it has a bit of everything and is a great tune. I've never had the chance to join in on a jam (don't have the repertoire yet and none where I live). Why do you say it's a jam killer?
Good question. Songs that are good to call off at jams are ones that follow common structures, so that those who've never heard the tune before can follow along. The average fiddle tune just has parts A and B, this has four parts and people find it difficult as to how to fit in those two extra beats, so it's a very difficult song to follow if you don't know it.
