Thank you. I am dyslexic and numerically too. I prefer not to deal with measurements at times when another more obvious procedure will get me the result I want
Thank you for the comment,. You are right, I have made many sets of curtains using bed sheets for the lining. I have had people ask me to make bedding out of curtains too. It is all about repurposing what we have and keeping it out of landfills, Good luck with your projects.
Thank you for your comment. Little Girl joins me quite often when I am working on projects and slows up production when she curls up on things. Not sure why she has such authority in this house. Good luck with your project
I'm trying to understand how you put together the bottom of the curtain and the bottom of the lining. I see each are stitched separate. Do you tack them to each other somehow? or does the side seams keep them in place? Also do you use curtain weights?
Thank you for the question. For these, I sewed the hems on each length of fabric. then place the lining on top of the face fabric about an inch higher so the lining won't show. Then folded the side hems in, pinned, and machine sewed them in place, this holds everything together. Then you can treat them as one piece of fabric for the rest of the process. Sometimes I do, but for machine-sewn curtains, I do not bother. I hope this helps and good luck with your project
Thank you for your question, if you are not nosey you don't get the information you require. The fabric was provided by my friend, it was a glazed cotton and I seem to remember it was a Waverly fabric. I do not know how long she had the fabric before getting this project done. I suggest going on to the Waverly website and looking, as they might still stock it. I have friends that go onto eBay and often pick up some older fabrics from there. Good luck with your fabric hunting and also with your project.
Thank you for the question. I do not pre-wash any fabrics for curtains/blinds or header treatments. No point in making more work for yourself than needed. The only time I pre-wash fabric is for quilting and sometimes when making clothes if I know the fabric will shrink. In most other applications I just use the fabric as is. Good luck with your project.
I love your tricks for measuring without a ruler! My approach whenever I can.

Working on a budget, a good hack is to find white cotton flat sheets at thrift stores and use for lining fabric.

I love your assistant 😍
Thank you. She keeps me company sometimes and is so inquisitive, I find her wrapped up in all sorts of things.
The cat makes this video that much better

Hi can I be nosey and ask what type of fabric this is? I'd like to try using that for curtains for my kitchen thanks! X

Do you prewash blackout fabric? Thanks!

Still a bit confusing...
Thank you for your statement. What part is confusing? I might be able to help.
