      When I first started shooting street it was the exact same for me! Took about 6 years to get to this level, and I still know I have much further to go! Keep at it, and thanks very much 🙂

    I wondered why you were shooting B/W. Great Video .

    Really awesome. So the airport xrays don't mess with B&W film as much? I have a trip coming up and really wanted to bring my m2 with me, but i am so scared of the xray machines.

    • @pushingfilm
      @pushingfilm  Год назад +1

      That's what I've heard and experienced myself! All the HP5 from this trip went through 4-5 X-rays, for example. However, with these things there are many variables. Most importantly, never check in your film, avoid CT scanners, and less passes is better... so, it's still worth asking for a hand check (if you can be bothered) or finding other ways to avoid X-rays. This can mean buying and/or developing your film while at a destination country.

    What kind of modifications did you made to your M-A? The film advance lever is somehow different, right? And there is a kind of knob on the front side at the range finder window. Or am I wrong (sometimes hard to see in your video)?

    • @pushingfilm
      @pushingfilm  Год назад

      Yep, I bought it with a swapped M4/6 style advance lever, and later added the rewind attachment for convenience and speed.

      Thanks! For sure, they're a great option. Not much difference to the M4 or even M-A for that matter

    Great video - as usual.
    I think the strategy of doing analog in black&white and color with a digital camera is something that will establish itself over time by the dictate of economy. Unfortunately. As someone who religiously photographs on color negative and color positive film, it's a hurtful admission.
    Say, I got one question though of a more technical (gear) nature - if you don't mind: it seems you're using the DJI Action 2 looking at that mount on you chest. Is that a mount that allows you to securely mount the camera plus power module or just the camera? When filming your POV videos, what settings do you shoot in to maximize recording time, trading off quality versus the overheating issues, battery constraints and storage constraints? Thanks!

    • @pushingfilm
      @pushingfilm  Год назад +1

      Definitely is a good way to go! Yep, I use the DJI Action 2 with the magnetic lanyard. You can mount it with the power module attached, although it starts to feel a bit heavier and slightly less secure (I've jumped up and down lightly to test it, and it and it didn't drop off) In saying that, I mostly use the camera unit alone for POV, since it's light and discrete. I then attach it to the power module during longer breaks or when doing self-facing talking bits to let it charge... and on some occasions transfer to the SD if the internal is getting full. For the shorter burst-style shooting of my POV's this works well. I use 2.5K recording most the time with 25 fps. Edit- I got mine with the magnetic protection case thingy as a freebie and I've never had an overheating issue even with 4K and longer recordings. Would definitely recommend that too for a bit of bump and scratch protection. The biggest compromise compared to my previous GoPro is probably the built-in battery life and unique storage configuration. But, overall it's still way better for my type of usage.

      @@pushingfilm Thanks! With the price dropped on the Action 2, I will probably pick one up.
      Do you ever mess with optional ND filters on it?

    • @pushingfilm
      @pushingfilm  Год назад +1

      @@weisserth Nice, they've been going for really good prices lately. I researched this, but decided against them since they mess with stabilisation which was more important to me than a smooth motion (Most action cameras need the high shutter speeds for stabilisation to work well)

    Colour would be too hard. The scene is overwhelming, it would be hard to compose and give attention to your subject without the colours being distracting. Though slide would be tempting, I think it pairs well with darker skin tones as well. Nice shots, did you manage to return to this spot while you where there?

    • @pushingfilm

      I did briefly! This session was the most productive though :-)
