And once again, thank you Scott for visiting (or accepting the invitation to) my city! This video is also how I discovered the Lumos E-bike helmet! That's also how it gave me the idea to finally use a clear, waterproof shower cap under or over my helmet whenever it rains out since regular external helmet covers would obscure the lights of the helmet! Without this video, I would've been stuck to my old, rigid idea of finding a specific, often undesirable helmet to fit bike lights into just to be compatible with an external bike helmet rain cover that does not interfere with them! Thank you so much for unintentionally opening my mind and the Lumos E-bike helmet will come ala carte with my Velotric Summit 1 this coming winter!
@@iscootct Amazing! I improvised my Giro Radix helmet out with a strip headlight and 3 taillights so it works just as great minus the turn signals! Would probably get one when I buy my Velotric Summit 1 but the downside is it does not have full face helmet protection. However, the turn signals would be invaluable for night winter riding!
Howdy Scott, Nice, you went to New York to check out Velotric's media event. They do make a good product and care about what their customers and future customers want. That's a cool and functional helmet too. Great safety features and built stronger for ebike use too. That custom helmet for your wife looks awesome! Thanks for letting us see how cool and informative this Velotric media event was. Really liked the demonstration of their batteries and to see their battery technology up close. Take care and enjoy the ride 🚲------Steve.
@@scotthardesty I have the front basket on yes! But shockingly I don’t even use the front baskets much or as much as I thought I do have a flat rack on the back so I can use the back pretty good since it holds more weight of course. Sometimes I forget how much or if I have anything with me because it holds weight so well. I have another e-bike and it’s a Fuji e-bike traverse and you can tell when anything is on there luggage wise
Hello and thank-you Scott for this video. I have the discover 2 now for about 3 weeks, I am in Canada and I must say, I really love my bike and seeing your video just confirmed that I did the right choice! This bike is amazing! Thanks again for posting! When will the helmet be available in Canada, also at 199$ us, it is quite expensive here in Canada with the exchange, they should do a special at 199$ Canadian!
Holy shit! You were in my city?! Unbelievable! The event would've been a literal scooter ride away for me! This is where I will purchase my very first e-bike aka the Velotric Summit 1! Their dealers here better be good... I hope you read my comment on your latest Velotric Summit 1 video. That was case and point as to why storage is so crucial for the Velotric Summit 1's specs compared to Aventon Aventure 2's for living in a tight apartment...event
I did see your comment. I've been gone all week and haven't answered it yet. but yes, you are correct, being able to remove the front tire quickly would help with storage. The A2 is not near as neat/clean of a setup when it comes to removing the front wheel.
I have not looked at the price of these yet because right after this trip to NY I flew to Utah to go backpacking with my buddies for a week. I will do a review on the helmets soon.

I never thought about using a shower cap under my helmet. Look at us! Opening each others eyes to new ideas! You will love your Summit 1!
02:40 I have the Lumos helmet. It is a great product and the lights are very bright.

I love my go 1. Velotric is a very good company. I use my go 1 for door dashing and working outside at my 9-5 groceries and more.
Do you have the baskets on the front and rear? With those, I can see how door dashing would be a breeze. Even with just the rear basket on there.

Thanks for watching. I think the Discover 2 is the best commuter ebike this year. Hopefully Lumos sees this comment and takes you up on that idea.

I know! Why wasn't there a Scott H meet and greet. We could have brought him to all the "non-tourist" spots.

Would love to see lithium iron phosphate battery chemistry for safety and more charge cycles. Also faster charging would be fantastic.
I bet that is coming in the near future for ebikes. They only get better every year.
Safety helmet with all the lights seems is great, But I bet the cost is high.. Yes, I have an Android phone

Hi
Hello.
There's too much sanctuary in New York, You couldn't pay me enough to go there
Good thing they invited me instead.
@@scotthardesty yes it is
Why couldn't they have made the helmet with two way communication like the Sena helmet's. I would have purchased them immediately.
Not sure how heavy that would make this helmet. Since this is their generation 1 version of this helmet, maybe the 2nd version will have it.
