I know the girl who voiced Edith (Dana Gaier). We did a few shows together in community theater in New Jersey not long before she was cast in Despicable Me. Great talent and a total sweetheart. You just knew that she would make it in show business.
Such a great film. The first two Despicable Me was a breath of fresh air, absolutely hilarious, fun and fresh, and the film that shot Illumination to the animated studios upper rank. Sure, most of their films after would be mediocre at best, but their first try, is an absolute gem.

Despicable Me 2 is kinda mid honestly, they started to overuse the minions instead of telling a good story

The anti gravity drink and the Minion floating away screaming, with Nefario saying calmly "I meant to close that. He'll be alright, I'm sure..." LMFAO!
I've never heard anyone talk about this but the drawing style for many of the characters seems heavily influenced by comic artists. Doctor Nefario seems heavily influenced by the cartoon stylings of Don Martin of Mad Magazine. The bank boss is clearly related to the "pointy haired" boss, from Dilbert.
The woman from the orphanage is clearly Dolores Umbridge from Harry Potter
I’m not even joking about this, but when I was in physics class in high school.
I actually used Victors/Vectors quote about direction and Magnitude to remember the meanings for tests.
We were on a topic which involved vector and scalar quantities, such as the difference between speed and velocity. Speed is a scalar (meaning it only has a number to define it)
Where as, velocity is a vector quantity (meaning it has a number quantity but also a direction value.
It was definitely a weird way to remember it, but it worked 😅😂
My 11th grade physics teacher used vector the character and vector cereal as a joke when he was first explaining vectors
This is such a fun film and I really enjoy Gru’s evolution in the film that he originally wanted to steal the moon to become the greatest villain once again and decided to hire the girls just for his own selfish reasons. Eventually Gru starts to warm up to the orphaned girls and eventually become their adoptive father. Without a doubt Illumination’s best film.
Hopefully you get to react to the rest of the _Despicable Me/Minions_ films along with the Oceans films (Ocean’s 12-13) because I noticed that outside of the _Kingsmen, Cars_ and _Lord of the Rings_ film reactions somehow you only reacted to the first installments of _Rush Hour, Rocky, Creed, Night of the Museum_ and _Madagascar_ respectively but not the rest of the sequels following your reaction of the first film.
In addition, I also hope you react to the Jurassic Park/Jurassic World films along with reacting to _Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole_ 🦖🦕🦉
perfect first film honestly. and soundtrack is phenomenal. Pharrell as he always does kills it with the production.
Saw this in theaters with my dad in 2010. I enjoyed it the first time I've seen it and I love the sequel even more because those movies show the importance of families. Great choice Angelina; hope you have a great day today.

This movie isn't in my top ten animated movies, but it is probably in my top 20. I love it quite a bit. One of the things that always warms my heart (besides the unicorn being so fluffy), is that he doesn't do the cartoon trope of smashing the piggy bank to get the coins inside. He opens it like a normal person would. That didn't happen much outside of this movie. Especially in the 70s and 80s when I was growing up watching cartoons.
When Gru was a villian when he said that if he steel the moon he would be the greatest criminal mind ever kind of reminds me so much of lex luthor.

IMO I really love the series the hate it gets for the minions is really overstated and even then I’m pretty sure Universal would wanna have a mascot that everyone knows
Now you must watch 'Megamind'. It came out the same time this did but because of a weird feud between fans of this movie and Megamind (basically people heard there was a character named 'Minion' in Megamind and *assumed* that it was just a rip off of Despicable Me without actually looking into it and boycotted Megamind. It was really really stupid but it caused Megamind to flop at the box office with it only becoming a popular movie later)

I Loved this commentary I've watching all minions media since i was a kid its such a great franchise i remember the fart spray toy gun it was hilarious and there was a minions rise of gru that came out last year which I def recommend its really good and pretty similar to the despicable me movie series
You know what they say about changing dreams: legacies change, people change. That was from when tony stark escaped from Afghanistan and came back to the US after he used the Mk 1 back on iron man, which is also a game as well. I'm considered an original by popular demand, so I'll let someone else do database entries on anyone or anything, although I'm more of a mystery than meets the eye, so I can be more heroic or villainous, depending on who is around. It's like I'm the Super-Skrull, but a human version and none of the powers of the the fantastic one

15:21 Despicable Me came out in 2010, and in this shot you can see the design on Margo's shirt. It's the Lorax! Universal would release the meme-goldmine movie "The Lorax" in 2012! In the second movie, her shirt has Wangan-Kun from "Bayside Shakedown" on it, and in the third movie her shirt has the Grinch on it, not long before Universal released "The Grinch."

Never thought of the if the pyramid would be discovered if it became overcast or at night. My theory would be that he have a spray painting system that quicky recolors the pyramid when it needs to, so it will stay hidden.

It’s called The Adventures Of Tintin (2011), it’s a motion capture adventure movie about a young journalist, his dog and a drunken sailor who try to find an old pirate treasure. It’s directed Steven Spielberg (JAWS), produced by Peter Jackson (LOTR) and co written by Edgar Wright (Baby Driver). It’s a similar animation style to The Polar Express. It’s also stars Jamie Bell, Andy Serkis, Daniel Craig, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.

DM1 and 2 are both amazing. DM3 and Minions I don't mind, but they are definitely a step down. Still worth watching once, IMO.
For future animated reactions..... either "Kubo and the Two Strings" or perhaps Dreamworks "Home" with Jim Parson and Rihanna.
There are 3 Despicable Me films and 2 Minions films. All of them are entertaining and fun.

Originally the Minions where meant to be human henchmen but since Illumination at the time was a rather small animation studio, they didn't have the budget to do hundreds (or thousands) of henchmen, so they made them small and pillshaped. Good thing that this budget restriction happen cuz it created such loveable, funny goofballs they are today. If they were human henchmen, they wouldn't be as popular, funny or endearing as they are as Minions.

The Minion who put the Dance Recitial ticket in Gru's pocket was Kevin. It's not the same Kevin as in DM2 or Minions but consindering how many MInions Gru have, it wouldn't surprise me if at least two have the same name. In the Biggest Loser promo for the film, there's a one-eyed Minion named Dave and in film 2, Agnes have drawn on the driveway a picture of that Dave.

The Minions, are slightly more intelligent version of the "Raving Rabbids", they also have an obsession with the moon in their TV series "Rabbids Invasion". I still want to see a crossover movie with both groups battling each other.

Please watch the Obi-Wan series (6 ep). It takes place after Episode 3 and has a bunch of great stuff in it. Also....U should watch Solo: A Star Wars Story. It's an under appreciated movie. I can say no more, please watch them both if u loved the Star Wars u have seen so far.
