I was really surprised that Madagascar trilogy is considered a B movie by many people in America, because growing up - this trilogy was as iconic to me as Shrek and Kung-Fu Panda.
The use of "What A Wonderful World" is so perfect here, and just one of many reasons that this movie is comedy gold! Other reasons include the Penguins, King Julien, and Nana beating up Alex.
By far one of the most entertaining animated comedies DreamWorks has created from its stellar voice cast consisting of Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer, Jada Pinkett Smith, Sacha Baron Cohen, Cedric the Entertainer and Andy Richter, the animation and it’s comedy ("Oh Sugar Honey Iced Tea"), but the penguins were hands down the highlight of the entire film especially their catchphrase of _"Just Smile and Wave Boys. Smile and Wave."_ Easily what I love about DreamWorks Animation especially in their earlier CG animated movies and their more recent films is that they’re willing to go out of the box with their character designs and animation and each of their movies such as the _Shrek_ films, The _Madagascar_ films, The _How to Train Your Dragon_ films, the _Kung Fu Panda_ movies as well as _Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, The Bad Guys,_ and the upcoming _Ruby Gillman_ just show how creative they change their animation styles and character designs in each movie. Looking forward to your reactions to the next two Madagascar films and it’s spin-off _The Penguins of Madagascar_ and hope you get to react to _The Bad Guys._

Ya know the great thing about movies like this is they probably never even saw each other until they had to talk about the film in person lol usually actors record separately unless they’re doing a musical piece like Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi did for Tangled. I never really thought another Madagascar was going to happen after it’s last installment but you never know

Destiny 2 light fall had this issue with the writing where it sounds like the people speaking are in entirely separate scenes even tho their lines are going back to back

There is in fact 2 sequels. The second one is my personal favorite one. The third is the one I liked the least, but the humor is still good. Also, if you loved the penguins, there's a whole show that was actually pretty good and a movie as well

When an animal goes a long time without eating, the hunting instincts tend to work even more aggressively In Alex's case, he's a captive-raised animal, which means he's never been hungry or had to hunt, so his instincts were not only heightened by him being hungry, but also by this being his first time hunting, which, as the film showed, was so intense that he even started to hallucinate
theres a lot of cool details in the movie itself, for example when they are in the island Martin gives everyone seaweed to eat, which works for him melman and gloria because all three are plant eating animals but alex thinks is disgusting because hes the only big predator of the group
The part where Alex is kneeling in front of the destroyed statue of Liberty and yelling, "You maniacs! You blew it up! Darn you! Darn you all up heck!" is a reference to the ending of the 1968 Planet of the Apes movie.
All the Madagascars are pretty good and would love to see your reaction to them. And the Penguins have their own movie which is definitely worth the watch.
Other two Madagascars are definitely worth checking out, the second is my particular favorite of the trilogy. There's also a spinoff movie about just the penguins, so that's another thing to watch
This movie is chock full of references that (at the time) only adults would get. Saturday Night Fever (Marty strutting to "Stayin' Alive"), the original Planet of the Apes ("Darn you all to Heck!"), The Twilight Zone ("It's a cookbook!"), American Beauty (Alex's steak dream) and more. It's to the point that Sasha Baron Cohen is better known for "I Like to Move It" than The Mad Stuntman
There's a bonus episode in the DvD where the penguins take on the old lady & her little monster of a dog to get a gift for a polar bear at Christmas. Loved it, was like free DLC... Also Tom McGrath (director) was Skipper

And as a Native woman of Madagascar, I can tell they really respect all the plants and trees of the island. King Julian is a lemur cata (or maki cata) more precisely and that's the most famous lemur. I have one as stuffed animal. Maurice is an Aye-Aye, another tyoe of lemur but who's synonym of bad luck according the superstitions
My dad grew up in Madagascar And had two pet lemurs one ringtail like Julian and one mouse like mort. He used to hide up lychee trees with them from my grandad and the occasional Fossa that made it into the grounds 😂

Madagascar is the only place in the world where u can find lemurs, over 100 different species of lemurs to be specific, it’s also the only place where you can find the main predator of lemurs the fossa, they are specially evolved for eating lemurs, they aren’t cats but they are very closely related to them

You watching my favourite childhood movie just made my day! Such a good film and you're hilarious as always!❤❤ Also I hope you watch the other films because this trilogy is soooo go. Alex especially is such a good character and his growth especially is so good. The third film is iconic and just so beautifully animated.
