I feel super embarrassed whenever I say this but I’d honestly say that the Minions (and Gru when he’s a villain) are my favorite part about this franchise. Like I have the original Minions movie in C tier alone because I just really like the rapport that Kevin, Stuart, and Bob have with each other, plus their individual personalities are kind of enjoyable too. And honestly I just really love their relationship with Gru and how it shows that they were kind of the family he needed growing up, while the girls were the family he needed as an adult. Makes their interactions in the Despicable movies feel that much more heartwarming, which is exactly what a prequel should accomplish.

Wait, aren't the minions like 4 billion years old. Since they seem to have physically evolved without dying since the start of their existence (the current minions that are with Gru are the same minions from the start of the minions movie). That means they're potentially some of the oldest characters in fiction. Yet they still act stupid even with all the knowledge of the world that they've obtained.

Despicable Me 4 was actually lowkey disappointing, they advertised the Mega Minions LIKE HELL and then they got like, 10 minutes of screen time, they had so much potential but literally did nothing :/ (Great video btw)

i'm honestly getting tired of fourth installments in animated movie franchises. it seems like since the success of toy story 4 back in 2019 these other animation studios have been pumping out fourth installments in some of their franchises. hotel transylvania 4, kung fu panda 4, and now despicable me 4. its time to stop this trend already.

Why is Despicable Me 4 getting so much hate? I think the movie is better then the 3rd one. I think the characters are great and the plot is decent. All the actors get my respect. And the ending... is the best thing ever. If you hate this movie..... Fight me.

I really loved what Minions 2: The Rise Of Gru did for Gru’s character with him developing a friendship with his Supervillain idol Wild Knuckles and how he would plant the seeds for how Gru would refine his craft for villainy later on in his life>3 which you forgot to bring up when discussing Rise Of Gru in your ranking!:< I be mean you did kind of but you were talking about it more in the sense of how it refined Gru’s point of view of the Minions perspective and how it showed him how the Minions feel serving for him but in my opinion the Gru X Wild Kunckles friendship when discussing Rise Of Gru cannot be ignored!
1 thing I would’ve liked to see from Rise Of Gru is: what motivated Gru to pursue becoming a Supervillain? What got him fascinated with evil and aspiring to become 1 of the most ruthless Supervillains to ever live?! What made him become a super fan of The Vicious Six?! That’s 1 question I really wanted to see answered in the Minions movies but we never got anything of sorts!:<
when Minions 3 inevitably becomes a reality I wouldn’t mind a return to child Gru and his early Villain in training antics but if I was in charge of Minions 3: I’d have the film set during Gru’s teenhood-young adulthood years in his life (around Gru when he would’ve been 15-30 at the time) when he would’ve first entered the territory of becoming more of a proper Supervillain, no longer seen as the juvenile jokester just pulling pranks and petty crimes and being seen as a lunatic laughing stock by those around him, Gru was going into the big leagues of the Supervillains that came before him! A fresh young criminal part of a new generation of scum and Villainy! The film would take place not long after Gru’s first handful of big heists and crimes he had done so far and he would get accepted for 1 of the biggest missions of his whole career up to this point! Likely tagging along with another group of Supervillains entering the world of crime and villainy part of his generation just like himself:3 I’d imagine Gru at this point wouldn’t be quite as well experienced as we see him in the Despicable Me films! Sure he would have made some successful heists early on but he didn’t fully grasp the ropes just yet likely resulting in Gru messing up on the mission and causing his team to see him in somewhat of a bad light, but out of all of them there would be 1 teammate that would stand up for Gru and be able to relate to Gru in his/or her own inexperience’s with being a Supervillain likely forming an unlikely friendship and even sidekick after they would leave the team believing that they were far better than anyone else from their group, as far as the rest of the film would go I honestly don’t know just yet but I really like this potential Minions 3 concept:3 maybe at the end of it I’d have a scene where Vector steals the pyramid in the present day perfectly tying the film’s ending before the beginning of Despicable Me 1.

The most nostalgic ones for me are Despicable Me 2 and Minions. I don’t care if people find then annoying, but the 2015 was hilarious to me back then and I still think it’s fairly funny now. The first Despicable Me is also good, and I quite liked Rise of Gru. I’m not massive on the third one, but I’ll probably grow to like it more as time goes on.

Downs:
-The story is too.. normal? the plot doesn't really makes sense
-The mega minions could've been a GREAT hero, but.. they're kinda useless, we need a redemption arc
-The maxime le mal fight scene, maxime le mal is kinda weak

It was a great movie with funny and emotional scenes and the song at the end was really nice and to see all the old villains watching them sing it was good aswell the song was nice for older audiences who can relate with the song and enjoy the movie

I honestly don’t care about the villains or the plot or anything (except vector) I only really care about the minions and whether or not they make me laugh. Despicable me 4 accomplished that in my opinion 😀
I think that's the main goal of the films, just to entertain. It's just a family film and there isn't much emphasis on deep stories and well-written villains. I can understand not liking the film that much if that's what's most important to you. But the film is very good at what I think it's supposed to be: entertaining. That's exactly what the Minions are for. They don't have a big impact on the story, but they make the film funny. Of course you have to like the humor, but if you're into "the dumber the better" this is just the thing. Personally, I also thought the film was very good.

Fun fact I was a little traumatized abt the song at the end since I’m a survivor of gen a&y brainrot (the reason why gen y (millennials) has brainrot it’s because of green screen adults) yes I feel traumatized abt skibidi toilet since I’m a survivor of its brainrot wave. Loved the rankings you went for, I feel like there’s 2 camps of Despicable Me fans for Despicable Me 3: the fans that don’t like 3 and believe it did a de-service to the series and prefer Despicable Me 2 instead, and the fans that actually support Despicable Me 3 and what it did for the series, I fall into the camp of people who actually enjoy Despicable Me 3 I think they handled Gru reuniting with Dru after several years apart from each other that was nice:3 and the Minions getting thrown in prison, absolutely owning it and then breaking out was just perfect>3 and this last point really more so applies to all the Despicable Me/Minons movies rather than just 3 but I don’t think the main villains in this series need to be complex! This series is just wants to have fun and embrace its own absurdity! Sure a bit more depth would’ve been nice but it doesn’t detract from the enjoyment for me whatsoever!:~ to me I’ve always viewed the world of Despicable Me as kinda a bit of a reverse MHA but instead of civilian Super Heroes with just about any kind of Super Power you could think imagine, it’s civilian Super Villains that while don’t have any “supernatural superpowers” aka: nothing that came about via any kind of superhuman’s from another planet or some kind of genetic mutation from who knows where! Or even any kind of in-universe mysticism! As far we know of:/ they have more of “artificial superpowers” that they created themselves from the ground up wether it be in the form of lab experiments via stuff like the PX-41 serum or the pods that transformed the Mega Minions to gadgets and other contraptions like Gru’s Freeze Ray or the Shrink Ray or Lucy’s Lipstick Taser basically more like simplified Batman or Spider-Man Villains (anybody other than Venom cause he’s not an artificial experiment made by humanity but instead an alien from another planet so yeah he doesn’t count!) in a sense since they most of them all started their Super Villain careers via artificial means which means they all into the category of “Artificial Superpower Villains” where their powers came from a being a lot more based in realism and whatnot as a posed to being more supernatural in a sense ya know what I mean? I really don’t know how to describe this point but this is how I like to view the World of Despicable Me:3

I’m sorry, but it’s not terrible. The ending scene is insanely good. I think it’s them saying hey we’re almost done with the franchise for we are done with the franchise and brought all the villains back and it would’ve been so cool and also another fun fact that the original script was going to be all over the villains and Maxine teaming up against go against Gru I don’t need there. I think the last number is really good.
