    cpu and ram speed are much more important for tarkov. ddr5 6000mhz+ ram makes a big difference

    You could just pushed the clocks on the undervolt settings aswell. I run my RTX4080 undervolted and overclocked. Less powerdraw and more performance :)

      2700mhz at 0.975 was the max stable for this game, settings + recording.
      I've tried to get around 2800mhz atleast but to much voltage was required to call it an undervolt.

      @@wildgg Okay then I got lucky, I'm able to hit 2900MHz at that voltage. But my card is in a custom waterloop.

    OG 4080 is just perfect on balance, on ghost of tsushima on high, 4K and DLSS on quality, the gpu is on 99% of load, and am getting 55-58°C, this coolers are way oversized, but i´ve never had that thermal behavior on any other gpu on the past, it´s awesome when you think about it. With this temps, gpus should last many, many years

    Im a „little bit“ outdated with with my gtx1070 but I run an UV and OC settings.
    Worked best for me since 2017.
    Keeps the temperature lower and still got a little performance boost compared to Stock settings.
    The pure OC dope but only if you got an good cooling system. If it runs hot it starts to temperature throttling which cause mostly frame drops and micro stutters.

      Undervolting is for sure worth it, pretty much every time. For what ever reason my card was not a great undervolter with this game and recording :/

      @@wildggit's the 4000 series as a whole, I've seen the same thing with 4090.
      Your best bet is to power limit and undervolt just a tiny bit.

    im ordering a ryzen 7 5700x3d, i have a 2060 super, any recommendations on a gpu if i mainly play tarkov only?

    • @wildgg
      @wildgg  Месяц назад +1

      That's kinda impossible to answer without knowing at what resolution and settings you want to play at + your budget limit.
      Tarkov is generally known to be CPU/RAM bound but you can definitely push a GPU to the limit in this game.
      with that said and not knowing your settings/goal/budget, personally I would go with some with atleast 12gb of VRAM, so a 4070 would be my pick.

      honestly for tarkov at 1080p at low settings you'll be fine with the 2060 super even when paired with a beastlike cpu like the 5700x3d. but at higher res, you definedly should get a better one. 8gb of vram is just about enough for 1080p, but i am running in issues with streets with 8gb of vram at 1440p so im running it at 1080p, other maps run fine tho at 1440p 8gb vram.

      If you are building for Tarkov. Go hard on the CPU. Worry about GPU after. Grab the 7800x3d if you can stretch your budget(seriously). Monster CPU for Tarkov and the reasonable price tag is the bonus. If you have the 2060 Super already. Id sit with that till 50series drops and upgrade to that series OR grab a 30/40series after the price drops from the 50series. Chuck some decent ddr5 in there. Youll be flyin. But the Super will be the "weakest" point in your PC.
      I recently upgraded to this. Still have a 2080ti(waiting for 50series). Best upgrade Ive ever done. 2K 180hrz screen. Once you go 2k or upwards you wont go back to 1080.

      order 7800x3d and ddr5 ram eaisly get 150fps+ on customs with 1080p

    • @wildgg
      @wildgg  Месяц назад +1

      Thank you, it definitely did not run this cool out of the box lol
      I'm very happy how cool it runs now but I would not expect these temps on a stock 4080S, as I noted in the description I have a modded GPU, stock shroud and fans are removed and replaced with 3x a12x25 fans from Noctua + I'm using Phase Change Thermal Pad called PTM7950 from Honeywell. Besides that I also have one of the best cases for airflow you can buy.
