Yea it is nice and heartwarming because he has always had to be a hero to hyrule and not be recognized for his duties, so it is nice to see link relax and play games with a friend like a young kid
I always felt bad for Oot/Mm link’s he’s one of the incarnations that suffers the most and the one who deserves the most a happy ending, yet he dies with tons of regrets and isn’t able to move on till the link of Tp comes along.
Pardon for lack of knowledge as I am a new Zelda & Link fan, but how do you know he dies a sad death? Is it talked about in Twilight Princess or a book? I've only played Oot, MM, and BotW
@@CeramicQuill *Spoliers//////* it's confirmed in Twilight Princess that the _Hero's shade_ the spirit of a skilled deceased warrior who passed his knowladge to the current link and thus finally being able to heal his soul and move on to the afterlife, was indeed the Link from OOt and Mm and the reason he ended up like that is that he regretted never been recognized as a Hero and never being able to pass his knowladge to a descendants, it's unkown how and why he died but the armor he has on implies he might have became a royal guard. And later on in life, he goes on to become a knight just like his dad was. So on the whole, he did ok. Up until his death in war, never seeing his kids grow up to pass anything on to them..until a hundred years later in twilight.
@@carmena.gonzalezrios8372 I wouldn't say it's confirmed in Twilight Princess, as the hero's shade was a royal guard and for him to have died in battle to Ganon that would mean that Majora's mask never took place in that timeline (according to the book, MM was a failed timeline). Yet skullkid says he's been waiting for the hero and starts playing around with puppets and makes no nod to the stalfos of his friend, plus the sacred grove entrance of majora's mask is visible in TP. The heros' shade concept art is proof that the game dev's did not intent for him to be OOT link as they depicted the character as a samurai, a twilight, or a woman. Not to mention the hero of time's wish was to be reunited with his friend Navi, not to be remembered as a hero, OOT Zelda even gives him a second childhood because she believed it was unfair. Hyrule Historia is a complicated and was something for the fans to enjoy but came after TP and early games can't all be tied together neatly. Either way the hero's shade being OOT Link feels like a mistake when later lore suggests Link is a reincarnation.
This timeline is so sad and depressing. Link gets sent back in time and everything he has done goes undone. Everyone forgets him, his friend is long gone, and he has to live a life where he is no longer the hero, but a former shade of himself.
Trevor Vallo What’s this “friend” stuff??? Navi was no friend. If she was she wouldn’t have bounded off as soon as he set foot back at the temple of time. She may have helped him, but she was annoying, and another “order follower.” That’s all the reason she partnered with him at all.
It was sweet to see Skull Kid forgiven and reassured that he is loved and surrounded by people that care about him. Link was also so expressive, and likeable. It was amazing when he put his hand on the Giant's. But most importantly: you gave Link a little time to just be a kid. Brilliant work, keep it up my friend.

Majora’s Mask has a special place in my heart. It was my childhood. My uncle had muscular dystrophy and was paralyzed everywhere but his fingers by the time I was 5, so playing video games was one of the only things we could actually do together. we spent literal hours going through this game and finding all of the secrets. He passed away a year ago, and I still have the GameCube he gave me, and the same copy of Majora’s Mask we used. Sometimes I load up his file and play it, and it’s like we are playing it together again. Wow okay I just came here to say this animation hit home and made me cry 😂 amazing work, thank you for triggering really happy memories 💖
The best thing about this is that even though it's still a much happier ending, there's still that lingering thought. The mask salesman's last question he asked Link "Are you happy?" Sure, Link got some temporary solace, but he still never seemed to find his "invaluable friend." And so that final visual of him in the armor he eventually died in (or at least wore in his afterlife). And so I can definitely say I too feel a strange sadness as dusk falls.
I never even thought of that! Maybe Nintendo isn't as bland-storied as we thought! Maybe at the beginning of Twilight Princess, when Rusl is discussing feeling the strange sadness as dusk falls, he's not talking about the Twilight Realm, he's talking as if he can feel the despair of the Hero of Time/Hero's Shade! After all, the inhabitants of the Twilight Realm (save for Zant, obviously) don't seem sad at all about being eternally trapped in the Twilight Realm. So, here's my theory: Rusl is a long-lost, long-forgotton descendant of the Hero of Time, much like Link, that even the Hero's Shade doesn't remember. This could possibly explain how he knows so much about wielding a sword (although, he could've just trained a LOT), and how he can feel the sadness as dusk falls, which most likely points to the regrets of the Hero's Shade. The beauty of the question "Are you happy?" is that is there no right or wrong answer. While Link lost a friend in Navi, his new adventures in Termina introduced him to new experiences and new friends. When there is a meeting, a parting is sure to follow.
The last scene when link is seems to wear an armor is the same as that spirit in armor that shows TP li k new moves, even in TP they tell you that he was the bero of time
The ending... IT WAS SO PERFECTED With the Hero of time ending his days as The Hero's shade, as which perfectly starts the timeline for Twilight Princess 😭
@A Random Friend in Twilight Princess, you get to learn special sword moves from a stalfos that hints at him being a previous hero (its well agreed upon by fans and the creators acknowledge that its Link from Ocarina of Time). The armour the stalfos wears and the armour Link wears at the end of this animation are one and the same.
6:30 Imagine making sacrifices and even risking your life to help other people and make them happy.Then, in the end, you get to see them be happy and enjoying themselves which makes you glad and all but....you yourself are not happy, not really. Imagine continuing your journey through life despite this and after experiencing hardship after hardship you just...die. Alone. Far away from home. Unrecognized. Full of regrets, because you could't find your lost friend that abandoned you so long ago, without saying a word, even after all that you have been through. A hard life with more pain than happy moments ends with a failed mission... This is what living for others gets you.

i'm a person who's never got to experience Majora's Mask. but after watching the ending... Man i could certainly feel those feelings through my veins. You did a fantastic job is all i'm saying. Well done.
Same. I never grew up with any of the Zelda games, but something about Majorca’s mask really intrigued me. I also really like the Skull Kid and felt bad for him.
This is a great take on Majora's Mask's ending. I especially love that the skull kid does feel regret for everything he did during the game and your problems with the original ending are valid but your version also come with a problem imo. While Link playing with Skull kid at the end is very heartwarming and I like it, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't feel quite right in the context of the narrative. What I mean by that is, MM's ending symbolizes happiness. Everyone is happy, Clock town, the Deku, Gorons, Zoras, Romani and Cremia, and the couple of Anju and Kafei. Even the Skull Kid is happy at the end. but one person isn't. Link. He isn't celebrating with everyone nor does he care about taking credit for saving Termina. He only cares about finding Navi so he just leaves. So in that context, your ending where he stays and plays with the skull Skull Kid doesn't make a lot of sense to me. The hero of time is the way he is because he doesn't know much else. He was taken to the forest as an infant by his dying mother where he was ostracized for not having a fairy. And when he finally did get one he was forced to save the Deku Tree from dangerous monsters only to realize his efforts were in vain and watch his father figure die right before his eyes. He then had to leave his only friend behind and travel to Hyrule to go on a world saving quest where he was basically told, "You must risk your life to save this land you know nothing about from ruin by an evil tyrant. it's you destiny wither you like it or not. go get em." He just had all this thrust upon him by people saying it's his "destiny" he had 7 years of his life robbed from him, where he learns his entire life up to that point has been a lie and has no choise but to swallow his sorrow and venture forth. And after he defeats Ganondorf and finishes with his quest, he was brought back to the past undoing everything he worked towards, with Navi leaving him in the process. So he goes on a quest to find her and gets dragged to Termina where he has to relive the same 3 day nightmare over and over or else everyone dies. And when he finally succeeds and stop the mask's rampage, he just leaves to continue his search for Navi who is more than likely long gone and dead. From all of this, it leads me to believe The Hero of Time doesn't know how to have fun or be truly happy. Hell, even as an adult and a ghost in Twilight Princess, he still has tons of regrets. They say "Some are born great, some achieve greatness, some have greatness thrust upon them". And I think this describes the Zelda series to a T. The Hero of Time is a tragic character. most people who criticize him just don't look hard enough. Great video though. XD
i agree with everything you said! it's nice to imagine he at least had a few moments just to be a kid and not worry about the fate of the world being in his hands. that's what i would call pure joy and innocence when he was exposed to all that being so young.
This was one of my favorites. You capture the guilt that Skull Kid felt for nearly destroying Termina. And the theme of forgiveness was very on point as Tatl, Tael, Link, and the Four Giants forgave him. The scene of Link and Skull Kid was endearing. You rarely got to see Link happy and playful because of the events of both games. I like how you captured Link's depression based on the conversation with the Happy Mask Salesman. And Link getting depressed after he parts ways with Skull Kid shows that the trauma of the previous game took a toll on him. The last image of an adult Link in armor shows that his adventures are far from over. He will become a spirit in Twilight Princess and help his descendant to defeat Ganondorf again.
The thing that got me was that he died in those lost woods, fighting.....looking for navi....probably not finding that happiness of his friend again.....before becoming the hero's shade for twilight princess....
Heath Wackerly the reason why Navi became link’s fairy was to guide him through his quest as the chosen hero of the goddess,it was an order from the great deli tree,so once link’s quest was done,I guess she thought that there was no use in being with him anymore considering the fact that her purpose (to guide link in saving hyrule) was done
Maybe. We don't know what he did in between Majora's Mask and becoming the Hero's Shade in Twilight Princess, so maybe he DID find Navi, and lost her again. Just sayin'.
If tp link is supposedly mm link's descendant then he couldn't have died in the forest (I believe he married Malon) but there might be no connection between the two so you could be right either

When I watched this scene as a kid, it was the first time I felt an emotional connection with characters in games and it really taught me how important friends are and I shed some tears watching it, this hit me in the feels, it brought me back to that moment and made me cry a lot, thank you

All I can really say is...wow. This is actually better than the original ending. It's nice to see Link become friends with Skull Kid and hang out with him for a little bit before he leaves. And that Hero's Shade ending was a perfect note to end it on.
Im really really glad u kept everything the way the game was. Instead of making it look to realistic or whatever. And no voice action to ruin it. This should be what real Zelda fan animation should be. You kept the same assets, didnt ruin it by making Link talk and being that stupid goofy cartoon like other ppl do, you even had the dialogue boxes. You are a real Zelda fan

Link can talk. In botw, It's stated that Link chooses not to talk. In TP, The hero's shade, AKA MM link, Talks to tp link in order to teach him skills.
I'm not crying, you're crying 😢 I don't know why but I think that the hero of time has been the one with the saddest fates of all "Links" He's also my favourite one because OoT was the first ToZ game I played of this saga. And I'm never forgiving OoT Zelda for sending him back to the past condemning him to live a lonely fate.
I see this complaint a lot, but I can kinda understand where Zelda was coming from. He had lost 7 years of his childhood in his quest and she tried to give them back to him. It was definitely the wrong choice and I don't think she understood how lonely it would be but her heart was in the right place.

Still pisses me off that there wasn’t more continuity for Hero of Time Link. Does Link ever find Navi? How does he meet his end? How does Gannondorf get caught? At what point does young Link lose his right eye before becoming the Hero’s Shade? If Twilight Princess Link isn’t royalty, who does young Link procreate with down the line? If young Link isn’t recognized as a hero, does he at least become a knight of Hyrule? And most of all, what the hell does the King of Hyrule look like in this!? I'll tell you what a lot of research told me and this is all canon. TP (Twilight princess) is the continuation. Faries disappear after there job is done and Navi MAY be no different. Hero of time link had to have made it home becuse in TP you get his bow from the Gorons who were watching it. For the rest I have no clue theres theories but no hard proof right now
Where is it explicit stated that Link was looking for Navi in his journey that led him to Termina? Because she's never mentioned by name in game, nor in the manual as far as I know. The only friends link meets again in this games are Epona and... Skull Kid. In Ocarina of Time, after Link plays Saria's Song to him he says "We should be friends, take this!" and gives Link a piece of heard. My English was not the best back in the day when I played both games so I always thought the friend Link was looking for was Skull Kid, not Navi.
This was a great job. Part of this animation reminds me of a principle that I know. If you think about this Link and the Hero's Shade, the Hero's Shade is a representation of regrets and happiness that Young Link never got to experience. If you strive to make others happy, it is indubitable that they will achieve such a state, but as a result, the one who strives to make others happy must take on their sadness as their own. This was thoroughly done. Great job! As a joke, if you go to 2:25, you might see the smile of Link. I'd like to think he looks slightly constipated. Poor Link. He should get that checked out.
You have to remember he was probably still carrying around those heavy equipment in his inventory. His sword and shield probably didn't help either ^^;

Of all your videos, this is my favorite. I think it's your best story. The game made me crazy playing it, but this video gives it more. It gives it a moral and lessons about true friendship. Notice at the ending link is wearing the same armor the hero of time did in twilight princess. He is link from ocarina teaching link in twilight princess those powerful skills. Amazing
I've always believed Link returns to find Skull Kid when he is older. Specially because skull kids are kids that get lost in the woods and stalfos are adults that get lost in the woods and they became each creature respectively. So I believed in the end of (Ocarina of Time) Link's lifetime he comes back looking for Skull Kid and since he lives in the Lost Woods with Skull Kid, he ends up becoming a stalfos.
Wouldn't the Triforce of Courage have protected him? Then, when he finally died, the Triforce of Courage would have gone to his descendant, Link from Twilight Princess?
actually heros shade isnt a stalfos but rather a sort of ghost that looks like a stalfos, hes a spirit since he can also turn into a wolf and also create the dimension where he teaches TP link his moves

The ending killed me. This entire video made me cry. Your animations are beautifully created and the scenes are so rich with detail and emotion. I really loved the subtle emotions put into the animation (a good example being: Skull Kid hesitating a few times before reaching up to touch the Giant's hand). It was hilarious to see Link acting like the actual kid, and the last few seconds were a surprise, and one that was quite a bit more emotional than I expected. Great job!

The ending hit me right in the feels. Legend of Zelda has always been my favorite series,and OOT was the first video game I ever beat. One of my only regrets is I havent beaten Majora yet. Well done MajorLink. I love these animations.
9:20 completely made my heart break. I have not played any of the Zelda games, I do not have the connections and nostalgia regarding Link and his adventures, I don't know much aside from your animations and what I read up on, hell, I didn't know anything about legend of zelda up until two weeks ago. With the lack of relationship I have with this series, that scene still brought tears to my eyes and made my heart ache. It really goes to show your skill in story telling and your love for protraying Link as a person. Thank you for this and please continue following your passion.

I’m not gonna lie as a child I’ve loved legend of Zelda so I get emotional about the friend ship with link and skull kid I started tearing up at 8:20 when they’re carving they’re selves... sigh 😔💝
Oh my goodness, this was absolutely stunning. You've addressed two of the main issues that the original ending to Majora's Mask left me wondering about. One: Darmani, Mikau and the Deku Butler's son are still dead--not even Link could reverse that. Showing the Skull Kid have a moment of introspection about "the Goron and the Deku" was great. He acknowledged someone died because of him and he felt remorse. Two: The OoT/MM era Link is one of the most complex incarnations of the character to me. He is effectively an adult in a child's body now, having lived through the dystopian future Ganondorf created...which nobody in this timeline will ever even know had existed at all. I always thought that was why Link began Majora's Mask seeking out Navi--because she was the only other one who had experienced that ordeal with him and could relate to him about it. You did the character a great service here by showing him still having a compassionate side in spite of all he's seen, and caring about the Skull Kid even when he no longer has to.

That was such a heartwarming video. I wish, in a way, that the ending played out like this. Its beautiful and a work of art. The montage of Link and Skull Kid playing was funny, and the end was strangely haunting yet serine. Always a pleasure to find an upload from you. These videos breathe new life and perspective to the lore and story of the games. PS. That one dislike is Majora himself. Major Link, this short is simply beautiful! The giant's message of friendship was so sweet, and what the Happy Mask Salesman said about happiness was very intriguing! It's true. True friendships remain strong and last forever, no matter how far apart you are, and goodbye doesn't last forever. I love the scenes of Link, Tatl, Tael and the Skull Kid playing together (including that little reference to the beginning of the game), Link and the Skull Kid carving the picture in the stump, Link and Epona saying goodbye to the Skull Kid, Tatl and Tael, Tatl saying that she hopes that he finds Navi, and the last scene that takes place several years later, with Link, all grown up and wearing the armor that the Hero's Spirit from Twilight Princess wears. I do hope that Link did find Navi, and the last scene should definitely take place after the events of the future game in which he finds her. As always, keep up the good work! 👸💗💟🌹💐🌸🎀🐱🦄🍰

@@CeramicQuill *Spoliers//////* it's confirmed in Twilight Princess that the _Hero's shade_ the spirit of a skilled deceased warrior who passed his knowladge to the current link and thus finally being able to heal his soul and move on to the afterlife, was indeed the Link from OOt and Mm and the reason he ended up like that is that he regretted never been recognized as a Hero and never being able to pass his knowladge to a descendants, it's unkown how and why he died but the armor he has on implies he might have became a royal guard.
The first song you howl upon encounter him it's the song of healing and later other Ocarine of time songs futher supporting who he really is, his identity was finally fully revealed in the Loz book Hyrule Historia

And later on in life, he goes on to become a knight just like his dad was. So on the whole, he did ok. Up until his death in war, never seeing his kids grow up to pass anything on to them..until a hundred years later in twilight.

Yet skullkid says he's been waiting for the hero and starts playing around with puppets and makes no nod to the stalfos of his friend, plus the sacred grove entrance of majora's mask is visible in TP. The heros' shade concept art is proof that the game dev's did not intent for him to be OOT link as they depicted the character as a samurai, a twilight, or a woman. Not to mention the hero of time's wish was to be reunited with his friend Navi, not to be remembered as a hero, OOT Zelda even gives him a second childhood because she believed it was unfair.
Hyrule Historia is a complicated and was something for the fans to enjoy but came after TP and early games can't all be tied together neatly. Either way the hero's shade being OOT Link feels like a mistake when later lore suggests Link is a reincarnation.
After all that link did like saving Termina and hyrule, defeating monsters and doing tons of dungeons you sometimes forget that link is just a kid.

"Are you happy?" it moves my heart, Link achieved hope of everyone,whether they are gone or alive, but Link's wish didn't come ture, it make me sad.
This timeline is so sad and depressing. Link gets sent back in time and everything he has done goes undone. Everyone forgets him, his friend is long gone, and he has to live a life where he is no longer the hero, but a former shade of himself.
I feel like we need another game where link becomes the heros shade, just to see how it happened

Majora’s Mask has a special place in my heart. It was my childhood. My uncle had muscular dystrophy and was paralyzed everywhere but his fingers by the time I was 5, so playing video games was one of the only things we could actually do together. we spent literal hours going through this game and finding all of the secrets. He passed away a year ago, and I still have the GameCube he gave me, and the same copy of Majora’s Mask we used. Sometimes I load up his file and play it, and it’s like we are playing it together again.

The best thing about this is that even though it's still a much happier ending, there's still that lingering thought. The mask salesman's last question he asked Link "Are you happy?"
Sure, Link got some temporary solace, but he still never seemed to find his "invaluable friend." And so that final visual of him in the armor he eventually died in (or at least wore in his afterlife). And so I can definitely say I too feel a strange sadness as dusk falls.

Maybe at the beginning of Twilight Princess, when Rusl is discussing feeling the strange sadness as dusk falls, he's not talking about the Twilight Realm, he's talking as if he can feel the despair of the Hero of Time/Hero's Shade!
After all, the inhabitants of the Twilight Realm (save for Zant, obviously) don't seem sad at all about being eternally trapped in the Twilight Realm.
So, here's my theory: Rusl is a long-lost, long-forgotton descendant of the Hero of Time, much like Link, that even the Hero's Shade doesn't remember. This could possibly explain how he knows so much about wielding a sword (although, he could've just trained a LOT), and how he can feel the sadness as dusk falls, which most likely points to the regrets of the Hero's Shade.

The beauty of the question "Are you happy?" is that is there no right or wrong answer. While Link lost a friend in Navi, his new adventures in Termina introduced him to new experiences and new friends. When there is a meeting, a parting is sure to follow.
He got to smash Malon and created his own village, but he kept his spirit alive to pass his teachings on to the hero of twilight, his descendant
The last scene when link is seems to wear an armor is the same as that spirit in armor that shows TP li k new moves, even in TP they tell you that he was the bero of time

@A Random Friend in Twilight Princess, you get to learn special sword moves from a stalfos that hints at him being a previous hero (its well agreed upon by fans and the creators acknowledge that its Link from Ocarina of Time). The armour the stalfos wears and the armour Link wears at the end of this animation are one and the same.

Same. I never grew up with any of the Zelda games, but something about Majorca’s mask really intrigued me. I also really like the Skull Kid and felt bad for him.
This is a great take on Majora's Mask's ending. I especially love that the skull kid does feel regret for everything he did during the game and your problems with the original ending are valid but your version also come with a problem imo.
While Link playing with Skull kid at the end is very heartwarming and I like it, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't feel quite right in the context of the narrative. What I mean by that is, MM's ending symbolizes happiness. Everyone is happy, Clock town, the Deku, Gorons, Zoras, Romani and Cremia, and the couple of Anju and Kafei. Even the Skull Kid is happy at the end. but one person isn't. Link. He isn't celebrating with everyone nor does he care about taking credit for saving Termina. He only cares about finding Navi so he just leaves. So in that context, your ending where he stays and plays with the skull Skull Kid doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
The hero of time is the way he is because he doesn't know much else. He was taken to the forest as an infant by his dying mother where he was ostracized for not having a fairy. And when he finally did get one he was forced to save the Deku Tree from dangerous monsters only to realize his efforts were in vain and watch his father figure die right before his eyes. He then had to leave his only friend behind and travel to Hyrule to go on a world saving quest where he was basically told, "You must risk your life to save this land you know nothing about from ruin by an evil tyrant. it's you destiny wither you like it or not. go get em." He just had all this thrust upon him by people saying it's his "destiny" he had 7 years of his life robbed from him, where he learns his entire life up to that point has been a lie and has no choise but to swallow his sorrow and venture forth. And after he defeats Ganondorf and finishes with his quest, he was brought back to the past undoing everything he worked towards, with Navi leaving him in the process. So he goes on a quest to find her and gets dragged to Termina where he has to relive the same 3 day nightmare over and over or else everyone dies. And when he finally succeeds and stop the mask's rampage, he just leaves to continue his search for Navi who is more than likely long gone and dead. From all of this, it leads me to believe The Hero of Time doesn't know how to have fun or be truly happy. Hell, even as an adult and a ghost in Twilight Princess, he still has tons of regrets.
They say "Some are born great, some achieve greatness, some have greatness thrust upon them". And I think this describes the Zelda series to a T. The Hero of Time is a tragic character. most people who criticize him just don't look hard enough.

This was one of my favorites. You capture the guilt that Skull Kid felt for nearly destroying Termina. And the theme of forgiveness was very on point as Tatl, Tael, Link, and the Four Giants forgave him. The scene of Link and Skull Kid was endearing. You rarely got to see Link happy and playful because of the events of both games.
I like how you captured Link's depression based on the conversation with the Happy Mask Salesman. And Link getting depressed after he parts ways with Skull Kid shows that the trauma of the previous game took a toll on him. The last image of an adult Link in armor shows that his adventures are far from over. He will become a spirit in Twilight Princess and help his descendant to defeat Ganondorf again.

When I watched this scene as a kid, it was the first time I felt an emotional connection with characters in games and it really taught me how important friends are and I shed some tears watching it, this hit me in the feels, it brought me back to that moment and made me cry a lot, thank you

All I can really say is...wow. This is actually better than the original ending. It's nice to see Link become friends with Skull Kid and hang out with him for a little bit before he leaves. And that Hero's Shade ending was a perfect note to end it on.

He's also my favourite one because OoT was the first ToZ game I played of this saga.
And I'm never forgiving OoT Zelda for sending him back to the past condemning him to live a lonely fate.
I see this complaint a lot, but I can kinda understand where Zelda was coming from. He had lost 7 years of his childhood in his quest and she tried to give them back to him. It was definitely the wrong choice and I don't think she understood how lonely it would be but her heart was in the right place.

I'll tell you what a lot of research told me and this is all canon. TP (Twilight princess) is the continuation. Faries disappear after there job is done and Navi MAY be no different. Hero of time link had to have made it home becuse in TP you get his bow from the Gorons who were watching it.

The only friends link meets again in this games are Epona and... Skull Kid. In Ocarina of Time, after Link plays Saria's Song to him he says "We should be friends, take this!" and gives Link a piece of heard. My English was not the best back in the day when I played both games so I always thought the friend Link was looking for was Skull Kid, not Navi.

This was a great job. Part of this animation reminds me of a principle that I know. If you think about this Link and the Hero's Shade, the Hero's Shade is a representation of regrets and happiness that Young Link never got to experience. If you strive to make others happy, it is indubitable that they will achieve such a state, but as a result, the one who strives to make others happy must take on their sadness as their own. This was thoroughly done. Great job!
As a joke, if you go to 2:25, you might see the smile of Link. I'd like to think he looks slightly constipated. Poor Link. He should get that checked out.

Of all your videos, this is my favorite. I think it's your best story. The game made me crazy playing it, but this video gives it more. It gives it a moral and lessons about true friendship. Pretty sure Nintendo confirmed that the Heros Shade was the same Link from OoT/MM and the Link from TP is a direct descendant.
I've always believed Link returns to find Skull Kid when he is older. Specially because skull kids are kids that get lost in the woods and stalfos are adults that get lost in the woods and they became each creature respectively. So I believed in the end of (Ocarina of Time) Link's lifetime he comes back looking for Skull Kid and since he lives in the Lost Woods with Skull Kid, he ends up becoming a stalfos.
Wouldn't the Triforce of Courage have protected him? Then, when he finally died, the Triforce of Courage would have gone to his descendant, Link from Twilight Princess?
That always confuses me because wouldn't children become stalchilds instead of skull kids because skull kids look nothing like stalfos
actually heros shade isnt a stalfos but rather a sort of ghost that looks like a stalfos, hes a spirit since he can also turn into a wolf and also create the dimension where he teaches TP link his moves

I loved how you transitioned to the Hero's Shade at the end. Brought tears to my eyes. This Link's story is so sad it's unreal.
I really loved the subtle emotions put into the animation (a good example being: Skull Kid hesitating a few times before reaching up to touch the Giant's hand). It was hilarious to see Link acting like the actual kid, and the last few seconds were a surprise, and one that was quite a bit more emotional than I expected. Great job!

9:20 completely made my heart break. I have not played any of the Zelda games, I do not have the connections and nostalgia regarding Link and his adventures, I don't know much aside from your animations and what I read up on, hell, I didn't know anything about legend of zelda up until two weeks ago. With the lack of relationship I have with this series, that scene still brought tears to my eyes and made my heart ache. It really goes to show your skill in story telling and your love for protraying Link as a person. Thank you for this and please continue following your passion.

Oh my goodness, this was absolutely stunning. You've addressed two of the main issues that the original ending to Majora's Mask left me wondering about.
One: Darmani, Mikau and the Deku Butler's son are still dead--not even Link could reverse that. Showing the Skull Kid have a moment of introspection about "the Goron and the Deku" was great. He acknowledged someone died because of him and he felt remorse.
Two: The OoT/MM era Link is one of the most complex incarnations of the character to me. He is effectively an adult in a child's body now, having lived through the dystopian future Ganondorf created...which nobody in this timeline will ever even know had existed at all. I always thought that was why Link began Majora's Mask seeking out Navi--because she was the only other one who had experienced that ordeal with him and could relate to him about it. You did the character a great service here by showing him still having a compassionate side in spite of all he's seen, and caring about the Skull Kid even when he no longer has to.
Also, fantastic nod to Twilight Princess at the end. I got the feels when that theme kicked in.

That was such a heartwarming video. I wish, in a way, that the ending played out like this. Its beautiful and a work of art. The montage of Link and Skull Kid playing was funny, and the end was strangely haunting yet serine. Always a pleasure to find an upload from you. These videos breathe new life and perspective to the lore and story of the games.

Major Link, this short is simply beautiful! The giant's message of friendship was so sweet, and what the Happy Mask Salesman said about happiness was very intriguing! It's true. True friendships remain strong and last forever, no matter how far apart you are, and goodbye doesn't last forever. I love the scenes of Link, Tatl, Tael and the Skull Kid playing together (including that little reference to the beginning of the game), Link and the Skull Kid carving the picture in the stump, Link and Epona saying goodbye to the Skull Kid, Tatl and Tael, Tatl saying that she hopes that he finds Navi, and the last scene that takes place several years later, with Link, all grown up and wearing the armor that the Hero's Spirit from Twilight Princess wears.
