- The game 'Back to the Board' is a good way for students to understand and consolidate new vocabulary, by engaging and activating them into using their wider vocabulary to describe key words.
Teacher: Katie Butler (English for Asia)
Students from: W.F. Joseph Lee Primary School
Director: Angelina Komar (English for Asia)

I've done this with as many as four teams. It gets pretty wild and energetic. It also helps to have a TD to help monitor to see who gets the point. I also get the kids out of their chairs and gathered around their seated team member.
They're so well-behaved compared to some kids I've seen.
NewArchipelago i think this is scripted that's why.
@@renewpaige2547 thats why they were CHOSEN for this video.
Because it’s in another country that’s how students behave. I’ve seen it a 1,000 times
yes, i say the same
It is really interesting how students are playing with the game.
Students are working on as a team and the two students are giving the answers.
It is a good experimental for the social skills too.
You do this in Spain, the classroom explodes with noise and boisterous laughter. Great game!
Nice game, I will start my social service in a volunteers program in Mexico. I have been learning about teaching. thank you for this icebreakers video.(I am studying to be industrial engineering and quality controls).
it so interesting game for me, i'll try it in my class thankz....
In the reality, they will tell the two students sitting in front of the answer in their native language. Thus, she keeps saying "No cheating" though.
If they speak a single word that isn't English minus a point. That should work.
What a wonderful class
Good good
This is really fun. I’m looking for ways to adapt it to the online one on one classroom. Thanks for sharing this video!
I've done this online. It still works.

Nice game . What age is required to perform this game
Is the group explaining the word allowed to do actions or only verbal?
actually only verbal, but kids can't control themselves/their body language during the game which is okey because they are kids :)
Thank you!!
Great idea! Nice video.

They are so cute
Thanks,it's helpful
Beautiful video. Very cute too.
Super video
good idea.. thanks!
Yes
nice game!
thank you for the nice game !
Its very good.
GREATTTT!!!!
Excellent
Very good. However, due to 4-5 students on each team, it is better to make more teams so each student has a partner and is speaking i.e. providing clues.
Thanks
It is still very interesting
Thank you, that's so funny way to learn English
There might be one problem: the low-level kids cannot give the clues while the other kids can. One of the solutions can be: give each ss a piece of copy with the words and easy explanation on so that each kid, even the low-level kids, can give the right explanation and can also help them to practice memorizing the meaning of each word.
if i do this activity in my classroom it will turn into a battlefield😮
Nice video Maam
Wow, what are their native language? They seem very proficient in English for their age.
Smart girls and an amazing teacher!
Cantonese
Best
Wow
only girls. imagine there're tons of naughty boys, they say exactly the word as they see on the board 😂
No way
That's what's happened when I tried this game.😭 You have to take points away if they say the word.
Nice

why are they using American names?... I bet they just have beautiful Chinese names... can't they keep them?... btw I love this activity, excellent video :D
only if people pronounce it properly..😂 I once tried to keep my Asian name and no one could say that properly.. also they found it hard to remember.. so I had to change my name into more simple version ... it wasn't european name though...
all the English speaking teachers give English names to their asian students.
It would be a fantastic and respectful idea to keep their beautiful original names, no matter how difficult to remember or pronounce are them. It is difficult for them pronounce occidental names as well.
Maybe because they are from Hong Kong? (I'm not 100% sure but their accents are very Hongkongish)
In Hong Kong, most of us have an English name, mostly given by our parents. We often call our classmates, friends and colleagues, especially the ones we're not very close with, by their English name, but not their Chinese one. Therefore, it's perfectly normal that the people around you every day do not know your "true name".
Hello. I am
an English teacher. I work in a public primary school in Ecuador ( I am Ecuadorian). I need help because my
students are too unruly. I work with 2nd and 3rd grade . There are about 30
students in each class. There are no resources in the school. The book we use
is not good. What activities and strategies can I use? . I have used activities
I have found on the internet. I use songs. But it is not enough. My students
need more activities that engage them in the classroom. Please. Would you be so
kind to help me with some advice and ideas. Thank you in advance
I wish my students are well-behaved like them. 😅 In reality it's difficult to handle 40 students. 😂
HONG KONG
We develop a game called CEREBROZ to improve vocabularies. Please let me know if you want to give a try.

Luis A. Uribe I think the students are from HOng Kong 🇭🇰
