- A good way to see how well students remember words learnt in previous lessons is to do a memory game such as 'Run to the Board'.
This game will really activate your students' brains as they'll need to recall previously learnt words from memory.

I taught English in Vietnam and this kind of game is a hoot. It's amazing how into it they are.
These Asian students are very quiet, while in Brazil every single game that we do the competition is sooo loud, everyone screams in the end of the game, we smile and it's so fun, It's cool the contrast of differents cultures. I'm going to do this game with my class today and I'll give the feedback later. hehe
It happens the same in my country 😹
Exactly that 's what happened when Arab pupils do a game what a mess even headmaster annoys me by saying that I'm not 🚭 capable of calming them
@@souadsaidi734 HAUAUUAHUHAUAHHAHA I got you sis!
@@variety221 Everytime it's like the first time
The vocal level of these kids is really high. So is their level of enthusiasm. That would have been a great class to teach!
I called this shiritori, I use to do it with free words, and even my big teenagers enjoy it, it's ideal for people at all ages, I use to do a sentence competition that they enjoy a lot
This is a good idea to write down the list on the board when there is a topic.
It really helps to understand and bring more ideas.
The good way is that we could memorize better when we write on the board somehow like notes.
I just let my 37 students play this game this morning and it was great.
Thank you for sharing :-)
Please! How could you control your 37 students? Any technics!
It's great to see how well_behaved students they are despite the excitment .my students get sooooo excited and competitive ...maybe becayse in Algeria , stdts are not used to such strategy of teaching...it gets tiresome sometimes but the outcome is worth it . Thanks for sharing 😊👍
Lovely!! Specially when you have this little group of well-behaved students hahahha, yeah I will try it with mine. Greetings from Peru.
Great video and very easy to follow! I play a variation of this where students have to say the words and if a student repeats a word that's already been said they are out. Cheers!
Ahh, I remember playing this game in a popular English course/tutoring when when I was 5th grade. The class was a blast, very interactive, but pricey as well. We didn't get to learn grammar as much as in my public school, but everyone seemed to fully understood the lessons, including me. I guess with price comes quality, but it's totally worth it.
This activity has more potential than the video shows. The only flaw here is that there are too many students waiting. I would go for smaller team sizes and more teams. But seeing the size of the classroom maybe the teacher is limited by the teaching environment. Great video. Thanks.
Oh my god. I guess everything that easy - is genius as well. Thanks for sharing this great game.
Thanks a million. The teaching is very exciting!
Great game. Thank you. A variation could be, if you have a chalk board, to let the teams write behind two different sides of the board so they can't peek what the other team has written...
That's a clever idea. There's whiteboards which are two sided and flip horizontally. Not seeing the other team would create a lot of suspense!
That`s a good idea!!
Actually i thought right now what i have to do with my chalk board.
so thank you)))
Very interesting n funny
A very powerful activity. I tried it and worked out well. thumps up!
I tried this in my class last morning... It's really fun
I love these games. Such classics
fantastic idea ! well educated Sast and South Asian kids, great English teacher too ! Love the editing and filming, very clearly structured.
It's indeed amazing how well educated and well behaved they are. They are like the ideal students every teacher would want to have in their classrooms.
GOOD ONE I MYSELF DO THE SAME GAME BUT AS A WARM UP TO GET STS MOTIVATED IN SOME SESSIONS. LOVE FROM JAMAL MOROCCO
terrific game ^^ thanks for sharing
THIS IS GREAT!!!!
thank you for all your videos. They are really helpful for me. I wish to have more of yours.
Good
this approach can be elaborated to meet higher level of learning
Thank you for your sharing. Now I am teaching English in Czech Republic. I am not a native speaker. So sometimes I got some difficulties of making class activities. Czech students are very shy. I just don' t know how to motivate them.
Very good game for students. it is very good for team building. Thank You So Much .
Good comment
Great madam
Good teaching

I like this very much. Ms Katie, could you just post your video about strategy of english learning? Because I can can catch what you said without the subtitle (;

thanks for sharing
wooh...thsi is really a killing the time game.....
Nice I apply it in my class thanks for your effort
Great! how would you do it with 25 students?!
brittany palomitas try 45-50 students in Chinese elementary schools
Interesting game...I am planning to use it in my lesson
Great idea! thank you
I liked this activity very much but..
what if other groups' students see and copy another groups' words when they are waiting their turn ?
can divide the alphabet (lower and upper) or assign aceghjlnp (every other letter) to one team, for example
Or divide the letters in half. One group from A-M and the other N-Z.
I really like the game! I have a question. How do you go about "cheating" the same words from the other team? What is the rule for it?
The same question
First you delete the words which are common in both sides, then you count the words, the team which wrote more words will be the winner
Competition in this case is cracking good !!
Doesn't one team copy words from the other team?
It works if the students are as well behaved and sensible as these children are.....In most of my classes a large proportion of my students refuse to get out of their seats...so I usually have to choose two students from each team who then battle it out - with input from the ones that do not want to move from their seats.....(or are too lazy or disruptive)
Hahahaha
Great ! ❤👌
How could we play this game with grammar this u played i think with reading
روووعه wonderful video
Super game!!!!!
Whenever I try to do some activities to my students the classroom turns to a black Friday Arena.
Great Game. But i want to know what is disadvantages of this game? Thankyou🙏
As in Galip Akbulut's comment on each team seeing each others words, I suggest doing some kind of partitioning on the whiteboard, perhaps a cardboard cut out partitioning? Or each team given an A4 paper and write the words down, then other team can't see. Each team lines up in front of A4 paper but far apart from each team, don't use whiteboard.
great game I will do this with my six students
Lol
It's very interesting board game great job
I like it . Thank you
Super
Great game 👍
What a great game!
Yes
Thank A lot
3:48 they are all REALLY happy! (exaggerated).
waww superrrrrr ,love it
can you recommend me some books about this kind of game? thank you...
Love it
If they write it on a piece of paper, will it be better?
Exuse me please hwo can teach my grils she is in primary school in claas four
Funny was the celebration part! The Chinese girls didn't raise a finger HAHAHA....
Can they write same words
thank you
great
Great idea!!! I am not sure it would work where I live because the kids do not ever stay in line and when they are just standing up, they hit each other :(
Abbie Na which country😂
absolute barbaric
But I think the words should be arranged or numbered for easy counting and identification.
Really interesting
This is good game
aha,The winners are so calm.
which grade are they?
lovely
😍
Super
Are they Chinese or Singaporean or Filipinos?
Good
Should write on the paper -
I used to teach like this but i used verbs.
HK students' English is much better than China mainland students' if they are from public school.
of course
Why they wer'nt happy for being the winner 😂 strange student but cute and clever...

It's really genius. But how can I do it with a classroom of 34 students?!
@엘 라이라 엘eL LaiLa L I will do that. Thnx alot.
The game must not be competence ...just a game ...all it is nice .
It is good . But student's from team A who are at the back wil copy the other team's words .
I'm looking from Cambodia I would like video games
hey lass, the camera is over here.
At all time i shout at the teacher to look at the camera..
XBOX 360 ?)
It seems like students didn't involve with the teacher's actions; You should have students from each group count their vocabularies.
Great!
Great!
