But really though, Space Jesus sounds AWESOME! Like those B-Movies. Hell, Sylvester McCoy said that what they wanted to end off with during his run was like a Father, Son, Holy Ghost scenario.
I think the writing, the music and the acting from McGann and Ashbrook would have been amazing in something that had a better budget, a studio with more faith in it, was a series and not a film and was directed by someone else.
It makes so much sense you process it this way! I do too. It's mainly down to the fact that the movie was filmed by the same American studio (Fox) as the X-Files and was intended to start an American TV version of Doctor Who - so the X-Files was probably its blueprint. The soundtrack has many similarities to the X-Files because it's another 90s American TV ost, and the movie and the X-Files were even filmed in the same city (Vancouver)! The movie's cast have even revealed at various cons that because it was the same studio producing both these things, they stayed in the same hotel as the X-Files cast and crew when they filmed the movie, and awkwardly used to bump into them in the bar and in lifts! So they're pretty connected. Finally, I personally find it funny how Grace's red hair and coat and work as a Doctor are rather reminiscent of Dana Scully. Anyway, sorry for the long comment!
@@TheGoldenDuckie111 I like it when people put a lot of thought into replies, so I don't mind the long paragraph. I never knew ANY of this, at all! All of it's very interesting, so thanks for the information :D. Now, I know I'm not crazy for thinking this.
I just watched the movie for the first time, and came here to say that it's already a meme in itself. That was a wild ride.
This looks horribly cheap, but horribly cheap in that charming way that only the 90s could achieve.
The Doctor Who movie has the vibes of the Disney's Inspector Gadget movies.
I really like the idea they lowkey had in this film of The Master having a companion/slave.
Show of hands. Who else likes the TV movie?
People say it's stupid because of the bad plot and dramatic scenes, but that's why I love it. And I also really like the eighth doctor.

0:40 - Director Geoffrey Sax in the DVD commentary: "I don't see the Jesus imagery."

It was pretty well budgeted for a TV movie.
Mmmmm utter perfection

Why does this movie feel like the X-Files?
At least my random thought process it does in some weird way.

@@shadowtheshowman haha glad I wasn’t pointing out the obvious to you. Yeah, you’re really not crazy at all - just perceptive!
They were shooting this movie next to X-Files. I think they ran into the X-Files people a few times.
