"I've regenerated - and I'm suffering from post-regeneration amnesia... as far as I can remember!?!?" -- and after trying on almost every other classic doctor's outfit, "Ah, thank goodness. In this regeneration I've regained my sense of haute couture" (a dig at 6's multicoloured costume) + various other moments.
If you think about it, 11, 12 and 13 passed through something similar to this, but 10 was so high on regeneration and time vortex energy that he just went "i sleep".
Considering how absolutely manic Ten was during his tenure in general, I'm not convinced that he either become so giddy and excited that it caused his body to shut down, or if he wasn't physically preparing for all the bonkers that lay ahead. Like a caterpillar going into a cocoon and coming out as a butterfly.

My sister has adhd and I see a lot of similarities between her and the doctor, and I hear so many people with it who can really relate to the doctor, it kind makes me wonder if the doctor him/herself has it

My favourite regeneration episodes are Spearhead From Space & Castrovalva. I especially love 5 channelling his previous selves before he settles into his new persona & is absolutely adorable when he looks in the mirror & says, "That's the trouble with regeneration, you never know quite what you're going to get." It's funny because he's absurdly good-looking & youthful, but he doesn't seem to appreciate it. 😅 Also, for those really interested, 3 has a shower at the hospital (where he sings badly) before escaping & if you look closely, you can see Jon Pertwee's naval tattoo on his arm. Yeah, he was in the British Navy at one time when he was very young & was even due to ship out on the Hood, just a few months before it was destroyed by the Bismarck, but I believe he was transferred at the last minute, thus dodging a literal torpedo or two.

@@davidthedeaf tbh Collins suffered from JNT's vision, it was a poor interpretation of the doctor and Colin stated amongst many interviews and the such that he always had a different desire for the 6th doctor, potentially with more time this vision could've come to pass. Then the 7th doctor just got good before he left, though it doesn't compare against the peak of the show, season 26 was a massive step in the right direction and showed great promise for seasons to suceed it.

New WHO is entertaining, but they have went all into realistic death, and lots of romance and angst. The best of the 21st century shows are comedic and remind me more of the Baker era. Colin Baker had a ton of potential that was kind of wasted clashed against a writing and directorial staff that had very different ideas of where the show should go. If you like his take on the Doctor I'd really recommend his Big Finish work, where he's given Companions that contrast well with his Doctor's personality and stories that better play off his "sensitive idealist barely stuffed in a smug egotist suit." demeanor.
From what I've seen, on doctor who cannon, he has much more intense and random regenerations to most time lords. For instance, Romana literally chose a body, and the Master frequently has the same sort of look, at least in the classics. I've always been under the impression that the doctor has much less control over it than other time lords. Perhaps because hes not with any others or on Galifrey when it happens, or maybe he's just special.

He's not that great at being a Time Lord, so he has less control over regeneration than all of the other Time Lords that we see.

Well considering that the Doctor can change genders and skin colour, their height isn't all that confusing. The doctor is a completely different person with each regeneration, with their own heights, personality, overall appearance and even accent. As they've said, you don't know what you're going to get with regeneration.

The 1980s when the Exile era stories are set marked the beggining of DNA profiling science so it would be interesting to see if their 3rd Doctor sample matched the 4th or whethere they would show up as cousins. That said ALL Gallifreyans are at a minimum 2nd cousins because of their Gene Looming technology.

It doesn't make any sense that the doctor has different heights, from 5'6" to 6'3". How can you grow or lose all the extra cells just by regenerating them.

Well considering that the Doctor can change genders and skin colour, their height isn't all that confusing. The doctor is a completely different person with each regeneration, with their own heights, personality, overall appearance and even accent. As they've said, you don't know what you're going to get with regeneration.
@@Ailumer An interesting future storypoint would be if UNIT kept any of the Doctor's DNA on file. The 1980s when the Exile era stories are set marked the beggining of DNA profiling science so it would be interesting to see if their 3rd Doctor sample matched the 4th or whethere they would show up as cousins. That said ALL Gallifreyans are at a minimum 2nd cousins because of their Gene Looming technology.
@@DarthAzabrush I would think they're all related in some way but some are closer than others. They don't really mention his DNA in the show so it would be interesting if they would mention something like that.

Nap but Peri is so unlucky. She kept alone with disguised Master in Doctor's Tardis in her first story. She started travel with 5, kinda naive Doctor but after second travel he regenerated into 6th , more narsistic reincarnation. She Got slapped, getting worldy sexual harassment , Being into destroyed her own home planet era , and Doctor leaves her cause Valeyard made Doctor think she is dead.
In The Trial of a Timelord the Time Lords reveal to him that Peri didn't die, she was rescued by King Ycarnos & married him.
