when is there a “new” regeneration, though? do you know what i mean? presumably EVERY version of the doctor has saved the earth once or twice. or at least every version has been there.
it makes sense for the doctor not to know what the future holds, but humanity should have a pretty exhaustive list of the doctor’s faces- even the faces which 13 would consider her ‘future’ have still lived in the past.

If you think the 3rd-7th doctors are hilarious when high on regeneration energy, then you haven't seen the 2nd Doctor, he was so high that he both pulled a knife out on his companions, and accidentally called regeneration renewal, not to mention he immediately started playing Hole in the Bottom of the Sea on the recorder.

For those wondering about the Third Doctor and his shoes the Tardis key was hidden inside one of them. He wanted to get the key back discreetly while half asleep.
Then he put it in HIS MOUTH! I have a major thing about germs. That freaked me out!
When he got the key back he tried to go back to sleep and almost got kidnapped
The clip missing from 4’s regen energy high is that he’s trying to find the key and REMEMBERED it’s in his shoe, which it was.

There's a Big Finish audio story where the Sixth Doctor literally becomes a mythical figure (called the Sandman) in a reptilian society who supposedly kills anyone who looks upon him. His coat physically hurts their eyes, which helps him keep up the act. It's a pretty great story where we get to see a very dark exploration of just how far the Doctor is willing to go to achieve an end.

That’s why I always hated 6. The Doctor always felt like he was slowly maturing past thinking he was perfect and 6 was a huge step backward. Anytime I watch his run I get pissed at how full of himself he is without the charm to back it up.

Poor Colin Baker. He had the worst costume, even he didn’t like it. I don’t know what happened in the wardrobe department for someone to have decided that his clown-like costume looked good
To me, he looked like he was offended that Peri didn't share his fashion sense. That annoyed little smile at the end said "if you say so, ignorant human" not "yes, I agree with you".
Just look at how self-satisfied he was when he looked in the mirror. That must have been the hardest thing for Colin Baker to pull off because he hated looking at himself in the costume but he still managed to look like he thought he was the epitome of style and good taste. Once he stopped having to look at himself, he didn't seem to have much trouble hiding how much he hated the bloody thing.
Four was just high on regeneration energy for 7 years straight - and he’s an icon for it.

It's interesting to consider that the 5th Doctor is the result of The Doctor regenerating under his own ability for only the SECOND time and the first time he ever did so outside the TARDIS or Gallifrey itself. Two was executed by the Time Lords and had his Third body chosen for him. Three was too damaged from radiation poisoning to survive the process save for the convenient appearance of his old Time Lord mentor, Kanto (who "pushed" the process for him to get it started). So, Four to Five was the first time since Hartnell that he was regenerating under his own power. And the very first time doing so outside the mysterious healing properties of the TARDIS interior. I think both of these factors is why he was fragile like a baby-deer for a while afterwards, learning to walk again so to speak.
Then of course, as we know, he later gets drunk off Spectrox Toximia and births the magnificent Sixth Doctor...

Colin Baker reportedly hated his costume. He said that the only advantage he had was that he was on the inside and rarely had to look at himself wearing it. Despite this, when he's looking in the mirror, he shows the satisfaction of a man who sees himself as the epitome of style and good taste. Furthermore, throughout the rest of his time on the show, he swaggered around as though he felt completely comfortable wearing it.
Considering Colin's real life distain for the costume, the fact that he could pull that off shows that he's one of the greatest actors who's ever played the Doctor. If his era hadn't been sabotaged by shitstains like Michael Grade, he would be a very strong contender for the title of Greatest Doctor Of All Time.
The good news is Big Finish cemented that he is one of the best of all time. 😁

A friend of mine who collects props and costumes from the show owns one of the three actual Sixth Doctor coats made for his tenure and I've actually worn it. It drowned me but the way it has been tailored is a thing of beauty and seeing the work that went into totally changed my outlook on his coat...and now I love it! My friend also has the Sixth Doctor's blue cape from Revelation of the Daleks.

When he snatched the shoes. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t expecting that! 😆 I really need to watch classic Doctor Who. I watch modern Doctor Who (even if I’m super behind on it). But I’ve never watched classic Doctor Who, it looks awesome! I’ll have to check it out some time!
If you can get one, a subscription to BritBox allows you to watch Classic Who. That's how I was able to watch a good amount of it.
Start with Tom Baker then jump around if you like it. I personally love a lot of the 7th doctor in his later seasons
I recommend the regeneration stories, meaning each Doctor's first and last stories and the multi doctor stories, to start. :)
Tons of people love Tom baker but I say get in a couple of the first and second Doctor stories then watch all that you can of Classic Who from Pertwee onward. It's better than anything Chibs the idiot has produced.
A lot of people post old stories on Dailymotion, and Pluto TV is a completely free app with a dedicated Classic Doctor Who channel showing stories 24/7. My personal favorite story is Caves of the Adrozani. It's certainly a slower show, but if you like deliberately paced old-school sci-fi, a lot of the stories from Classic Who are going to be right up your alley.
