Hello! I love it ! I was wondering if you could do a video on how to convert a printer to a sublimation printer. I pretty much get the rest I’m just lost on the whole sublimation printer! Thank you
I have a question. I am going to try a blanket but I need a big flower design across the whole top of the blanket. i have silhouette studio and my printer will print 8.5 x 11 or 8.5 x 14. how do i design and print that big of a pic
Can you use any image for sublimation or does it have to be a sublimation image? For example can I go on Etsy and download a random image or does it have to say sublimation download?
Does the tack spray put off strong fumes? I have severe MCS so I ha e to be careful with fumes etc...Could you use tape instead of spray to hold it in place?
Good question Rita. If you need to be mindful of fumes, then I would recommend thermal tape instead. It works well for most projects. The spray is similar to spray paint (at least this brand is). Hope this helps! ---Becky
Sorry Kelli, you wouldn't be able to use a Cricut Joy for sublimation. I'm going to give you a link down below to the Introduction to Sublimation video, it will tell you what all you need to get started. Hope this helps! ---Becky ruclips.net/video/Ns7macGAKwQ/видео.html
I noticed that it 'ghosted' on the word 'tree. but it's beautiful! I wasn't sure how to sublimate on fuzzy or thick stuff. I do have a heat press. 15 x 15, so I'd still have to use heat tape or something to secure the design. how do you know how much pressure to use on a fuzzy or think item? I also have the large heat press by cricut. I've never used my 15 x 15 so not sure how to use it properly............the first time I plugged it in - it blew a breaker. LOL so haven't tried it again - yet..............
I did see that little bit of ghosting also, it's always so disappointing when that happens. It happens more often when I use my EasyPress because I slide it across the design instead of lifting it up. If you use the adhesive or the tape, this shouldn't happen with your "real" heat press unless there is something that causes it to shift on you. For these blankets (and most others) I don't find them to be very pressure sensitive. So it doesn't seem to matter too much in one direction or the other, just as long as you are applying some pressure. I know that's not very specific, so I would just say medium pressure will be fine. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Would you say it’s difficult to use silhouette if you’re use to cricut design space?? I’m new to sublimation and trying to decide what software to use affinity designer, silhouette , canva it’s all new and fairly confusing at this point. And advice appreciated.🙂
Hey JB! Yes, I would say that Silhouette Studio has a learning curve, especially compared to how user-friendly Design Space is. Silhouette Studio can do so much more though, and I find it a very worthy software (but I have a Silhouette Cameo, so I learned it before sublimation). I like that it's free, so you can try it out before you make any upgrade purchases. If you are buying designs, you can also just print from a software like Microsoft Word or Publisher, anything you can import photos into, you can use for basic sublimation printing. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Hey Lisa, do you mean the print? I printed it myself on my sublimation printer. Let me know if this isn't what you are asking and I'll try again. ---Becky
Great question Nancy! Once you install the sublimation ink, you will only print sublimation. You can technically print anything you want, but the sublimation ink will be faded in comparison to "regular" ink. You won't want to switch back and forth between regular and sublimation ink. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Good question John! Since I'm used to mirroring (from other crafting) it comes second-nature for me to mirror. I actually print quite a bit of sublimation designs that I don't mirror, so it was harder for me to remember to mirror when I didn't need it mirrored, if that makes any sense LOL. But I imagine for a lot of people, having it mirror automatically would be beneficial. Thanks for stopping by! ---Becky
Can you use dtf on a pre-quilted blanket?

Poly T

Thank you very much, I really appreciate your encouragement! ---Becky
In the Silhouette program could you use the SVG file and just print it?
Hello!
You could definitely print the SVG from the Silhouette program. 😊
Hi Becky, what printer are you using for sublimation printing
I recommend using A Sub! - Brittany
What is this blanket called? I’d like to try this.
You just want to look for a blanket made with polyester
Can you use any image for sublimation or does it have to be a sublimation image? For example can I go on Etsy and download a random image or does it have to say sublimation download?
Great question Amy! Any image you can print, you can use it for sublimation! Hope this helps! ---Becky

So the colors only transfer definitely not like iron on paper or process.
Correct, this is a permanent transfer, no fading or peeling. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Could you do one of these with a Cricut joy

What product are you using for the sublimation/transfer please?
Hey Lisa, do you mean the print? I printed it myself on my sublimation printer. Let me know if this isn't what you are asking and I'll try again. ---Becky
@@DesignBundles thank you!
If you use your printer for sublimation, can you print regular things? Or does the printer become a dedicated sublimation printer?
Great question Nancy! Once you install the sublimation ink, you will only print sublimation. You can technically print anything you want, but the sublimation ink will be faded in comparison to "regular" ink. You won't want to switch back and forth between regular and sublimation ink. @@DesignBundles Thank you, Becky!!
Where did you purchase the blanket?
Hey Brieann! The blanket is from Walmart. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Hi! Does Design Bundles sell sublimation prints for use? My new printer won't arrive till 12/8!!!
Hey Debe! We don't sell physical transfers, just awesome images to use with your printer. Sorry! ---Becky
Do you really mirror everything each time you print? Why dont you set your printer to mirror and viola.
