Funny that on the box there's an inscription "not for sale." Maybe this box was intended for the russian army, but some Russian businessman decided to make money. Smart guy

New to your channel but glad to stumble upon it!
The white star (IRP) is a bit oily/fatty, but a damn fine meal.
Your vid went a bit blurry so couldnt see, but Russia typically does day/month/year so you have a 21exp which means made in 19, but I think you said it's a 20,.so I likely missed something as Russia put a 2yr life span on their rations

Hi welcome to the channel! I appreciate the info about the date, that makes alot of sense. I didnt know they only did a 2 year lifespan for their MRE's, that good info to have for the future.

Brewing tea in cold water? Are you homeless? Have they turned off your gas and electricity?
Boil up some water for the hot beverages .

Yea, looking back at it, that was a poor idea. I'll definitely not make that mistake again.

Made 12th of February 2020, expired 12th December 2021. And contained 4806 calories.
The fat at half way is just that, fat, key source of energy especially in cold climates. Usually consumed during dinner, to keep you warm throughout the night. It can also be used to maintain leather equipment, or smear some on your face to prevent frostbite.
You would love the liver pate in a trench. ;)
Some combine ingredients, for example put the veggie spread and the meatballs on the porridge for a giant breakfast, go with cold throughout the day saving the last hot meal for dinner.
As I hear in Russia these 24 hr MREs go for $6-8. All the rest is the profit.

    • @MadrasArsenal
      @MadrasArsenal  2 месяца назад

Wow, that price would be alot better than the $70 that I paid for this one. Thanks for the huge amount of information on this.

You could use the foil lined package for this MRE as a Farraday cage for your electronics
in case of an enemy EMP attack.

@Bill23799 that is a brilliant idea. I am going to pin your comment if thats ok. Way to used a resource and "think outside the box". Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the reply. By the way there is an excellent Trilgy series of books based on what happens to a small community in North Carolina after an EMP attack and all electronics are knocked out.
The first book is called " One Second After " by William Forstchen. It is well written and very realistic. You can find the free audio book here on youtube.

    HI!
What you will be read- its only my exp, when I was serve in Russian Army and how I eat the MRE at civil time. We - at means me and my friend =)
    1) We was trying use mess kit to boiled or fries some food from cans at MORE.
    2) We was eat the crackers with some food, not at pure status. Usually add to crackers apple jam or pate.
    3) We was trying to fried main meal at pork’s fat, because you don’t haven’t oil. At the canteen SALO (pork’s fat) given only at lunch. If you want try to eat this at pure condition - try to use black bread or black crackers with garlic.
    4) Sometimes its more good idea to boiled main meal cans, not using open fire.
At this moment there are created and made many new menus, to each Army Branches, by personal orders by these Army's branches.
    Thanks for your listening. Спасибо.

Thank you so much for this information! I hope my next Russian MRE has a flameless heater so I can heat it up. I will try to adjust my cooking methods to match what you say so it will be better. Thanks for your experience!

It's not the same sugar as from the Whole Foods. :) Russian sugar is made of sugar beet (obviously sugar cane doesn't grow in Russia), so it looks a bit different and dissolves slower, unlike the brown cane sugar it's cheap, but it's true that beet sugar is not bleached.

Why is it written on the pack "not for sale " if these rations are produced by a private organization that does not belong to the army?
Everything shown in the video is sold in a regular store

You can also use the jelly or fruit sauces to top off the pate. It can take the salty/bitter aftertaste away. The Russian mints are special formulated to hide the vodka smell.

u threw a whole pack of Jam away (even though u said u loved it) 1. and you didn't drink the coffee (a key item of breakfast) 2. u took 1 lick, not even a bite of the lunch vegetables (you dident even tell me the taist of it, u just said its "good". saying something good is an opinion not review of its flavor) 3. i dont even know if you tryed the gum 4. also idk if u heated it up.
like im not in a bad mood. genuinely im telling u kindly with good intentions. if your going to buy a MRE and record a video take time editing it, review it in detail. like im not hating. but u know like, i wana know if the coffee was good. was the jam actually that good if you threw it away (now i dont belive if your tell me an honest review). im confused if you genuinely liked the meals because for all i know u took one bite to get it in video and threw away the food afterword's. idk its your channel do what u want. but idk its just a lacking review sorry man. talk about the taste more, eat everything in the MRE (if its safe to eat) dont just take 1 bite and review it just to say its "good" to you. its a review not a privet lunch as a viewer i dont care if u hate the food, review it so i know what it taist like before i spend my money on an MRE.

ohh i did find out you dident heat anything bro. you ate it cold how am i supposed to know what it taste like heated. in fact how are you supposed to know for yourself.
the MRE has a stove in it. the intention of that is that the people who made the MRE think the food is best when heated. tell me 1 guy that eats cold meat and grits, and meatballs willingly ? like its Russia, its fucking cold why in that situation would you eat cold food ?
