I've been using the Gordon for a week. Heavy usage. My edc of choice at work was the Gerber Nxt but the knife and the lock suck. Bought a Bibury and used it for a couple of months. The Biburry is good but it's going to take forever to loosen up. I need quick one hand access. I saw in a review that Gordon used copper washers for smoothness. I have not been disappointed. I made a few small adjustments and some oil and it has been great. I use nearly every tool on a daily basis. The only disappointment is the Leatherman type 2D bit. The magnet retainer could be stronger. That bit has fallen out 3 times while in use. I can fix that. My Nxt has a great + driver. I haven't had to sharpen the blade. I keep a sharpener at work. Yeah. I use it everyday to cut paper, plastic, thin cardboard and shrink wrap. The gut hook is outstanding at cutting shrinkwrap off boxes. It saves some blade use. The Gordon is lighter than the Biburry. The diamond file is not as good but it works. The pocket clip is fine though it sits deeper in the pocket. The saw works better than expected. I'm not worried about the warrenty. I can't imagine how i would break it. You really should get it for a review. Its not as refined as the Leatherman or the Bibury but I think it's damn good for me. P.S. My tool of choice for work was the Skeletool but I needed more tools.
Looks like some folks are getting catastrophic failure in the pliers. Iver seen two videos of the head snapping off. I went to HF today and my local one doesn't have any in stock. I wonder if they pulled them due to quality control. Mine hasn't broken, but I haven't done much with the pliers other than some very limited tasks. Either way, it has a lifetime warranty and have plenty of other multi tool backups if it does break until i can bring it back in for a warranty swap. As of 7/24 I would buy again based on my XP but none are in stock anywhere and cant buy them online either. I guess we will have to wait until the gen 2
I've had one for several days now very nice tool. Don't hesitate for the price you can buy 3 for price of 1 wave. So regardless of the warranty if something happens outside of 90 days your still ahead. Feels real good in hand. But nothing feels as good as a Victorianox multi tool in your hand.
5cr15MoV is more a generic code for what the steel is made of and iirc is actually an EU thing. China just uses the designation to avoid confusion. The Mo isn’t M0 as it means Molybdenum. Essentially it’s identical to the leatherman 420HC. Edit: 440C steel is however superior to 5cr15MoV.
I'm usually a real prick about not buying stuff made in China.. but in this case the Leatherman made in Portland Oregon so screw it not much difference..
Paying three times as much for a product that is not clearly superior is a waste of money. I agree that Oregon is a dystopian mess worse than China now in some respects.
Man on my Leatherman I'm sure rust is a big deal and I may be more concerned if I had more of a problem but I always break my blades so I assume thwy are using different steel if it's 9 out of 10 now probably because of enough warranty claims
$39.99 (Gordon) vs 119.95 (Leatherman Wave). That's $80 in my pocket. I can buy 2 more Gordons if they do chip. Get real, in this economy, Leatherman is done.
@ looking at your videos you're a Leatherman fan. No disrespect intended but if you're going to compare something to a Leatherman it makes more sense to have it on the table. Your handle is apples to oranges but you only supply the apples. Comparison videos get more views and generate more interest in your channel if you show both items.
Nice video as always 👍 I think if I had to choose between buying a wave or a gordon multitool, I would always choose the wave because of the warranty and more important the reliability.
If you purchase the Gordon from Harbor Freight online it upgrades you to a lifetime warranty. I would still rather have a Wave but dang I could have 3 Gordons for the price of 1 Wave.
All Gordon hand tools are lifetime warranty, no hassle no receipt needed.
Wow I was confused online.
None of the Gordon knives have lifetime warranty. If you are in good with the management at your favorite store maybe but not by policy.
One more small difference you miss by not actually having the tool you're reviewing: Gordon tiny screwdriver is held by a magnet instead of a spring.

How will you fix the "bit?"
@@aljohnson2439 I added another magnet in the bottom of mine. A flat bar magnet, works great

Had em both. I am keeping the Gordon.

If you buy online they give you a lifetime warranty for free.

@@allenbmooresharinginformation yeah Gordon seemed to nail this one out of the ballpark

I couldn’t listen to the whole video because there was so much vocal fry I involuntarily
kept clearing my throat listening to the guy talk 😂
Lmao thanks bro 😎
Sam Altman is the worst. Can’t listen to him.
@@GSK4EVER I’d never heard of the guy. I looked him up & you’re right. I’m wouldn’t be surprised if people left comments about him either 😂
So you made a comparison video without the other tool...................................................................
Precisely. Since I don’t get paid! Figured this is how I do it

Leatherman Fan Boy just rambling.
Haha
You don't even have the Gordon to compare. Dude, get both on the table! All you did was a video showing off the Leatherman.
