  • This warm syrup pudding is cooked in just 12 minutes... in the microwave! It'll save on your energy and time but still always comes up trumps as the most comforting, warming dessert. Jamie serves it up with cold custard, but warm custard, cream, ice cream would all be delicious - make it your own!

    Wow! Nice combo with the vanilla custard sauce!
    Hi Jamie, could you please teach us the difference between all the different sugars; like white sugar, muscavado, dark sugar, and so on. It would be really helpful.
    Thank you for the video. Happy Sunday evening!

    Hey Jamie, love this recipe! Looks so unctuous and comforting. What can I use to replace suet? I just can't seem to find any available near me at all...

    • @JacknVictor
      @JacknVictor 6 месяцев назад +1

      I know suet is traditional but if you can't get it, either proper beef suet or the vegetarian variety, or just don't want to use it, you can get away without using it, it won't be as stodgy without it yet if you want the stodginess, either swap a third of the self raising flour for plain flour or bread flour, or instead of that, add a couple of extra egg yolks and 2 tea spoons of corn flour or birds custard powder. Either way add extra butter to the mix aswell.

      Golden syrup is a light treacle, and while corn syrup may have some similar properties, it won't taste the same as the real thing. If you have a British aisle in your local supermarket, I would treat myself to a tin of Lyle's Golden syrup - and some Ambrosia Devon custard - for a truly authentic experience!

    Vegetarian food is the future ! Jamie we love you ! Vegetarian food is the future ! Try to create good vegetarian food recepts for the future in the here and now . Here in holland we are one of the largest food exporter after the usa ..We tried to solve world food shortnesses ,but the commercial meat industry became too large here .So we decided that too much meat is not good for the future of this planet .. Cows eat soya ,but it would be better if we eat less meat and more soya ourselves .

    • @corran2000

      It depends on what you believe and what you read, soya from what I have read is actually not as good for you as some believe. It’s also a big allergen and a lot of people are allergic to it, I have a soy allergy and it closes my throat!

No need to be left out with all the new stuff around, if your also worried about carbs in the flour I’m sure there will be a recipe somewhere with almond flour or alternatives if you look up keto or low carb. Good luck!

      Microwave cooking is a real cooking method. But not traditional, I agree.
      And….
      Not everyone has the time to make everything from scratch. But maybe they want to make something nice.
      But…
      I hear what you are saying. :-)
      I’m not British, so I actually know nothing about how to make this pudding, but this microwave method seems doable and enjoyable.
