I have been watching you since you were cooking in that little walk-up kitchen about 20 years ago....You never disappointed me then and you still don't....keep it up Jamie....I was there when you got married, when your children were born and with any luck I will still be around when you become a grandfather....Happy Holidays to you and yours....
I actually tried this recipe this last Christmas. I've never eaten a Christmas pudding before (I'm not from England and we don't have this tradition over here) but it was delicious and the guests loved it. I'd definitely do it again.
Top tip: My grandfather makes them four years in advance and feeds them brandy on the first of each month. He doesn't get his eyebrows back until March, but it is 10/10 worth it. :)
@Turaglas still done in australia more mother’s i moved and must have misplaced mums pudding cloth , generally made 1st week of October for Xmas cake /pudding 👍
@@RachelDavis705 I made this last night. I feel like it would be better with 20g of ginger because it was kinda pungent, and I love ginger. Also I will be food processing the fruit next year, because I feel like the rough chop is a bit too chunky. Otherwise I am of the opinion that the flavors mellowed and blended better after sitting overnight than when it was just off the heat, and I definitely recommend making a creme anglaise to further balance the sweetness and relative acidity. It's a fruitcake and as such it's aggressively Christmas flavored, and one I think I could look forward to once a year. 😀
My Grandma has an Aga and so whenever we make them in about september, it goes in the aga overnight and what comes out is the most amazing rich, treacle-black pudding you ever could get - recipe is a good housekeeping one from the 1950s
That's why I've always loved Jamie Oliver since I was a kid -- doing everything you can with your own hands, screw all those tools and spoons and stuff, just squeeze the lemon with your hands, mix it all together with your hands, love it.
I'll make one this week-end with my kids. It'll be perfect for chrismas, and I'm happy to share with them this moment, as I use to with my english granny.
Wow! My British bloodline side of the family made this every year, but it was called "fruitcake" & served without the cream, & addition to the mix of finely chopped pecans (grown locally) & as they were strict Protestanrs on that side (Methodists) sadly there was no alcohol burn. 🥰thank you for sharing this, @JamieOliver. I have always wondered where she got her recipe. She also put in spices, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg & vanilla bean. (She took that recipe to her grave! lol We had ingredients but she would not reveal amounts.) I was told when I was younger that my fruitcakes tasted most like hers. She wrapped in foil after topping with apple slices to prevent drying, & kept them in the root cellar so we enjoyed it until spring. What a wonderful memory this evoked. Thank you again for sharing. I have already passed my recipes on to my children, & as grandchildren as they grow older.
Love ❤️ this recipe especially because it has no added sugar. It’s sweetened with fruits only. Jamie what I love the most about your methodology is the forget tools and gadgets: use the good old 🖐!! Thank you 😊

Я читала оригинальный рецепт рождественского пудинга, и слава Богу, что у Джейми Оливера рецепт попроще.😄 Вот такой пудинг я точно смогу приготовить :О
Gonna completely my chef studies within 2 years 😍 then I'll be needing a break in the kitchen field with the help of an amazing chef and personlike you
Gawd that looks awesome! My Scottish grandmother used to serve it with a “hard sauce” made from dark brown sugar, butter, and Drambuie. It’s been almost 40 years since I had it... I still taste it in my dreams. 🤤
I once forgot to switch the pan with veg oil... and the flame looked pretty like this... in fact I wouldn't like to repeat that since I'm not a professional))) all the rest is amazing, thanxx
Thank you for the recipe. I cooked one for New Years following your recipe with a little variation. I traded milk for wine 😉♥️ it came out beautiful on the outside and very deli in the inside! We (5of us) ate le last bites of it yesterday! So, thanks again Jamie! Have a great year! ♥️
It's like watching those first episodes I ever saw of Jamie cooking, only better! How old was I, 11? Been waiting for something like this! Authentic and very entertaining, and of course great food! It's the same, only better and more seasoned! So happy to see it! I've never had Christmas pudding but I might start this year. More important than ever to share traditions between countries! :D Food is love!
Absolutely amazing recipe!! Great job, excellent presentation, and looks delicious!!🌲🧑🎄☃️🎁🎀🎉 👍💯👌💝👏 Thanks for sharing it!! Merry Christmas to all of you!!😍
Its December 2023 so I need to plan this for Christmas 2024 because I live in Asia now and it is a challenge to get all the ingredients. It took six months just to get the spices for the Christmas cake I just made.
0oooooo, xxxxx crissy sorted James ...doing your individual chickens and chrissy pud...23 dec better get out there and shop...weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...Merry christmas everyone...love you J & J xxlol
I'm so glad Mr Oliver uses the metric system in his recipes - in this recipe at least. I'm always at a lost when watching documentaries that deal with grains, fathoms, pints, gallons, stones and other such utter nonsense. The only one I know is the yard, which is like a metre, somewhat dwarfish.
Love a nice bit of Christmas pud! got to be with custard or brandy sauce. Even when i'm bursting at the seams, there's always a little room for it. Makes a good ice cream too if you have leftovers (leftover Christmas pudding said no one ever)

Burned lol

Always think of A Christmas Carol when I see this classic dessert.
Cooked this on christmas day down here on the nsw south coast, australia and it worked a treat - and everyone loved it!
Yet it's a Pudding for a white Christmas?
My most favorite of all! Delicious! Absolutely delicious!
5:29 minutes of awesomeness and people ask me why I love Jamie Oliver! 💜💙

I made this tonight for Christmas Eve supper and the pudding came out perfectly, thank you Jamie for the recipe.
I made this pudding this Christmas...and it was just perfect...everyone loved it so much and are asking when am I going to make it again.
Did you use butter instead of beef suete... And if so... How much???
Now
When you invest in pud, you invest in your friends.
Maybe just a little bit of pud. Next we need custard and brandy creme recipes.
@@seraphale brandy cream: whisk icing sugar in heavy cream then fold in brandy ;)
You didn’t say you had custard
I’ll be in noddy-land by 3
@@timbrooks5444 get the couch ready then
Great video, burnt my house though 10/10 would recommend
Exactly like this, I'll celebrate Christmas in Germany.😍😍😍 Love this and thank you so much. 💂💓🇬🇧🤝🇩🇪💓💂
At first I was a bit sceptical but when I saw the bourbon, well, that changes everything... Wahoo!!!
Yum! I like that it’s dried fruit rather than candied fruit. I’ll be making this but with Hard Sauce all the way baby!
This year, I made some mini Christmas puddings AND I used crystallized ginger and rosemary!!! It's lovely nice smell and taste 😋❤
If I plonked it instead of donked it in, will I still get the same results?
Absolutely not my man. it HAS to be donked in! It'll come out all wrong if you plonk it!
Then you'd be a 42 carat plonker, Dave
🤣
You have to bonk it in
Love Christmas pud 🎄
ok
Jamie is so good at Christmas stuff
Made it last year and will make this also this year. 😍 just love it!
This looks lovely! I'm definitely gonna try it this christmas
I've been waiting decades for this!

You have to squeeze it in there, Adam!
There is always room for pudding.
Thanks guys your really enjoying it? 😂
I said this, this morning and people thought I'm making it up or talking through my backside 😭
Sei tutto fatto ahahah ma buonissima ricetta! Good job!
Have a wonderful festive season everybody!
ooo I like the sound of this recipe - it has no refined sugar! so good :-)
Do you boil the pudding prior to aging it, or do you age it raw and boil it right before serving?
Navy blue is your color Jamie! 💕
Brilliant!
Gonna be doing this recipe for sure! Although for the alcohol I'll be using my grandads ancient chef's spoon... It's a family thing ;-)
I wish I could make this recipe, but can you even find suet in France? Not sure
You are amazing, so are your videos! Thank you!
Whipped cream would go well with that. I'd 86 the raisins.
i’m gonna try to make that pudding
I've seen this kind of "flamming pudding" at the English Heritage channel with Mrs. Crocombe!!
Never been this early😍😍love jamieeeee
Hi Jamie, Nice One from another Essex Boy. All the Best Brian 🤗
This reminds me of my aunty, even though I don’t eat Christmas pudding much but that’s something I want to do, but I’m not sure if I can get suet
thank you for showing a technique
Love Jamie Oliver!
