What I love about 7 and 8 games is we play it from the pov of a "normal" survivor, compared to Chris, Leon, Claire, and Jill who are expert soldiers who survived multiple bioterrorism outbreaks. @@missxmarvel My headcanon to explain the RE7 model was that Chris slimmed down due to Jill complaining about his heavy muscles pressing down on her. Maybe they will recycle the RE7 model instead to basically be “younger Chris” whenever they remake RE1 on the RE Engine.
@Shiori I was making a joke. In reality, yes, Chris got redesigned because of the RE engine which made graphics much more realistic so Capcom, in keeping with the theme of more realism, decided to slim down Chris to a more realistic body type. (Also, whereas we make jokes and memes about Chris being on steroids, I think Capcom in Japan felt really scandalized by those memes and so wanted to slim him down to avoid any connotations of steroid abuse.)
@Shiori I don’t think they actually got much criticism when they buffed up Chris. There were plenty of strange looks they may have received, but the RE community accepted Chris’s new body, especially with all the boulder punching memes. I meant to clarify that I think Capcom reflected on all the new Chris memes, especially the memes surrounding Chris’s supposed steroid use, and felt scandalized by themselves due to their own moral misgivings about connotations to drug abuse, even if it’s steroids. The release of the new RE engine provided that opportunity for a redesign of the character model. However, Capcom didn’t realize how much backlash there would be for downgrading Chris’s body, which is why they went back to his beefy physique for RE8. As a compromise, I am proposing that they use the RE7 Chris model and face to represent Chris back when he was younger, i.e. prior to the events of Resident Evil: Revelations. My proposed in-universe explanation for Chris slimming down in RE7 was merely that Jill complained about Chris’s heavy muscles pressing on top of her whenever they banged.
What? Chris taking on the BSAA, Chris was BSAA, 7 and 8 are completely rubbish and don't even feel like resident evil anymore, Don't get me wrong the game itself is beautiful but it's not resident evil, They trying to be all different games in one, this like outlast meets call of duty, but that's one problem with it, the most is that Chris is soooo out of character that he well might be the new wesker, You know I don't get it, a lot of people liking this are the ones who hated on the remakes, but at least the remakes were what resident evil is about, even that new netflix resident evil show is more resident evil than this rubbish, And then this whole story of Ethan being dead all this time, like Wtf, yeah umbrella wanted to make a super god like virus but it would be stupid to have that happen and they never will, manage Wesker as a god who can't be killed it would never end with him and Chris, so yeah you make a story where they almost a god but can still be killed they just super hard to kill because they are stronger than normal, So this Ethan being already dead is like what the hell, This is a rubbish story and not even connected to the pass games anymore, Chris against the BSAA and joining a dumb idea to use the name umbrella again, they already did that with Neo umbrella from RE 6, 7 and 8 have lost touch with what it was all about, And whoever dis agrees with me, then I will say this GO AND PLAY RESIDENT EVIL ALL THE WAY UP TO 6 and take information from them what you see Chris has spent all of his life fighting against Umbrella and being in the BSAA, What's next Leon becomes the new Hunk?!?!?!

@@jessicasykes2004 I mean, to me Chris is still the same. I don't get how he's out of character for you lol. I mean I guess he kinda is since he's not in the BSAA and he's in a new organization. they're probably gonna have an explanation for all of this in RE9, or maybe an upcoming DLC. And RE7 and RE8 are literally connected with the other games, it's just that maybe a lot of time has passed and they haven't explained what exactly happened. And did you see the part where Chris was reading a bunch of notes in Miranda's room and they were letters from Ozwell Spencer? The notes were talking about how he got inspired by Miranda and wanted to make an organisation aka Umbrella with the logo that originated from the village, so everything is definitely connected. RE7 and RE8 are great games and RE8 is definitely a way amazing game than RE7.
The biggest and best character in the saga. First male character in the saga, character with more canonical appearances (RE1, RECV, REUC, REREvelations, Lost in Nightmares, RE5, Marhawa Desire, RE6, REVendetta, RE7, RE8). Responsible for killing the most powerful and important villain in the saga (Wesker). Chris is so talented and above average that before joining STARS he was already in the air force and knew how to fly jets and fighter planes, while at STARS he was the agent with the best aim and knew how to handle any firearm (heavy or light) all this at 25 years old. Chris is the agent with the most successful missions carried out by the BSAA. Chris is the character who dealt with the largest variety of viruses and parasites in the saga, T-Virus, T-veronica, T-Abyss, G-Virus, Las Plagas, Mofo.
My only problem with Chris Redfield as a character is his inconsistent appearances. And by that, I mean how he looks overall. I mean sure, he has evolved over the years but at the same time, I get the feel that the creators can’t seem to decide on a face that would ultimately make him recognizable. Let’s take a look at Resident Evil 5 where arguably he was at his most badass. He’s looking like he’s taking steroids. Okay, I don’t have much issue with that. And then here comes RE6. Still kinda looks like Chris but now he’s gotten off the steroids. Okay. Not that big of a deal. And then here’s Resident Evil: Vendetta. This one really surprised me because for some reason, they have him look like a Latino when he’s in fact white/Caucasian. A little weird but I couldn’t help but call his ass “Mexi-Chris” because of it. Then here comes RE7 where this dude takes off his helmet by the end of the game and calls himself “Redfield.” And I’m like... “Yo. You’re Chris Redfield? You look nothing like him.” And finally here’s Resident Evil 8 where he retains his RE5 look for the most part and now I’m like “Bro! Why does he have to go through so many inconsistent renditions?! Lmao what are they gonna do next? Turn him into a skinny dude like back in his classic RE days?” Sorry but I had to vent this out. As much as I truly like Chris Redfield as a badass character, I truly don’t understand why there are so many renditions of him in terms of appearance when many of the other Resident Evil characters don’t have that issue at all. Like if you look at an agent with a 90s BSB haircut, you know that’s Leon Kennedy.

Deep down was about restrictions, so we had to go thoughtfully to survive and beat the game, and back in the PS1 those were a nice way to accomplish this within hardware limitations. As for the controls, well, these RE protagonist basically don't run anymore, they go jogging like grandmas. Blue Umbrella is not the original Umbrella or reformed, Blue Umbrella is tatical partner of BSAA and Chris is still a BSAA Captain(the soldier in RE8 still calls him captain, meaning they are still a division within BSAA, but went rouge). In RE7, BSAA joined hands with Blue Umbrella on the Baker incident. Before RE7, there were an incident involved BSAA tanker transporting Evelyn. The truth: BSAA has a mole inside supporting The Connections and Miranda(results in the crash of the tanker). Chris's division went rogue on purpose for inner investigation(rogue status is still undisclosed). If you read the collectibles in game, Miranda did say she has mole inside BSAA.

even back to Code Veronica you had shit like Chris climbing a giant cliff without any gear for climbing and taking on Alexia when even Wesker couldn't.

I'm sorry, but that beginning shot of them in the forest must be a reference to Modern Warfare 2019, well maybe this section in general. They have the cigarette smoking, the foggy forest at night, the slowly emerging teammates, the night vision, and the laser pointer that targets.
Possible but we shouldn't jump to conclusions. Chris has had female squad members in the past. Within events such as the Marhawa Incident and Vendetta's outbreak, etc.
@@andymuhammad2375 Well you also have to remember, this squad wasn't and isn't aligned with the BSAA. And there's no statement that these operatives were there in those events. This VA sounds vastly different from anything Sheva like. I doubt it considering they always aim to keep VA's oriented towards the character. The whole time while playing as Chris the only thing on my mind was to avenge Ethan!
They really made us care about ethan, good job capcom
The tonal shift from playing as Ethan and weathering the entire game reminiscent of the old times back in the day with earlier entries in the franchise, to then going to Chris where you feel like a Category-5 Threat entering the village was fucking phenomenal. Still one of my more favorite moments in the franchise.
What I love about 7 and 8 games is we play it from the pov of a "normal" survivor, compared to Chris, Leon, Claire, and Jill who are expert soldiers who survived multiple bioterrorism outbreaks.
It makes sense considering we can see how trained experts can easily mow down hordes of infected (like in RE6) compared to a civillian like Ethan who has a hard time defeating even the most basic infected

Roll back 10 years and no one would imagine the BSAA being a hostile faction and Chris working for a reformed Umbrella.
Yeah, and we are seeing a disillusioned Chris Redfield...
He's not working for reformed Umbrella. He is on his own leading Hound Wolf Squad. Blue Umbrella is not involved in this incident
RE5 showed us how shady BSAA is since they was funded by Tricell which spread the plagas in Africa and their orders caused Chris lost many of his men.

Damn Chris. He turned from a whimp to boulder punching badass who does this.
He was badass in not a hero but the model looked hideous.
@Shiori I was making a joke.
When has he ever been a whimp? He's been the best from the beginning and still is.
I swear Chris' team at the end has to be some classic characters as well. They're pointing to then teaming up to take on the BSAA in 9.
What? Chris taking on the BSAA, Chris was BSAA, 7 and 8 are completely rubbish and don't even feel like resident evil anymore,
Don't get me wrong the game itself is beautiful but it's not resident evil,
They trying to be all different games in one, this like outlast meets call of duty, but that's one problem with it, the most is that Chris is soooo out of character that he well might be the new wesker,
You know I don't get it, a lot of people liking this are the ones who hated on the remakes, but at least the remakes were what resident evil is about, even that new netflix resident evil show is more resident evil than this rubbish,
And then this whole story of Ethan being dead all this time, like Wtf, yeah umbrella wanted to make a super god like virus but it would be stupid to have that happen and they never will, manage Wesker as a god who can't be killed it would never end with him and Chris, so yeah you make a story where they almost a god but can still be killed they just super hard to kill because they are stronger than normal,
So this Ethan being already dead is like what the hell,
This is a rubbish story and not even connected to the pass games anymore,
Chris against the BSAA and joining a dumb idea to use the name umbrella again, they already did that with Neo umbrella from RE 6,
7 and 8 have lost touch with what it was all about,
And whoever dis agrees with me, then I will say this
GO AND PLAY RESIDENT EVIL ALL THE WAY UP TO 6
and take information from them what you see Chris has spent all of his life fighting against Umbrella and being in the BSAA,
What's next Leon becomes the new Hunk?!?!?!
@@jessicasykes2004 agree, RE francise had an Identity Crisis after RE6 (Even tho I like RE7, and RE 8 gameplay, but the story feels disconnected from the rest of francise)
@@fauzanramadhan9046 am glad to see some others understand too, I do believe that 7 and 8 are beautiful games and they are good in the own way but that's the problem their are on their own and not connected anymore, that's why 7 and 8 don't exist to me, only the games from 0 to 6 and of course the CGI movies exist, and they all connected with each other and that's where the story starts and ends for me, I have a beginning and an end, there even some RUclipsrs who have put all the completed story together in one package, including myself but my version is different because I have edited RE zero, RE 1 together and RE 2 and Re 3 remakes together,
The CGI movies together, well am still working on that one, but yeah I have edited to make resident evil even more connected then before,
But with 7 and 8 I can't even edit them to try to connect them because they soo out of touch with all the others, so thanks for agreeing with me because I don't want to feel like if it's something wrong with me because I love resident evil and normally I would be over the moon with having a new resident evil game but I don't feel it with 7 and 8 because the story isn't right 😔
What mostly gets me is Chris being out of character,
That's like having batman changing and being the joker, it just doesn't make sense, you know lol
Maybe the BSAA headquarter part will be a dlc like not a hero instead of being in 9. Either ways Im still hyped.
In re8 he is looking like original Chris not like 7
yeah he looks more bulky
And his face model looks different than resident evil 7
His face model (Geordie Dandy) from RE7 is also the Face model for RE8 but they modified his appearance greatly.
Yeah, i prefer his look in re 8 than in 7
Yes....this was already brought up before
The biggest and best character in the saga.
Turn him into a skinny dude like back in his classic RE days?”
Sorry but I had to vent this out.

In RE7, BSAA joined hands with Blue Umbrella on the Baker incident.
Before RE7, there were an incident involved BSAA tanker transporting Evelyn. The truth: BSAA has a mole inside supporting The Connections and Miranda(results in the crash of the tanker).
