Can you imagine how much money Arnold would make if he released the 100 hours of training footage not used in pumping iron?!?! EVERYONE WOULD BUY IT!!!
I think he is probably set for money bro lol
I doubt he has it. I would assume the director has it if it’s even still around.
For real.. I could watch these dudes train all day
Or they could just read his books and articles where he tells what exercises he does.
@@Hater20X same haha
In 1978 i was down and out in San Diego sitting on the seawall, a young bodybuilder from Wisconsin 18 years old. I had a seabag with clothes, my weight belt, and a copy of Arnolds Education of a Bodybuilder.. a dude picks it up, signs it and as i look up, hands it back to me. It was Arnold himself... Amazing memory. I still pump to this day.
A sea bag? You a squid too?
Today, you would have been mugged while you sat there distracted by the smell of feces and garbage.
and than you woke up
Just another day at the gym....46 long years ago😔. Awesome footage. Arnold really needs to release the rest in a box set.
Tell me about it
I wish they would release more footage of everyone. This stuff is great. Who wouldn't love to watch all these guys train? Learn how they did their movements. For example watching Arnold always using a full range of motion. I bet if they put this in a dvd it would sell well.
Exactly, my thought is that one day it will be available
Arnold was all about full range for sure 💯💪
IF gaines and butler took all them little peices of footage and put them all onto a 1 or 2 hr DVD i would buy it right away, PRICELESS FOOTAGE IMO
Yeah because the weighted stretch is the most productive part of the movement.
I tried to ask him when I went to his show in Wales a couple years ago and he dodged the question completely since we know he bought up all the extra footage and has it and since the behind to scenes to pumping iron was better than the film its self he should put it out but I don't think he wants to be seen in that light anymore since becoming governor
That's a hard core gym. Brings back memories of training in the morning at 6am. No music and the only guys there were the hard-core competitive bodybuilders all Mr Americas Teen Americas, Mr USAs and Mr Universe holders training for that season's competition. The atmosphere was electric and you could feel it as soon as you entered the gym. The motivation and comradary was like nothing you see today. And that is a shame.
In one of those guys that’s unfortunately born in the wrong times. Never really found gyms in Cali that have hardcore old school style bodybuilders like myself. Even the so called classic physique guys dont have the look or spirit.
@@greatbuilder100 I train alone today because the gym scene is dead. No atmosphere and alot of douchebags. When I started I was training for the Teenage Mr America( which I won my class ) in a little rusty hardcore gym called Crown Point Sport and Fitness near Chicago. My training partner owned the gym later he bought a Golds gym. But he was a Mr Universe Mr USA and there were 4 other national title winners training there. The training atmosphere was unbelievable. We would push are selves beyond normal limits. I remember Mike Quinn came to guest pose and he said it was one of the hardest leg training sessions he had ever had. You had to be there to truly appreciate it. Ed Coan would stop in from time to time. Unbelievable workouts.
no handys, no cameras, no fitness hipster, no insta influencer, no music - just blood, sweat and tears. YESSSS
And steroids
no cameras? bruh what uou talking about
Respect to Ed. Guy is over 40 looking fresh
44 to be exact!
That tiny waist and huge chest was unreal, haven't seen a body like this since 1975

Arnold...the most symmetrical and beautiful body of all time...
Arnold has the most symmetrical and beautiful body of all time.*
Greatest of all time, the pioneer of professional bodybuilding. He never had anywhere near the performance enhancers that bodybuilders have today. Absolutely worked his butt off, the consummate professional. Arnie is a living legend.
These guys were some of my heroes in the '70s (yes, I'm old). Somewhere in my house is a letter and workout sent to me by the late, great Mike Mentzer when I wrote to him asking him to set me up with a "Heavy Duty" workout. Those were the days.
0:27 His back is huge!!
Now in the gyms, people workout their fingers and mouths... They're on their damn mobile phones more than the actual gym equipment!
That’s why I’m leaving LA fitness. Too many people talking instead of lifting
im on my phone most of the time but when i do a set i give my all to it it dosen't matter what you're doing in your rest time as long as you're not resting for too long
@@jpfanmajesty6798 you're losing focus and the mind muscle connection. I see weightlifting kinda like meditation. You kinda get in a trance in which its only you and you muscles that you're training. A phone does nothing but to distract you. You can handle 45 mins without your phone right? Just ease your mind and FOCUS.
@@jpfanmajesty6798 most of the time? doing what? concentrate.
I hear ya. No music in the gym for me. Guys think I am nuts, but I just want zero distractions when I am lifting.
This is awesome man...thx for sharing
different angles of the original Gold's that I've never seen before.... so cool
Having seen pumping Iron more times than any other film, this clip may just have slipped through the cracks while editing.
A gem no doubt .
Further shows the solid relationship that Arnold had with Ed during their trainings together.
Arnold has mentioned before that next to Franco, Ed was his next favorite training partner 💪⚡
Arnold said that much of the time in 1975 Franco wasnt available to train with Arnold due to being in schooling to become a chiropractor so he and Corney became training partners that year.
@@brianstrickmaker926 that sounds about right
Eddie was usually living and training up in the bay area and really only came down for Pumping Iron. Ric Drasin was another one of Arnolds training partners when Franco wasnt there too.
I wish I could get more footage...this is priceless! Sure we see Arnold training here, and we all love him in Pumping Iron, but I also found this interesting because we see footage of Ed Corney and Paul Grant and the general mood in The Original Gold's gym back then.
Paul Grant.
you did good geb. these lil snippets are fantastic, inspirational, and motivational for the psyche. i think i will do some flys now. lol.

How savage must you be to pump weights while chewing gum?? 🤣🔥
Totally Thavage
Chewing mint gum helps reduce nausea
i've always chewed gum when working out, or dipping skoal. i never thought of myself as savage, it's just habits i have, one clean, one dirty, lol, still do them today. if lifting real heavy, i chew on a rubber/plastic mouth guard piece, i don't want to crack/break my teeth.
Helps brain activity or something
@@mastermindrational1907 what would make 1 nauseous during a work out? Supplements/foods taken before the workout?
Arnold bought the pumping iron footage awhile ago. Apparently there's 200 hours of film. It's on arnold to release it
I love watching these old school guys train. No commentary, no music. Just steel clanking and lots of grunting!!!
This is great footage. No music, no ads...perfect. Thanks for uploading
I love Arnold, but I can kind of see what Frank Zane was talking about here. Gold's Gym during the filming of Pumping Iron was all about Arnold and I can relate to Frank wanting to find a place where he could focus.
True, that's why this was cut out
arnold was a 5 time mr. o headed into 1975's pumping iron!of course Pumping Iron was all about arnold! why would it not be?you see pumping iron everyone knows the movie, why?= arnold! why would the nfl talk about tom brady and his 7?super bowl wins.....arnold has 7 mr.o's....... get the point?arnold was the whole reason the movie is what is it he was #1 without question bber in the world/ frank zane not in pumping iron but arnold is right? frank zane dont matter!he should have been in pumping iron but it is what it is!
@@mmeatheaddd absolutely. Nobody gave a crap about Zane until Arnold retired. And for a documentary Zane is boring and just as self absorbed as Arnold, he just didn't have Arnolds personality. As you have said, Zane screwed up by not being in Pumping Iron, so did Draper.
Yep..Jealousy plain and simple...Or Envy rather on Zanes part
@@lonemapper I suspect you are spot on about Zane and the others regarding sour grapes and ego, but I disagree about Draper. Draper is a lot less ego than the others and didn't want the limelight and had already drifted away from films.
Ed had a beautiful body. RIP🙏
He did
Slazem se.
Man, that’s old school hardcore working out. You don’t see that anymore in gyms these days. We should change that. 😁
Nowadays they want to showcase their gains on Instagram and Twatter.
This is so great I’ve never seen this
Arnold? Instant click and mandatory like. Thanks golden era channel 😘
Glad you liked it
This footage is Awesome Bookworm-They should put out a "Directors Cut" remastered in 4k with all the extra footage thrown in It would sell like hot cakes i bet.💪
It would sell out in seconds
Arnold would make a million
Love this classic stuff. Well done. Subscribed.
Cool rare footage of Arnold and Ed Corney training. Wow, these guys are huge, especially Arnold. He looked like the Hulk. Lol These guys have mountains of muscle. They Are showing the fruits of their hard training.
Apparently Arnie would have been cast as Hulk but he was too short/tall, so they went with Leou
Arnold era grande 6 pies y 2 y media pulgada pero querian alguien más alto y Lou era más alto que Arnold
We had Arnold's chest device with the springs and four black hand grips, it was a great piece of kit.

Yes.. Bodybuilders from the 70s and 80s had the best physiques. The freak show started in the 90s with Dorian Yates and then Ronnie Coleman took it even further.. They were big and freaky but not pleasing to look at..

I love the old gold’s gym
It is the same dedication that Michael Jordan had! Arnold & Michael share same look in their eyes....I would say it is almost identical. It’s like you get a glimpse of that particular future that you want for yourself to happen & it’s so beautiful in the way that you can’t take your eyes of it because you are afraid to loose it & never find it again, so you become it’s student, you study it in every single detail, you learn from it, you listen what it tells you to do to make that vision be your reality.
When Arnold says two more , you do two more.

Imagine, shirtless in a gym. I wonder how that would go about in modern day 😂
Crazy when you think that we go shirtless at the swimming pool, shirtless at the beach, but not allowed to be shirtless in a gym. Society has changed for the worse. We are prudes nowadays!
