A little backstory behind blue and grey - it's written and produced by V he wrote it in english when he was in depression bcs of many things during covid, he was going to release it in his upcoming album but members really liked the song so they decided to include it in their group album and RM, yoongi and hobi helped him change the lyrics from english to korean 💜

Your information is a bit off. He was inspired by RM saying how his world seemed grey during the pandemic. V certainly helped write it but it wasn’t written in full by him. There are about 7 people accredited with the lyrics. I believe the idea for the song was V’s and I am also sure he wrote the initial thoughts for the lyrics. But it has a lot of fingers in the lyrics other than his.
@@maykacha4987 I'm sorry if it's true that he was inspired by RM i didn't knew that but i didn't wrote all the people who were credited for the lyrics bcs it was his song and his emotions in this song i do believe all rapline themselves wrote their parts but the other parts were definitely written by him and as i said he took help from translators those translators can be lyricists who were good in english so they may helped him write the lyrics. Like we all know he believes in angels and you can see him talk with his angels and that's where the song starts where's my angel? I'm sick and tired of everything (like this the whole song reminds me about him when he was not feeling good)
@kneadcookiedough I think they all know written English pretty well (but also use translators), as well as understanding it. They're all taking lessons and getting better at speaking it during Chapter 2 solos and promotions.
V actually did pretty decently with English (they all gave a lot of effort) when they were on AHL. It was still difficult, but he usually got his point across.
I was fortunate enough to see them in Vegas last year. This performance!!! I started crying at the beginning of Blue & Gray and didn't stop until the end of Black Swan. Beautiful and genuine from start to finish. I will cherish that day for the rest of my life.

You guys should watch the dance practices to get a better view of the choreography. Black Swan dance practice is still my favorite dance practice coz of how beautiful the contemporary is.💜

Blue and Grey is my favorite song even every time I hear it I cry. The song is very deep and emotional, is V feelings during the pandemic time and how he felt. I had the opportunity to watch them in Las Vegas and I don’t expected they are gonna sing it and I began to cry like a baby, worst thing I was alone at the concert. V with this song saved my life I understand that we can suffer from depression and anxiety and keep it by ourselves instead of search for help. I love your channel and keep doing reactions. You were right those aren’t their reflections but pre-recorded images of themselves with each member standing in front of their own image during Blue & Grey. You probably haven’t heard Blue & Grey before as it is one of their more recent tracks off their Be Album. Members involved in the writing of Blue & Grey are RM, Suga, JHope and V with V being credited as a Producer as well.
Oh I wish you saw the lyrics to blue and grey first before you watched a live (or watched a live with eng subs). The lyrics themself are so layered and deep and the main reason I like the song so much (cause it makes it that much more beautiful yk?)

BLUE AND GRAY 🔥🔥🔥V did V justice because it's his song, dwl. It was originally an English song for his mixtape but the members loved it and asked him to use it as a group song so he co wrote and co produced the Korean version.
"Do your thing, do your thing with me, now" "what's my thing, what's my thing, tell me, now" alludes to the theme of Black Swan's lyrics. It's a questioning of why something you're usually passionate about doesn't resonate anymore, doesn't make you feel the same way, a grieving moment. A pleading moment for that thing to do what it's supposed to, and a questioning afterwards of, if this is no longer my 'thing', what is?

BTS did 4 shows in LA at So-Fi stadium at the end of November/beginning of December in 2021. I flew to LA and went to Day 3 and 4. This was filmed on D4, so I was actually there. BTS concerts are completely different from Western concerts. It's a true show, with all kinds of props, short films to give them time for outfit changes and to get some oxygen. They take time to literally just sit and talk to the fans for a few minutes and they actually start on time. Also, I don't know if you've noticed, but all of those lights in the crowd are not cell phone lights. Korean idols have what they call Light Sticks and each group has a design unique to them. BTS light sticks are called ARMY bombs. They use bluetooth to synchronize the ARMY bombs with the ticket holders' seats and then they can put on coordinated light shows, even using the fans' ARMY bombs to spell things out or make a heart. It has a different impact to be a part of a light show like that, instead of just holding up your cell phone on flashlight.

Blue and Grey is one of my favorites. It's so beautiful but sad. You should look at the lyrics. They all sound so amazing but V really shines in this one for me probably because he connects with it since he wrote it.

These two performed live are truly some of the most sublime and beautiful things I’ve seen (only on video not in person). They are both such delicate and meaningful pieces and the way they use the mirrors and how V and Jimins reflections reach for each other at one point). Then the stage arrangement of Black Swan. No one does live shows like BTS even in a song with their backs to a whole stadium.

The rap line is always amazing and I love them, but JHope always hits differently and it is amazing. Black Swan really emphasized JimIn’s dance background in modern dance. The MV and practice videos are great to watch.
I've grown up with music and been to more live shows than I can count... NOTHING compares to seeing BTS LIVE. THIS STAGE was INSANE! I was at all 4 shows in LA. There is another live version of "Blue and Grey" that they did for MTV Unplugged.
I attended the concert where this was filmed and it was indeed life-changing for me. It was my first BTS concert and I feel so lucky to have experienced it in person! 💜

Yes, and that's what this clip is from - the Permission to Dance concert in LA, which is out on Disney+. I also highly recommend it, AND it has English subtitles - at least for the discussion parts of the concert.
Same - you can see the whole swan (introduction) choreo so much more clearly (of course) on Disney+.
So I was there at this exact performance in LA live and it was just so beautiful in person, Blue &Grey sounds so ethereal and Black Swan just felt so otherworldly and haunting live

James, looks like you are definitely on V's wavelength seeing how you were drawn to this. Blue and Grey came out of V's depression when things were getting to be a bit too much to handle. He felt happiness slipping away. Recommended watching this live version on your own if you want. It expresses the song very well. Delivery was outstanding.

I really don't understand why people use a thumbnail of BTS Black Swan performance in the James Corden show but not actually react to that particular performance. Its frustrating for me because that's my fav performances of black swan so I get excited at first but then get disappointed when they actually watch other prfrmance.
What you can’t see are the 60K BTSARMY screaming their lungs out. This was from one of their 4 sold out concerts at SOFI stadium in LA.
This is better then any award winning Broadway show. Tells it's own story and brilliantly executed.

Guys, just a quick tip. When you watch performances/ videos please always write Eng subs after and you will find videos with the English subtitles/ captions. That way, you can understand the lyrics and what they’re saying. Their lyrics are really important and in the case of Blue and Grey, it’s very deep!

I love great music and great dance. So it's hardly surprising how much I love BTS.
Black Swan is already and great song with brilliant and beautiful choreography but I recommend reading the translation. I was moved by how honest, deep, and brutal it was. That’s what makes it such a great song - painful lyrics about personal fragility wrapped in such a delicate and well thought out performance. THIS is but one reason why BTS deserves every award and ounce if success. How they/their team just put things together musically, lyrically, visually is outstanding.
An amazing presentation, both songs well presented. And both songs with very deep lyrics.

The recording was done for their concerts , their preparation is not just singing and dancing , they hve to do videos that is used in the show .. these videos are usually played on screen in btw songs while they change etc so the audience is always captivated or as introduction to specific songs etc ..

Blue and Grey es extraordinaria canción de V. Ha tocado muchas vidas. En lo personal creo que es la mejor canción de BTS. Desde el punto de vista de la poesía. Debió ser cantada en inglés sólo por Taehyung pero como siempre él antepuso su gran generosidad. Ha sido consagrada como una de las 15 mejores canciones de BTS bilboard 100. Kim Taehyung demostró que no es un aficionado. Que su estilo profundo y metafórico es inigualable. Te pone en contacto con tus penas profundas y te conforta. Amo a V. Es un alma vieja. Blue & Gray was part of their "Be" album. Unfortunately, it's one of their lesser known albums because it had no bangers on it (although they put their single Dynamite on it) but it was their pandemic album and a I think a masterpiece of storytelling & capturing the mood of those 2 years in lockdown. Songs like Life Goes On, Dis-ease & Fly to My Room (speaking to they were flying all over the world & just about to kick off a global stadium tour but instead were in lockdown just Flying to My Room).
