Have you seen the survival show on TV called alone? I'd love to see you compete on there. I believe the grand prize is a million dollars. Plus think of the national attention you could bring to your cause
I was in a gun auction in pennsylvania, and a young amish farmer came walking up with a model P1917 .30-06 rifle. His grandfather has been issued it in world war I. We bought it, he bought a 20 gauge double, pocketing the difference. It was in beautiful shape, but still full of cosmoline. I mean, I took it apart to basic pieces and cleaned all that gunk out. Not fired much.
The Amish near us only use muzzleloaders and single shot or double barrel shotguns. The community here has varied rules on what is or isn't worldly. It's strange, the guns have to be very simple, no modern brass cartridges, but they are permitted to borrow things like tractors or chainsaws, and they own modern electric and pneumatic tools. Confuses me sometimes.
It all depends on the needs of the community. The community votes on what will or will not be allowed. Thus one community may vote no to indoor plumbing, whilst another community down the road votes yes to it. On biblical issues that are written in the Bible, all communities will be almost identical in practice, but on issues not mentioned in the Bible, such as using tractors, bulk milk storage, cell phones, etc., each community will decide for themselves what to allow or not allow. What is amazing, that even with unlimited freedom to vote in almost anything they want, the diverse individual communities remain so similar in their decisions.
@@eliyoder491 I think you need to look up the meaning of religious hypocrisy, for example you claiming to follow the Bible whilst wearing jewelry in violation of 1Tim. 2:9 and 1Pet. 3:3, is an example of religious hypocrisy.
@@broz1488 wow do I feel a self-righteous Pharisee spirit coming from you my friend. Please pray in the spirit and ask for spiritual discernment, so that you can rightly divide the word of God, my friend.
@@eliyoder491 my friend, you can duck and dive and play games, but what is written in the Bible is written. Do you think calling me a Pharisee will intimidate me to silence? Did Jesus not say that we should be more righteous than the Pharisees? If anything, calling me a Pharisee would imply that I am not strict enough, only when you say that I am worse than the Pharisees, then perhaps I can say praise Jesus, I am on the narrow path. Jokes aside, do you have an explanation for your disobedience, or is insults your only reply? Yes my friend, if you want to hold yourself up as being more righteous than the Amish, more obedient than the Amish, more God fearing than the Amish, then I had better see evidence of it. Evidence that inspires me to say, I want to sit at Eli's feet and learn Scripture from him, for his lifestyle and teachings shows me that he knows the narrow path that leads to salvation better than anyone I know. If you think your emotionalism and feelings are going to get you into heaven, read Matt 7:21-23. And 2John 1:9; Luke 6:46; John 14:15&23. Let the witness of Scripture tell you that obedience is the narrow path and not emotionalism. Yes my friend, it may be easy to bamboozle people ignorant of the Bible along with Catholics and Protestants who don't believe in the orthopraxy of the Bible, but I am not them.

wild to me that some people would say that human invention and creativity is not allowed. and how envious and judgmental people are when it's literally not allowed biblically. gosip too. its like so many people try to live by the bible and don't even understand that it's literally about balancing things properly in life. mostly don't overdo or over use things because it can lead to problems and things like that.
Eli What do you think about the modern off-grid movement? Those who live in tiny houses, RVs or cabins and do their best to go off grid. For example, the best place near here to buy things to go off grid, is a store run by the Amish in Hart County that sells and installs solar and sells all the sorted 12v and 20v equipment (lights and such) alongside repairing old time wringer washer machines. And that order is allowed to have solar and the businesses all have phones and computers but those are not allowed at their personal homes. I myself, live in an RV, so almost everything is powered by batteries or propane and it would be easy to go off grid once I can afford to have the proper set up
Amish may have exemption, but if everyone did that, the game would be extinct. We have wildlife management and hunting seasons which take into account the animals' life cycle for preservation of the species.
Hi Eli- TY for sharing; I did learn some thing new. I do have to agree about the buggy and having more lights or the triangle as yes I read about a bad accident between car/ buggy a few weeks back. Sounds like you'd like those buckskinner magazines.
I'd love to hear what kind of meals your mother made! Also, since your not using your tax exemption code anymore, can I use it? Thanks. 😂
😂
Great video. First full length video I've watched of yours. It's been just the shorts up until now.
Yeah I seen that Amish what allowed certain types of firearms one RUclips site was giving tours of Amish homes in one in the bedroom there was a rifle rack with a single Remington 800 shotgun
Damn! They Had a Remmy 800
Hey , Goofus? The "Remington 800" is a HAIR DRYER .
Perhaps you mean the 870 , which is the pump-action Wingmaster.
@@RandomManIncorperatedand you're just as much of a Goofus for agreeing with him !
Nice hairdryer😂
@@Richie_the_Fixer Remington 800 I'm using talking about the 870 moron
@@Richie_the_Fixer Oh Really?
Then Why Does 870 Come up When You Type Remington 800 into Google
Its not for me to say who wants/owes what. I see no need for alot of stuff but im only responcible for me. I cant judge! Safe travels Ellie
Just wanna say I like your videos. I have always wondered some of these things.
What are the rules on changing from 1 community to another maybe less strict community? Great content thanks for informing us on this lifestyle.
He's spoken about it before
Us English folk in Pennsylvania get a bee-bee gun on our 12 birthday, then a 22 when they get a hunters license. My dad had 30 with a scope and that would give you a black eye! Lol ! Being a girl we shot pop cans and glass jars. We all did guns. I believe in needing to bare arms. Good video !
I'm enjoying your stories. I saw you on youtube shorts and I'm enjoying this stuff you seem like a cool dude.
This Social Media is too worldly!
I know this is a video that is a year old and you probably won't read this, but I have to comment.
This video convinced me to subscribe to you, it made me think about stuff I have tried to ignore. So thank you. Keep it up!
My dad had an old civil war .22 with the scope. We would shoot off blanks out the bedroom window on the 4th of July!
It’s nothing but religious hypocrisy that’s all it is
It all depends on the needs of the community.
I always though the Amish just went around with flint locks, using homemade black powder.
I figured .22 would be common and shotguns because theyre so old they were around when wells faego delivered gold on a horse and carriage
That Would A Slow Gun Fight
It Takes Everybody Two Minutes To Load Their Muskets & No One Would Hit Anything at Long Range
I have a question Eli.
Q: Do Amish celebrate the 4th of July?
It’s probably an easy google question but I’d thought I’d keep it interesting and have you tell it.
i have family near a Amish community ... she would can pears and sell them ... the Amish kids would come take her pears off her tree ... she seen them one day ... went out and told them to stop ... the kids said god created the pears they was gods pears and they could have as many as they wanted ... she said ok i'll be coming over today to get a few hogs ... the kids said those was their hogs ... she said no those was made by god and they are gods hogs ,,, they went home and told there folks and they would buy pears from her ... lol ... still do to this day ... lol
What I heard was a country boy can survive! Do you like Hank Williams Jr? Hello from Iowa, Eli. Love your channel and I encourage you to keep it up :)
I love how 30 06 is ok but drop the diameter to 270 and then it's a problem
“We’ll I think they ALL have guns… cough cough” 😂😂 don’t f with the Amish at least they hold that value still!
What is strange about the whole "of the world" how do they think iron/steel is made? The more I have read about some of the Amish sects, the more they seem like a cult.
That’s because they are.
22 is such a cheap and quiet round cant go wrong with it
Please make a video about the "survival" teachings of the Amish. That would be awesome. If you already have one can you link it please.
I was at a gun show in Wisconsin Beloit few years ago there was a amish man with his boys must have been six or seven of them right behind him they were all dressed identical I don't know if he bought any guns or not but I thought it was interesting I have respect for them
wild to me that some people would say that human invention and creativity is not allowed. and how envious and judgmental people are when it's literally not allowed biblically. gosip too. its like so many people try to live by the bible and don't even understand that it's literally about balancing things properly in life. mostly don't overdo or over use things because it can lead to problems and things like that.
Humanity is sinful at times. Plenty of Lancaster,Pa. Amish men caught in intimate scandals.....& such.
I like the video. Everyone should abandon TikTok. Chinese owned and take your privacy.
i love this thank you !
Values are good to know. That would be good to learn. Be able to live without stores electricity.
I thought AR was for Amish Rifle......
Yep probably the One thing the Amish got right ... Don't be surprised if some changes occur - prayer gets answers!
Selective in what is “of the world” when it benefits them.
Be safe out there Eli! Lifting up prayers for ya.
Those steel buggy wheels really destroy the roads!
I thought they upgraded to a rubber surfaced wheel to stop that
Most damage is done by the horses hooves digging into the blacktop. Around Lancaster PA. the road is grooved down 2 inches at the hoof track.
@@TheAnnoyingBoss the community near me has hard rubber tires on the wheels. State law doesn't allow steel on paved roads.
I'm amazed tic-tac-toe has standards with some of the junk I've seen on there I don't think they really do.
Eli
What do you think about the modern off-grid movement?
Those who live in tiny houses, RVs or cabins and do their best to go off grid.
For example, the best place near here to buy things to go off grid, is a store run by the Amish in Hart County that sells and installs solar and sells all the sorted 12v and 20v equipment (lights and such) alongside repairing old time wringer washer machines. And that order is allowed to have solar and the businesses all have phones and computers but those are not allowed at their personal homes.
I myself, live in an RV, so almost everything is powered by batteries or propane and it would be easy to go off grid once I can afford to have the proper set up
Your a great preacher
I've not done it out of season, but I do think it should be fine to harvest a wild animal on your own land if it will be used for food.
Most states allow farmers to harvest out of season as long as they eat it.
The community should be more concerned on your protection/safety while in that buggy not the man made rules/worldly rules. I hope you feel better.. God Bless. and yes I listen to you, when you have Bible lessons!! stay safe.
I will have more Bible lessons coming up so stay tuned
I've Seen Videos of Those Buggy Crashes They Really Do Need those Triangles Cause The Horses Always Get Hurt When it Happens

You'd be hard pressed to find an Amish person in Logan County, Ohio who DOESN'T own a gun. Some have solar panels and even mobile phones.
