That auto off feature is unfortunate. Always on or shake awake would be better. I guess you could just reset it at night before you lay down and before you leave the house.
Everyone makes a huge deal about the 16 hour auto off. Just press the button once when you go to bed and once when you wake up. Why is this so hard for people to understand?
Actually when you turn it on, it starts at mid range, you have to work your way down in brightness then come back around to the high setting!!! It came with my XDM elite and I actually found the vortex venom I had to be a MUCH crisper sight!!! and they are $250!!!

I own a XDM Elite OSP 3.8. I bought the Dragonfly separately and installed is about 10 days ago. This was meant to be my carry gun. I have to say that I am somewhat disappointed. This is a shooting range optic, not for self-defense in my opinion. I really doubt the need for red dot optics at close range, under intense stress in typical a self defense scenario. You just won't have time to look for the red dot in that tiny window.
Not a fan of this optic. Companies just need to stick with RMR cuts; and having to take it off and re-zero is just backwards garbage RMR stuff. Sure you don't have to do it for a while. But I don't want to do it at all when there's better options now like Holosun and Vortex to name a couple.
I bought the XD-M Elite Compact 3.8 in 45 ACP, it came with the HEX Dragonfly. I have run a lot of rounds thru the gun and to date I have only one complaint. I wish they had set the iron sights higher (suppressor height) so I could co-witness.
@@oneslackr I did. The question is if the manufacturer make the pistol optic ready they should also build it with suppressor height iron sights. I think you missed the whole point.

Do you approve of Dragonfly? I have an XDM Elite OSP and the importer received the Hex Dragonfly! I'm from Brazil! Around here we have a lot of Vortex and Holosun! And I confess that I was looking forward to the arrival of Dragonfly! You as you have much more experience and varieties in your country... Would you approve the purchase of a Dragonfly having the possibility of acquiring a Holosun? Or would Dragonfly hold as long as a Holosun? A big hug!
as for me the xdm elite is made by spring field and so is the dragonfly hell you can buy them together from spring field when there available I know in 9mm and 10mm xdm
No offense, but you can’t claim “for $200 it’s a pretty good optic!” After not doing one drop test/enhanced firing schedule/cold-hot test/return to zero . Come on, man
While shake awake is cool if this Hex is on a gun you have at home for self defense then someone could just turn this Hex on when they get ready to go to bed since it stays on for 16 hours. Or if it's on their EDC they could just turn it on when they leave their house & they'll be good to go for 16 hours. Not that big of a deal if you really think about it. Though I wouldn't run out & buy a Hex over a Holosun but if I bought a Springfield that already came with the Hex as a package (some Springfields do) then it's an ok red dot.

Yeah I just watched this video figuring out why mine wasn't on when drawing my weapon. Its a shame you cant just turn that feature off.

Yeah, but how much do you have to pay for the plate from Springfield? I just got an XD elite compact and someone told me the plates like $100.00!

I have one red dot on one of my pistols the rest don't. Still not 100% sure about them myself.

Dragonfly is OK but wouldn't be my first choice. I would take Holosun before Dragonfly
