True. In reflection it was a great ministry that they had. They may have gotten over their heads with all the fund raising towards the end to build their theme park up too fast but in the end they really did nothing wrong. Look at all the famous singers and stars with beautiful homes and clothes and so on. Everyone dreams of having nice things so what was the difference? So much goodness and greatness is what I will always remember from their programs.
Drugs, sex and greed took the Bakkers down. Tammy could really play to people's emotions with that innocent, little girl persona that could cry on cue, but make no mistake, she loved popping pills and spending money to excess...money from people that trusted Jim and Tammy. Money those gullible folks probably could have used themselves for just the basics, instead it funded the Bakkers extravagant lifestyle. Tammy's gone now and Jim's back on TV, still scamming the religiously indoctrinated. It's pathetic.
She was the real deal. Such a joyful and earnest faith. I don't practice the same faith but it's impossible not to be affected by her warm and authentic spirit
I don't care what anyone says, I love disco, Tammy Faye and I love this song. I give Tammy a ton of credit for actually being versatile enough to go into a totally different register here. I always enjoyed her voice. Besides for a gospel song, this is pure fun!
Bless her heart. This is awful. She never could sing her way out of a paper bag. Just livin' the dream because she had access to $$$ and Jim was her husband. Gary S. Paxton songs were really weird. Most of them weren't any good...and were only "OK" when he did them. If anybody else did them, they really sucked. No Shortage by the Imperials is one exception. She and Gary were totally gettin' it on. He never would admit it. though.
She could sing, her voice wasn't exceptional to some listeners but in person she could really, really put over a song and perform it with astonishing conviction. This effort however was an attempt to attract younger followers during the Disco dance craze and it is I admit a mish-mosh of I don't know what - Tammy had tremendous charisma and stage presence and on tunes such as "don't give up" and "you can make it" she fares much better.
I’m here after watching The Eyes of Tammy Faye Baker
Me too !! 😃 watched it for the first time today.. Actually a good movie.. Got better understanding also of what happened..
@@Thomaschapmanbfc sooo good. Woman just wanted to do good in the world. And she did
Tht movie was good
Loved the disabled, loved the gays, forgave people that betrayed her and family...Tammy is higher, and in heaven.

Scott Bachmann Please listen to her rendition of Amazing Grace, she was not a bad singer in the slightest; this is a bad song, though

The Bible says “make a joyful noise unto the lord” you don’t have to sound good, as long as your praise is true...
Jim was out fucking men and she was home popping pills and and albums
She could sing.
