I have an episode of this great gameshow myself. This was during the era after the Broadcasting Act of 1990 (which didn't actually commence until New Years Day 1993) deregulated how much money gameshows were allowed to give away in cash. There were actually quite a lot of them, Bruce's Price Is Right, Wheel of Fortune, Play Your Cards Right, Talking Telephone Numbers, Raise The Roof and then of course the big one Millionaire. And the thing they all had in common is that they were all sponsored by tabloid newspapers like The Sun, Mirror and Express
Ah, it's another one of those ITV shows which tried to steal some of that sweet lottery fever. The thinking seemed to be that viewers could be easily fooled into believing that they were watching the National Lottery, if you bombard them with plenty enough numbers and balls, have a -lottery- bingo machine, give them gamecards to play along at home. And what's the betting that they rigged the contestant selection by pre-loading the blow tube with the balls of the people the producers wanted to play the game? Sure, we can see some balls whirling around, but there's no John Willan to inspect the thing and ensure fair play.
Nick Weir would have been a better host as demonstrated in the unaired pilot. Probably would have set him up to be a household name. Shane richie is trying to act like Nick Weir catchphrase era here.
