This is a longplay of game Super Mario Bros - The Lost Levels, originally released for the NES and Famicom Disk System and is a direct sequel to Super Mario Bros! This game in the NES and FDS version was only released exclusively in Japan and only came to the west in the collection Super Mario All-Stars! This is considered one of the most difficult official Mario games ever released and an immortal classic. It is possible to play with Mario (more agile on the ground) or Luigi (who has higher heels). The video shows all stages, no warp was used in that playthrough. This video was recorerd with Mario. The Luigi game was released! Hope you enjoy!
In my opinion you are the most impressive NES and SNES longplayer I've seen so far. You care not only about passing through the game, but showing the audience all possible paths of solving the problem, interesting tricks and "easter eggs". Thank you for your effort.

I have the feeling that this is a "TAS" gameplay...
For anyone who’s confused with 6:39, lemme explain. He used a wall jump glitch. Basically, when running at a wall, a part of Mario will be stuck on the wall for one frame. Jump in that frame to perform the glitch. You’re supposed to find 2 invisible blocks to get on a pipe above and jump across that way.

All the GBA has is super mario bros deluxe and "SMB1 retro NES" which both use the original art and music, and only Deluxe has LL included after you beat the game, but the screen is too small and cuts off so much of your field of view

Fun fact: It’s impossible to get 5,000 pts. on the flagpole as any variation of Mario on 2-3 and 8-2 due to the jump being too long. This is an oversight on Nintendo’s part and only Luigi can achieve this.

I loved this game as a kid. I loved the added graphics like the giant chess piece statues in the bridge levels and the portraits of Bowser in the castle levels. The underground levels the way they were reworked made them look like castle basements. I ended up thinking of X-1 as the field outside of the castle, X-2 as the castle's basement, X-3 as the courtyard, and X-4 as the castle itself. I think the All-Stars remakes were the first time we saw Princess Peach (then known as Princess Toadstool) looking as she looks today. Before she had brown hair, red hair, and different dress colors. Only things I didn't like about the remake were the black and white levels being colorized, should have left them in black and white.
I couldn't stand Lakitu or The Hammer Bros., I would always try to dodge the spiny shells and hammers and I still get hit 😂😂😂😂😂
@@Dee_Nice89 They were definitely the enemies every Mario player loves to hate. It's always fun to have a fire flower and blast them. It's funny how back in the Super Mario Bros days, the fire flower was the big cheese of powerups, nowadays it's a starter powerup that isn't used much outside of the first levels or special ice levels.

Seven years before this was first sighted in All-Stars, its original 8-bit game was only released in Japan due to its high difficulty.
Howard Phillips was up in arms over this when he initially playtested the game here in the U.S. in 1987, that he had Nintendo of America send the game back to Japan and be replaced with a modified version of Doki Doki Panic that we call Super Mario 2, which he did approve and went on sale here in October 1988.

I had beaten Lost Levels myself, as Luigi. I couldn't get World 9, though. It is hard as hell, but the SNES remaster has a bit of mercy just like the other games compared to the NES originals, especially Super Mario 2. I think All Stars Lost Levels is the only time where Luigi in his proper look did his unique high jumps but never kicked his legs. One thing, the overworld music (and sounds) in the Super NES is awesome. To the player who did this, well done.
You cannot skip over any of the first eight worlds -- that is, do NOT use any warp zones, period -- if you really want to do World 9.
In the original FDS release, using one of the two backwards warp zones ONCE (in 3-1 or 8-1) to go back and get the worlds you may have skipped over will not void you the right to do World 9.

Essas resoluções altas de emuladores de videogames antigos são considerados nativos ou upscalling?
Na hora que faço o encoding eu já extraio o vídeo e, em seguida na pós-produção, é feito o upscalling proporcional em 2x, 4x ou até 8x (isso dependendo de qual vídeo e de qual console, se o console for de alta resolução como o PSX basta 2x mas consoles portáteis que tem resolução mais baixa fico com 8x, sempre em números pares). Para que o vídeo fique em HD e com 60FPS no RUclips é necessário que a resolução do mesmo esteja com, ao menos 720p, para ser possível. No caso dos games de SNES, em sua grande maioria a resolução deles é 256x224 e o upscalling é feito de forma proporcional e com os softwares corretos para respeitar a resolução do jogo, no caso esse vídeo ficou em 2048x1792, mas é só pegar um dos números e dividir seguidas vezes por 2 que você verá que a resolução é proporcional a nativa do console.

I always thought that the USA version of SMB2 was a lot better, actually different in gameplay style and making new things and introducing tons of classic new things. This barely changed anything.
I agree. It was also the game that pushed NES into the beast it was in the USA. Parents waiting in lines early in the morning for SMB2….Driving to different states to try and get the game. Something uncommon in that time.

Imagine if there was a game called The Legend of Zelda: The Forbidden Dungeons. It would just be a rom hack of Zelda 1 but harder. Zelda 1 was already pretty hard and confusing to begin with. Actually most Zelda games are hard and confusing well except Twilight Princess and Breath of the Wild. So Imagine if Forbidden Dungeons were in Lost Levels level of hard.
