  • Set Behind Perch Rock Fort you find Perch Rock Lighthouse (New Brighton Lighthouse) in Wallasey, Liverpool.
Easy to access and only minutes from free car parking this is a great place to photograph with lots of foreground interest when the tide recedes.
I was lucky to arrive on a moody day when the sidelight was penetrating below the ominous clouds, making for some of my favourite images from my trip so far...
Have you ever dreamed of quitting work and doing what you want to do?
I did and decided it was going to happen!
Hi, my names Steve Wright (Roaming Photography), and my passion is Landscape Photography. Join me as I travel from Landsend in Cornwall all the way to the far reaches of Scotland in my ropey old van visiting the the most stunning locations the UK has to offer!
I saved just enough to pay my bills and give me a small weekly budget till I get back, it is going to be tight, these aren't once in a lifetime opportunities, you have to be willing to make them happen.
I hope you are at least inspired to visit some of these phenomenal places, or to set off on your own adventures, and hope to see you all again real soon.
    Thanks!
    Steve

The image with the green, mossy rocks in the foreground and sun shining on them came out great. I think the light really made that image stand out.

Thank you Harold, its amazing the difference some good light makes to a scene, it brings everything to life and adds some depth.

Thanks Paul, thats the thing, we are dealt a hand by the weather gods and its not always a good one. But often bad weather is better than blue skies lol

Thank you for the kind words, yes a big sigh of relief it was just the polariser, thankfully it hit the sand and not the rocks!

Whats bracketing and focus stacking, oh and what does the polariser do ?
Love the photos they are stunning my favourite so far 😊

The polariser reduces reflections and glare and helps to bring out colour (like a pair of sunglasses), works best when the sun is 90 degrees away from the direction you are pointing the camera.
(Exposure) bracketing is used when the camera is not able to expose everything in the scene correctly. You take multiple exposures and blend them together in software to create the image with all the details exposed for.
You use focus stacking to get everything in the image in focus. It is not always possible for the camera to get everything in focus, so you take multiple images focusing on different points in the scene and blend them together in software.
      Hope this helps 😀
