Welcome to Power Honor! Join host "Pixel Dan" Eardley as he takes you on a tour through the World of Masters of the Universe toys! In each installment, you'll get a look at a different action figure, playset, or vehicle from one of the various MOTU toy lines, including the vintage line, Princess of Power, New Adventures, 200x, and more!
In episode four, Dan looks at the original Princess of Power from 1984! It's the most powerful woman in the universe, She-Ra! Развлечения
Funny enough, He-Man and co showed up several times in She-Ra and several of the horde members like Catra and Leech were in different toylines, funny enough hero figures like Snout Spout appeared in he man even Modulock appeared in he man way before he did in she ra
She-ra & co. having realistic hair just made them prettier &, in as much as a doll can be sexy, more so. They still had all the action figure boons, like the action waist, and they wre to scale. Most importantly, She-ra greatly added to the mythos & the He-Man story. Previously, his family background had been very flat, storywise, other than his mom being from Earth. The She-ra dynamic gave Prince Adam/He-Man this classic dark fairytale motif of the child sibling stolen away by an evil warlock/warlord from otherworld, and an element of Shakespearean drama. Getting back to the toys though, frankly, if "gaying things up" was the concern, a lad only wanting half-naked He-Man & his buddy Fisto is more suspect than a lad wanting a supermodel looking warrior Catra to tango with He-Man.
Also, let's not forget, how Filmation adapted Masters of the Universe into a cartoon was already hell a gay as it is. The undertones were ALL OVER THE PLACE in that thing.
Nice video...For the Honor!
WOW thats brought back memorys i loved she-Ra i got the figure and still have it in storage my brother had He-man too we would re- create scene's tall the time.
Great review Pixel Dan!
she ra princess of power is a cool toy line
I had both toylines.
brush that hair pixel dan!
6:02 what about the Evil Horde and Snoutspout, and the snake men, and the rock men.
THEY BRING GIRLS AND BOYS PLAY MOTU TOGETHER CLEVER
The first PRINCESS OF POWER line came out in 1985 in the US. One year later in Europe...
This SHE-RA is the "Made In China" issue. There are some different variants as "Made In Taiwan" releases.
I used to play with my sister I have a He-Man she a She-Ra
LOL! So I'm a dude right...and I collected He-Mans...I remember my grandma got me a Princess of Power for Christmas one year. Don't ask me how you mistake that for a He-Man...there's not even any indication that the two toy lines are related...but I opened the wrapping paper and there she was in a big burst of pink.
Worse, I wound up keeping it, and then since I just had a sister, we wound up playing with my He-Mans and one She-Ra like they were dolls, had them go on dates, go shopping together, etc. Just when you thought He-Man, with his furry short shorts and harness and blond pageboy and deep tan, couldn't be ANY gayer...
She-Ra is his sister, so it was incest too.
ScinLaeca358 Ha ha dear grand-mas of the world.
@Ugly Troll How many gays had a wife and kids in the past? Tons! 😉
I could understand the figure being a girl's toy but they could have made the sword a bit better.
We can totally confirm, She-Ra is not a dinosaur.
1st comment nice review
lets keep a open mind fellas this line was mainly for the females we had HE -MAN

I feel like girls probably still would have played with She-Ra without the doll hair. The doll hair and the goofy mini sword are the only things about this figure that really bug me.
You can advertise anything to kids though through television I had that she ra doll and pound puppies and cabbage patch kid and Mom said the Strawberry Shortcake I wanted when I was 3 sent her all over town it was sold out. Brats.

@@gibranlewis7300 "Gaying things up" was never really my concern (I'm Bi so it doesn't bother me.) The realistic hair bugs me for 2 reasons. 1: It doesn't match the other toys so they look weird next to each other and 2: The realistic hair can get irreversably stuck in one position if you aren't careful.
@@patrickj994 That's good that the aforementioned wasn't your concern: scroll through the comments & you find that, even now, such silly rationale still factors in with many. As to the fit, even with the hair, they matched well enough: for one thing, Barbie & Ken have the same hair difference, i.e. Ken's is molded ( though originally it was flocked, and originally He-Man's was supposed to be realistic ), but add to that the fact that there are more stark differences among other MOTU toys than hair: Teela, Evil-Lyn & some of the male figures have hard plastic heads, whereas He-Man's & Skeletor's are softer/rubbery like She-ra's ( I guess it's a genetic trait of the house of old King Miro lol ), and that's nothing compared to some of the other more major differences, like Mossman's flocking, Ram-Man's body & Buzz-Off's everything lol. If the molding difference is passable in the Barbie line, where everyone ( at least until recently ) otherwise had the same basic male or female build, it certainly isn't a deal-breaker in the MOTUPOP line, where some characters have more than one face, others have claws, many have peculiar heads and or faces etc.
My sisters had teh She-Ra toys when we were young... Being the eldest of the three of us, I had long since moved on (I was back on Star Wars and Transformers by the time She-Ra was around...)...
It never really lasted with them, But I still had Snake Mountain and numerous He-Man Figures - I had seen teh cartoon so I kind of adopted them... Including She-Ra's Castle!!!
As for the figures, I have to be fair, they get quite a bad rap from fans to be honest... They were actually very good in many respects... Sometimes better than the predecessors. No Loose Legs on the She-Ra Range!
But they had duds too! That Male Figure with the Beating heart... DAMN THAT WAS NOT ONLY CORNY BUT TERRIBLE!!! The Sculpt was awful, the Heart was just a piece of paper... It was DULL!
She-Ra WAS just a rehash of many He-Man ideas (Double Trouble = Female Version of Man-E--Faces) but they were still very good in their own right.
Oh! I don't I feel embarrassed admitting I played with 'Girls Toys??? No - Not really!
Long before He-Man, My sisters both had the Sindy Luxury Home (The British Version of Barbie and her Dream Home...) - Two MASSIVE Playsets that stood almost 5 foot tall!!! They played with them for about 6 months before they stood gathering dust...
... That's when they became THE DEATH STAR to me!!! What with the working lifts and multiple floors... All it needed was a fertile imagination!!!
I really hate this doll line, way too many things are different when they don't need to be, and for the worse, the Filmation look is the RIGHT look.
Nice review either way.
I don't think same... I always would prefer the toyline design of Princess Of Power... there are more details. I still hope Mattel release a commemorative collection of them, like Masters Of The Universe.
The new reboot is a disservice to the legacy of She-Ra
It's a different take on She-Ra, and I actually like it
Have you even watched it, it’s a good show, just because it’s a reboot doesn’t make it awful, or a disservice
Well I can see why Mattel is not making toys of this dead on arrival reboot. Shame it doesn't do something different and make Catra the new protagonist. Enjoy your show where the original She-Ra voice actress defends old time fans from the new show runners calling them lame old grandpas with a badly animated show.
Wandering Oryx look, I under stand if you like your old show, but you can still watch that, it’s not like the new show is a replacement, it’s a remake, I doubt you even watched the new one, and only saw the first concept art and thought “well this will suck”, just give it a chance, and just remember if you look at the old show it’s probably not as groundbreaking as you remember, and if it was about catra, fans would be mad for it being about her and not she ra, it be like if they made a man at arms show before a new he man, it would be cool but you need to know fans would be mad, if you want a catra show, then wait for this show to be successful, and for toys, Super 7 made some figures of She ra and Catra, so most likely we will get more, just give the show a chance, and just remember it’s to introduce She ra to a new audience
Wandering Oryx also it has 100% on rotten tomatoes
Too me when I saw these things in stores I had to laugh how stupid they looked ro the MOTU line

My little pony was the best show though a doll would not do I had to have riding lessons join the royal quarter horse association feed them groom them ride them at 8 win at competitions with best yearling stud etc. Some kids are deprived and just live in fantasy.
My fuckin sister had this figure
that sword SUCKS
Next generation still calls this series out as a gay line =.= except me. LMAO!

Now you’re Playing with dolls WTF
Kids used to steal Teela from the stores
Who says he can’t?
They're all dolls, as my mean old neighbour used to tell me. Ken has molded hair, he's still a doll.
