  • Hello, and welcome to a Christmas Special train trip report on my channel. First off, I would like to wish all of my viewers a Merry Christmas.
This video is on the new Stadler FLIRT units in Belarus, which look a little different than the usual ones you may be used to. I took these modern and pleasant trains on the non-stop trip from Minsk-Pass in the capital of Belarus, to Gomel-Pass, in the second largest city.
This is of course a premier route, and these trains have some nice features, including comfortable seating, first class, and a buffet bar. The two trainsets were both built locally at Stadler Fanipol, and since their construction, orders for more units have been placed.
Have a lovely day, and I hope you enjoy the video! :)

As a native Belarussian 🤍❤️🤍, I appreciate your work! Been to the UK only once, sadly. I hope, I’ll be able to come there again to travel by train!

In Slovenia, we are now getting new Flirt and Kiss units made in Stadler Fanipol factory. The new trains for Norway and Hungary are "Belarussian Stadlers" too. So they started to export into "normal gauge Europe" while they were mainly "broad gauge factory" at the beginning.
Interesting to see Czech seats inside. All in all a very nice train.

At the moment all Estonia's commuter trains are Stadler Flirt trains since 2012 - 2014, very similar to the ones in Helsinki. We don't have any "retro" trains since they were old and inaccessible for wheelchairs and strollers.

I live here in Homel. I'd tell some facts about this train.
Firstly, there's a really big miss that you haven't try 2-class seats. They were constructed for commuter trains (at least it's easy to find seats in this design in commuter stadlers all over the europe. They DEFINITELY do not fit for 3-3,5 hour ride. Also, seats above bogies (and often on every end of cars) are situated in face-to-face way with small space in between. Even being teenager, it's difficult to tell it could be a comfortable ride on these seats.
As you mentioned, 1-class section is too small. That means, you have to buy tickets earlier, otherwise you'll be suffering in uncomfortable seat. That is not good at all.
Also you could find, that track's condition is not fantastic. Although train technical max speed is about 200 kmh, it goes really slow on old tracks. BelRailway just do not use all abilities they have, that could in some way make journeys better.
But I am really happy, that you have visited my city and told about our trains. Thank you!!

Thanks, Superalbs Travels! I just discovered your channel, this is the first video I watch on your channel, I just subscribed. I am a huge fanatic of trains. It is good, your video. My name is Louis, I am French. I'm browsing your old videos. Which ones do you recommend me to see first? Hmm hmm. Happy New Year 2021 to you, and with a little delay, Merry Christmas. You showed us a fast food restaurant on video. You make me hungry, I love it. Thanks to you. See you soon.

Very nice. I just subscribed ☺. The 2+3 seating is reminiscent of our local commuter railroad, Metro North. Runs from New Haven, CONNECTICUT, to NYC.

6:43 wi fi requires local SIM card to log in, it's not super fast, depends on cell coverage, but works

Looks ok. The EPr sets in 2 class are very bad. I prefer kupe cars, or in daytime trains plackartny. Merry Christmas.

As Stadler are to manufacture the Class 231 and Class 756 for Transport for Wales. Maybe they could manufacture new trains such as for Southern to replace the Class 313 and Class 455. And they could build a UK train manufacturing plant in the Midlands or Northern England to continue with the mass production of the Stadler Flirt rolling stocks.

To be honest, in Belarus (and in Ukraine) everything is really cheap. Train journeys are just a part of that.

As an example, the Kyiv Metro costs £0.21 per ride and an 8GB SIM card will set you back about £2.50.
