Hi EXOVCDS, On the ATF lines going to the radiator, the o-rings are between two metal rings. I can't seem to get these back in past the first metal ring and the o-ring. i've tried wiggling pushing lightly, hard, etc. any suggestions? thanks, mike
Can removing the radiator be a shortcut to just install a new belt tensioner? I already did my timing belt but something happened to my cam gear which required me to remove it. So I need to loosen the belt to get it on the new cam gear. I need to remove the plastic cover thats in front of the tensioner. Could this work to give me the room I need? I would put in service mode but I stripped the T45 bolt on the carrier and can't remove it.
Symtoms of a bad radiator? Or bad thermostat car is over heating no leaks takes blows hot air out from heater only under load. No milky oil or steam out tail pipes
Nay Cee Heat only under load (higher rpm) suggests looks water pump impeller. Year, make, model, engine? Restricted radiator will cause hot running / overheating.
Can I get away with not adding atf fluid to the transmission after doing this? I need to drive the car almost 400 miles one way and then return later in the week. I would rather not have to rent a car but certainly don't want to damage anything. Thanks
I recorded another one today. Lost maybe 250ml of ATF. If the fluid level was full (at the correct level) I don't think that 250ml less will be that big of a deal. Without knowing what the level is at... can't say if it will be an issue or not.
Hey, for the manual transmission do you have to put it in service mode? Because its still overheating from the last time I talked with you so imma switch out the radiator, it keeps getting air somehow and makes a weird noise while struggling to let the coolant flow
Thomas EXOVCDS mine is leaking like this. Slows down after car is warm. ruclips.net/video/fiWE1fRuk5s/видео.html As far as radiator brands. What do you suggest? Also, what else should I consider changing since I will be having car in service mode. Thanks for your videos man. You a life saver.
A leak like that (cracked radiator) is usually due to an underlying issue... either prior stress from an accident, or from an overheating issue. Radiator fans not coming on, thermostat, a coolant leak somewhere else that caused overheating that blew the radiator etc.
Thomas EXOVCDS so changing the radiator might not solve the issue? Either way, radiator needs to be removed and installed with new one. Any other things I should look into while having the radiator off? The cars temperature gauge has never moved from more than halfway. There is no coolant leaks that are noted on my driveway. The car did have an impact by precious driver but noted to be fixed. I say maybe it was an impact. Co side ring the crack is like a hairline size crack.
It's a judgment call as to what else to replace "while you are in there"... focus on the radiator. With the new radiator in place (still in service position) you can fill the cooling system & run the engine. If everything is OK, you can then put the front end back together. While in service position, check serpentine belt... water pump & thermostat. Anything that you have more access to / is easy to replace now (when in service position). You can never anticipate all future failures... removing the bumper and moving the front end into service position does not take long, so you can always go back in at a later time (odds are, that eventually you will have to).
Thanks for the video. How do you reconnect the ATF lines, I cant reconnect the lower one. I,ve pushed it the hardest i could , ive used a rubber hummer, and its impossible. The upper one no problem with the hummer. my car its an audi A6 C5 and has the same lines that the 1.8t.
Ahh the frustrating grunts of the cooler hoses. Love your videos. They're to the damn point.
Thank you and thank you for watching!
What is the hoses that you clamped off on passenger side by radiator?
Automatic transmission cooler lines.
great vids...What would you recommend for a small pin hole leak in the plastic for a temp fix? I know replacing it is the best.
Hi, Thanks for watching! You could try some kind of epoxy glue... rough up the area and make sure it is dry before applying the glue.
Thanks for the video, working on this right now.
Thanks for watching!

All I remember is that the lines either go in easy or they can put up a fight... just don't force them!

Don't know if it's possible to remove the radiator without going into service position.

Bumper off, does not require service position if I recall correctly.
@@EXOVCDS meant switching the radiator
Yes... sorry, that's what I meant. Remove bumper. Radiator can be removed once the condenser it loosened. No service position is required.
@@EXOVCDS i did all that, got all the air out, but when I start driving air gets in it, how is that?
@@RR-vz8yo Possibly from head gasket (combustion leaking into the cooling system). Have a repair shop check for exhaust gasses in the cooling system.
Did u disconnected battery cause air bag sensor or no ?
It's always good to disconnect the battery. I don't think I did... no airbag sensor was disconnected.
Can’t you remove it from the inside removing the fans?
Yes, but the bumper has to be removed and the radiator / lock carrier has to be moved into service position (away from the engine).
@@EXOVCDS thanks for the quick response man appreciate it 🙏🏽
Thank you for watching!
Is this the same process as the Audi S4 b6?
I would think so... aside from some cosmetic differences & engine.
I'd have to check a service manual to be sure... haven't pulled one on an S4 yet.

optimus1358 Not sure what the problem is. Should be the same as the other one. Use a little less force and wiggle it a little... that might help.
***** Thank you, finally I did it, was a problem with the tab that support the upper hose
optimus1358 hey how did you get it on I barely have space on the bottom I also have c5 3.0 and can’t seem to get em back on
