One of my sweetest memories is of Portugal. Porto has incredibly steep streets, and as I was walking down one of them, I tripped and fell forward, then tried to recover my balance by sort of skipping sideways. Before I knew it, people were rushing from all sides to catch me. Three of them held onto me and wouldn't let me go until they were absolutely certain I was OK. I almost had to fight to get away from them! Then one of them, a woman in her twenties, pointed to a nearby shop and said, "I work just there, in case you should need any help". As a Brit, I felt so humbled by this. Portugal will always be a top destination for me - it's full of great people.

it's a crime that you haven't put the Philippines at the sharp end of this list, i have visited the Philippines dozens of times over the years and have found the people to be nothing but respectful, friendly, helpful and generous with wonderful natures, so much so that i married a Filipina who is my loving wonderful wife of 36 years, it offends me that the Philippines never even got a mention, it is also true that the Philippines has stunning beaches like no other country, and the countryside is absolutely beautiful, hello to all in Kiamba, Sarangani, Mindanao.
Have you ever seen the overflowing videos of foreigners on youtube who had been in The Philippines, who keep coming back to the Philippines and retiring in the Philippines? I bet not. The Philippines is one of the friendliest countries in the world because it's in our culture, we are very hospitable, we love and proud to share our food, our beautiful country, our friendship, our talent and most especially our people- the kindness and happiness that we share. We are family oriented and treat other people as one of the family members that is why if you come here you can hear every one commonly addressed each other as father, mother, brother or sister eventhough we don't know them. You can hear a lot of "Sir/Ma'am" not because you are a "VIP" but as a sign of respect in a formal way. I am not lifting up my own country but it is a fact. Everywhere we go, we bring our culture and share it with other people. That is why The Philippines is always one of the countries in the Top Travel Destination.😀❤🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭

Thanks for saying all those nice things about Canada, we have some pretty cool places, good job for all the other countries who made it on this list too🎉
Denmark was very nice, Bulgaria was too, because we were the rare Americans visiting... met many Bulgarians that had actually been to Wisconsin (of all places). Toronto was an extremely friendly place... it was like the Bizzaro version of New York City (super clean, padded subway seats, gets quiet at night). Sydney, Australia also had friendly people. Staying in the US, San Diego was lovely, Boston was also quite nice (as long as sports weren’t mentioned) and Seattle was mostly friendly (this was about 10 years ago, I heard it’s changed for the worse.)
Born in Australia and regret it ... I don't think there is anything much going for it and I don't find Australian people particularly friendly, infact generally they are rude and have no idea about respect for others to the point where they have to teach common values in certain curriculum of schools/TAFE... LOVE Canada though it's got alot going for it
Been to most of these, have had some great experiences, particularly Oman and Colombia. While traveling through Oman we once had a shopkeeper close his store for about 30 minutes to serve us tea and chat, he just beamed with friendliness and pride of his country, and with good reason, Oman is fabulous. Also had some friendly experiences in Serbia, another case where we stopped into a shop and they took time to serve us their homemade rakija in the back and share a few laughs. I've also found Tunisia, Turkey, Morocco, Ghana, Thailand, Malta and Nicaragua to be pretty friendly. And I most definitely agree with Portugal, love Portugal. And one last mention, I've always found Italians to be both friendly and very helpful.
i've had the best experiences in bosnia, italy, and tunisia. However for serbia i had the complete opposite experience than you did, probably because im albanian and we're not welcome there
@@Gold26502 Its sad that people hold your nationality against you, but prejudices are alive and well around the world. There's plenty of places hostile toward Americans, though I haven't had many of those experiences, I do try to blend in, and have only had to claim to be Canadian a couple of times lol But the guy who ran that shop in Serbia had lived in Philadelphia for several years and had moved back to Serbia, he recognized our American accents and that's what struck up the conversation and hospitality, so in that case being American worked in our favor, but that's not always the case. Yea I agree with Bosnia, we had good experiences there as well, had traveled through Bosnia enroute to Serbia, then south through Montenegro and ended in Croatia, and both those latter two were kind as well, certainly no bad experiences, but Serbia stood out most.
@@MG-ot2yr Stood out most probably because the guy you met had lived in philadelphia, sadly the serbian goverment and schools are very "aggressive" and promote propaganda especially towards albanians but maybe that might change with time who knows
@@Gold26502 That is sad, hopefully things will change. Yes, definitely the Philadelphia connection had a lot to do with it, but that wasn't the only good experience in Serbia, the places we stayed were very friendly and accommodating, one place the woman running the hotel just went out of her way and insisted on making us a Serbian bbq, which was delicious but the hotel wasn't really set up with a restaurant, just a small breakfast room. And she spoke no English, and with our limited Serbian communicated just fine! lol
@@MG-ot2yr there’s just only one big issue and that is kosovo 🇽🇰, thats the only reason we can’t achieve peace, we dont want friendship, just peace, but that will be hard until the issue of kosovo is fixed its a really complicated topic

How is the Philippines not on this list? I'm very surprised to see Vietnam on the list, and not the Philippines. I suppose not many who have visited replied to this survey.
I expected Canada to be on the top because I’ve been living here for last 2 years and Canadians are by far the best and most welcoming and freindly people I’ve met in my life. Always having a nice and wide smile on their face. You got my heart Canada ❤️
Ayush, I have been living here in Toronto Canada since 1967 but to say Canada is the best and most welcoming and friendly to a WHITE CANADIAN is far from being the truth. I was a bookkeeper and paymaster in my father’s buisiness and I was told that I don’t have a Canadian experience. Since when did mathematics and bookkeeping different from any country in the world? I can’t forget that CANADIAN who told me i have no Canadian experience. That’s just being plain racist. Maybe just a like rotten potatoes in the bag.
People always say that Canadians are so nice and friendly, but I have known some Canadians who were horrible human beings. Also clearly if you think Canadians are so friendly you haven't seen them after their team loses a hockey match.

I'm Irish . Just returned from a trip to Canada yesterday. One of the friendliest countries I've ever visited
I'm very surprised the Phillipines wasn't ranked the #1 most friendliest country. I also honestly didn't expect any country from the Middle East to make this list.
“Have you eaten yet” is a question you’re always asked in the Philippines.
"But Filipinos are racist towards Black people and has hatred against LGBT couples is that what you call friendly a backwards country becoming Venezuela including the Toxic Social Culture by the way I'm from this poor nation .?!"
@@paolosantiago3163 lol all people are racist
@@paolosantiago3163 then you are on your own.....I am also a filipino and I don't discriminate against them. I don't even see anyone in my city discriminating against the black people as we have a large population of africans, middle eastern and indians in our midst.
they just love u money..
No, they were not Portuguese, they are the tourists from other coutries wanting to help you.

@@richardanderson6531 They are very racist toward people from Nicaragua and other countries.
@@donguadalucio1405 well...most Nicaraguans come to commit crimes along side with Dominicans and Colombians.
@@Rafavalmor yeah but is it the same for Costa Ricans in those counties. Racism and hatred for another country based on a few or government is wrong so is any type of hatred in other regards. @@richardanderson6531 I dunno, but those people from Nicaragua are quite troublemakers/ problematic.
Japan and Philippines should’ve been on top.

What about Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines...... These are amazing country to visit and the people are very friendly. survey need to be updated
YES MÉXICO. According to the international ex-pat community ranking, Mexico is the only country in the world that has ranked in the top 3 every single year for decades
That’s right Filipino s are very very very friendly🇵🇾🇨🇦🇨🇦
You missed the Philippines ....
I think they intentionally missed the Philippines.
Friendliness is measured by how the locals treat outsiders without regard to their color and nationality.
Exactly!!
Philippines is The Most Friendliest Country in The World( pagmamahal mula sa India🇮🇳❤️🇵🇭)
I think it was intentional not to include the Philippines in the video. Why? To generate a gazillion number of comments.
yeah, right lol.
Hahaha.....
Philippines not included? Filipino smiles are known to many visitors. If you love singing and dancing, every street you go, you definitely would be entertained by the locals' expertise, both young and old. The price?, one of the cheapest in Asia. Filipinos are fun-loving and give smiles to everyone. Mabuhay!

it's a crime that you haven't put the Philippines at the sharp end of this list, i have visited the Philippines dozens of times over the years and have found the people to be nothing but respectful, friendly, helpful and generous with wonderful natures, so much so that i married a Filipina who is my loving wonderful wife of 36 years, it offends me that the Philippines never even got a mention, it is also true that the Philippines has stunning beaches like no other country, and the countryside is absolutely beautiful, hello to all in Kiamba, Sarangani, Mindanao.

I thought Canada would be higher on the list! I live in the Province of Québec and people here are awesome. The Maritimes also have amazing residents.
I'm suprised that was not included Brazil and Philippines.
I love Toronto. Gorgeous city,
Born in Australia and regret it ... I don't think there is anything much going for it and I don't find Australian people particularly friendly, infact generally they are rude and have no idea about respect for others to the point where they have to teach common values in certain curriculum of schools/TAFE... LOVE Canada though it's got alot going for it
Bulgarian not really friendly when you go to shops oh dear they don't know how to entertain the customers and some are rudes...
I had a totally different experience Bulgaria.
OMG yes. People were so friendly in Portugal. I would love to move there. 🇪🇺🌎
The Portugal people Portuguese, not English. How can tourists communicate with them in English?
Personally, during my short stay in Canada ,I felt "its welcoming arms extended as wide as it's territory".
WHAT?! jordan isn't here??? Jordan is very friendly. In fact its the friendliest country.
From watching travel RUclipsrs, it appears that many middle eastern countries are actually some of the most friendliest! Unfortunately the media has destroyed these countries reputations though :/
