nah you can attack human but do not be too cruel... human know war and love war but if you try to be most cruel then you awake the demon inside human. Blood for blood
"There's one mistake you've made in your attempts at war," said the lone human representative. "Enlighten us, little human. What may that be?" Asked the High Councilor of the Galactic Races. "It's quite simple. You're people playing at being beasts while at war," the representative smiled. There was no kindness in the gesture. "...But humans are beasts, playing at being people in peacetimes."
Rheagar and his people are wise. No matter how much civilization we claim to have attained, in our hearts we are still savages. We aspire to restrain the beast. And we will if allowed. But, slay our innocents and our wrath will know no bounds.
I loved the narration. I find the possibility that the ceremony was all psychological warfare tantalizing. A few years later, after an unconditional surrender, Rheager sees some people from the forge acting in a summer festival it all clicks and he laughs.
Down in the deep 🎶 where the dragon used to sleep 🎶 glorious gold glimmers in our home of old 🎶 where the day has lost its light 🎶 when the hammer falls 🎶
This honestly sounds like the first step of the war. Not an actual ceremony, but rather psychological warfare. Something to scare the other empires into non-action of helping the Cholan. Lol
It is. Especially given the whole context. Rhaegar saw the warmachines being produced, saw the energy-spices when ships became active by the second. Those are all steps preceding actual war. And unless we talk about an alternative reality where mankind never abandoned superstition and arcane (or even eldritch) rites, this whole display of such a ritual is practically pointless. Except as a show of force, a stage-play for an intimidation.
Yeah that was my thought too, some of our older warrior cultures have some similar ceremonies if i´m not misremembering too much 🤔 Vikings, aztecs, spartans, samurai and the like. Blood-debt and honour run high in those old warrior cultures...
More a general reference to a blood oath of vengeance/duty. While not as bent on homicide an example is the Gurkha and their respect towards their kukri. Which is to say, once the blade is drawn the blade has to taste blood before being sheathed again. Even if it used to cut down brush a Gurkha is expected to draw at least a little of their own blood to satisfy that oath.
@@aguyontheinternet9095 I am deeply sorry, but that is not true. The notch in the blade just before the grip is not to draw your own blood from, but to keep blood from running onto the handle and make it slippery.
It is a reference to an old Norse Right of Vengeance, the forging of a blade meant to kill the leader of a war band that tried to wipe out an entire clan...and failed.
Nukes are so... distant; wrath at arm's length. A blade must be delivered up close. A very personal fury. And humanity has a long history of taking things personally.
@@derekstein6193 im pretty sure this thing they showed was first time it happened too, theysay it happened in first contact war,but in reality i think this was all just a show to scare anyone aiding enemies of humanity in any military way because that way there would be less casualties

Did they? They're not the aggressors here. Millions of innocents, men, women, children were slaughtered. This must be answered for. They are doing what is natural. And they are doing it soberly, reluctantly and recognize the gravity of the act. The sword should not be lightly drawn to war. Our history is full of war over the most foolish of motives. This is as close to a just war as you will likely get.

@@nadjasunflower1387 I can fight for my family without sinking into this sort of pagan ritualism. The humans have an odd sense of right and wrong and have no qualms about dragging their foes to whatever form of hell they believe in should they be wronged, the cost be damned. Our choice is simple, either stay out of the fight or join their enemies in hell.
Emotionally unstable? No, for a crime of that magnitude the murder of innocent people and their way of life the price is that of blood and the assurance that the one that gave the order and those that fulfilled it will never harm another innocent because they will never have another chance to do anything again.
So not tolerating "no action" as the response to an outside faction killing *BILLIONS OF HUMANS* is emotionally unstable? Damn, if getting mad over that is bad I guess ever getting mad over anything makes you emotionally unstable. Who would have guessed not tolerating a planetary genocide just because you have more than one was "emotionally unstable".
