I would never hate on him because he’s so sweet. However personally his advice broke my skin out worse than it’s ever been. I love him and he’s so so sweet but everyone’s skin is different and I think everyone needs to try things out to see what works for them.
Maybe the reason it’s working is cz they’re ending up with a minimal skincare routine (soap & moisturizer) instead of 10 products and treatments a day.
Hmm right. My mom never had bad skin her entire life. Only Dove bar soap & Vaseline. (Plz don't do this. It only worked for my mom) but I had like a 8 step skin care and then I lowered it just to cleanser, moisturizer, and sometimes sunscreen and saw my skin was getting better

I'm a guy that struggled with acne throughout high school and college. I tried many products to clear it up, but nothing seemed to work other than an antibiotic my dermatologist prescribed to me. When I wasn't taking that medicine, the acne would return. I have oily skin too. I discovbered your channel back in March and took a lot of your advice. Ultimately, I decided to stick with washing my face with Dove soap(stopped using a wash cloth on my face because of your advice), the Cervae morning/night moisturizers. Fast forward 8 months later and my skin has never looked better. Thanks bro, you changed my life. Keep it up!
Me too I’m like 👀, I have terrible eczema on my face and body and dove bar soaps have kept my flare ups in control along with my using oatmeal as the final rinse.
I was using dove soap for years and had great skin but I watched videos from ppl saying it was bad so I switched to cerave, aveeno cleansers and it wrecked my face! Breakouts, oily etc. I have recently went back to this dove bar soap and I’m finally back to clear, smooth skin. This is my holy grail I don’t care what he says 😆
Out of curiosity what do people mean when they say they only use dove bar of soap? Is it as simple as in the shower (or morning/night) all they do is take the dove bar into a lather over their face & body & then rinse followed up by some type of moisturizer (seemingly CeraVe face+body)? Did I get that right? Because I'm open to trying something new since I've been using different cleansers or acne products either salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide based & I've tried separate products at the same time, one at a time, & given it each 4-8 weeks & I've still not had much success (I'm not so acne prone that I have to go on Accutane btw just annoying w/ breakouts every week or every other week especially on my neck more than my face)
I was literally just at Walgreens picking up some makeup and I contemplated buying Dove bar soap but I thought “Maybe let me see if Hyram posted about this yet” and I’m not kidding 2 minutes later I got this notification
My dad was surprised to see my cabinet with loads of skincare. According to him, Head and Shoulders is best for hair, dandruff. The remaining foam from hair wash, you can use it as face and body wash and after the shower you smell so good that you don't need a deodorant. He made all of us sit down and explained it in details one day. I am so traumatized that everytime I wash my face or apply a deodorant, I hear my father's voice in my head 😭

Me when I shaved my head😂😂 for three months or more agter shaving my head I used one soap for everything. Very gentle cleanser for soap that's meant for washing clothes (the doctor recommended it when my skin was so so so dry)
I’ve been using Dove Sensitive Skin Bar Soap and Cerave cream (not lotion) for 20 years and I’ve always received compliments about how youthful my skin is :) it’s the only soap that doesn’t affect my eczema and dry skin. There is also dove sensitive foam soap which I’ve used for the last year or so
There’s actually a few versions of Dove bar soap. The one I use is the “sensitive skin, scent-free/hypoallergenic”. From what I can tell, a lot of the problematic ingredients that you listed aren’t featured in this one.
Yeah! I could be wrong but it looks like my soap uses sodium oleate instead of sodium palmitate (I hope that’s not also derived from palm trees). Might be a good idea to look carefully at the ingredients though, some of these might just be synonyms for the same thing.
my mom uses the hypoallergenic one too and she noticed a difference in her skin which was pretty remarkable to me because she's in her 70s and has very sensitive skin. I was tempted to try it too!
I switched from liquid soaps to bar soaps, because it produces literally no waste. I have bar soaps for my shampoo and my soap for body and it's pretty good. I've been using these for 3 years and to be fair, it was weird at the beginning, but now I love that. I've never seen bar soaps for FACE now, so I hope there will be more of these with a rly good formula in the future
As a chronic dermatologist ,Dove soap is literally a mild cleanser that doesn't come with water in plastic bottle which means no more preservatives! Done throw yur plastics get dove bar's!

don't come at me but i use dove soap 💀 i've tried cetaphil before, it's harsh on my skin and i tried cerave this year and it's gentle and made my skin so smooth but actually gave me random breakouts for months (it wasn't my skin purging...) i actually cried about my skin this year because it never was that bad before and i had to think back- what did i do last year that was different from this year.. because my skin was actually decent last year. then i remembered all i used was a barsoap. gentle on my sensitive skin and simple. so all i'm gonna say is... if y'all find what works for you, stick with it. i'm gonna stick with my routine regardless if anyone recommends anything else. also, my boyfriend tried to make me laugh by saying "i just wash my face using the same barsoap that i use to wash my balls and look, my skin is okay" 😂
Actually I read some reviews on Amazon about Cera-Ve products and it’s because they keep on switching the ingredients list from the reviewers who uses their products. I recommend staying away from products with the ingredients switched out, and go for Vanicream. Because they never change their ingredients list and it stays the same unlike Cera-Ve.
I appreciate how often you talk about our effects on the environment through consumption. I also enjoy your entire attitude. You're so kind and respectful!
I am 26 years old, I've used dove ever since I was a newborn. A pediatric recommended to my mom that she should use Dove on my hair because it wasn't growing. It's the only bar soap I've used my entire life. I could say my life depends on this bar soap lol I really recommend it to parents that are having issues with their babies hair growing.
Fun fact! There are 3 times more trees in the world now then there was in 1940!! While logging seemed to be the problem in the early 2000s, most logging companies plant more trees than they cut down! So most things like cardboard and wood are not environmentally harmful :)
If you’re concerned about trees, I highly suggest adding the Ecosia extension to your Google Chrome! They’re a carbon negative search engine dedicated to replanting trees in areas truly needed around the world and will plant a tree for every 45 searches you make.
Me and my sister are the same way (but with different symptoms)! I have extremely sensitive skin and I can ironically only use Dove products while my sister can use any product in the world except for Dove because Dove irritates her skin.
I love dove body wash line especially their sensitive skin and deep moisture ones. These soaps don't dry me out or irritate my skin since I get seasonal hives at times due to the weather changing, seasonal allergies or stress. One time I had hives on my face really bad that my face felt like it was burning and I just put the sensitive skin body wash on my face and my skin instantly calmed down. It felt amazing. But I haven't use it as a skin care routine so I can't speak on if it clears acne or not.
To sum up the video: The bar soap is kind of Hyram-approved. Con's: It contains palm oil, which can contribute to deforestation! The soap also can have bacteria build-up, that isn't great for acne prone skin or any skin in general! Also the price point is somewhat questionable, how good quality is it at $1? Pro's: Simple and no fragrance, which means less irritation chances. It doesn't contribute plastic or anything to the Earth! There are also some better products that can give you the best skin possible, but it wouldn't hurt to try it 😁
I live in Canada and the vast majority of our skincare products have different ingredients than in the US. The Dove bar soap for sensitive skin doesn't contain Sodium Palmitate! I have rosacea and have REALLY struggled to find a cleanser, I often react to Sodium Laurel Sulfate, and unfortunately, a lot of products here contain it here, including La Roche Pose :( Cerave and this bar soap have been the only two face washes that haven't caused a rosacea breakout, but I just wanted to share incase any other Canadians were wondering! I know regulations are different in different countries, and the ingredients tend to be differ :) x
*(EDIT) Dove has recently changed their branding, formulas, and branding, I noticed it in the last month that the ingredient list is half the size it used to be, and now most of their products list each of their ingredients along with what the ingredient is for. I extremely like it, and I’ve noticed within the last month that several companies have started doing this (particularly baby/toddler products, which is definitely SUPER important)* I love Dove Baby wash. As a first time mom, I used Johnson&Johnson’s baby wash, because ya know it’s the most common and most used baby wash that I always knew of. I always used the newborn safe wash because it’s “hypoallergenic”. And I used it on my son for 2 years. At about 1 1/2 I noticed he was getting a spotty rash on his chest, it was summer and so I just thought they were clogged pores from sweating which is common in young children. Then I noticed he was getting scaly patches in the folds on his arms and legs. I thought it was just some dry patches so I started putting lotion on him and thought is would help? Nope, his scaly patches started getting more irritated, so I took him to the doctor. Doc immediately recommended I switched his body wash and started using an eczema targeted lotion. Dove was the first body wash in the list, so I switched to it. And Cetaphil baby lotions was first lotion on the list. Well after a week of using the Cetaphil lotion, his eczema patches started spitting open and bleeding. So after keeping them bandaged and coated in A&d ointment to heal, I quickly switched to Eurcerin eczema relief, and within 3 days the eczema disappeared and never came back. I will never touch any Johnson&Johnson baby product again because I HIGHLY believe their products is what cause my son to have increased skin sensitivity and lead to Atopical Dermatitis. I won’t ever go back to Cetaphil because their products made the situation so much worse. I 100% vouch for Dove and Eurcerin, their ingredients are very transparent, and I’m not sure what state my son’s SUPER sensitive skin would be in without them.
I’m so glad the baby dove works for your son and hoping it works for a long time for him. My son who’s 10yrs old now he uses the dove baby wash for eczema(at that time dove didn’t have the baby wash /lotion out yet) . Works great on him as well. He’s been using it for the past year and half now after going through many specific ones for eczema. We used aveeno baby and adult, which worked for a bit but then his skin would flare up. I used Eurcerin as well on him same thing. I’ve been dealing with his eczema since he was around 3years old or so. I make sure his clothes are washed in dye free fragrance free detergent since he had eczema. Now that baby dove works great I’m hoping it will stay that way for a long time. When your son gets older to when it comes time to wear deodorant, make sure they are dye free and chemical fragrance free. I went through some thinking they were as it was stated for sensitive skin 🤦♀️ but my son broke out in burning painful rashes in his armpit on top of his eczema flaming up each and every time we tried one. I felt so bad for him. I let him try Native from a little sample stick I found at target and we hit the jackpot. He never broke out with blisters, rashes or any eczema flare ups.
hey! just wanted to say that atopical dermatitis is a skin condition-an allergy- we are born with it and those who have it have it worst at the early ages but it will get better as we get older. it can also suddenly come back after years and then it can stay seasonal (spring and autumn mainly).
As someone a bit older with an exhaustive amount of skincare experience I will say I think that skincare is mostly an indulgence. I've been obsessed with it my entire life. In my teens and 20's, I only bought the high end stuff.. La Mer, ReVive, Delphine, SK-II etc. and mid-range stuff like Dr. Hauschka (v bad for sensitive skin imo - essential oils are a no ) and Ren.. Pretty much tried everything. Did they work? I guess but I was also young. After years of over-doing it with products, at 35 I ended up developing seb dermatitis overnight and all of sudden couldn't use any of my skincare, just water. Everything flared up my skin. Everything. I'm lucky I do look about 10 years younger than I am.. but at 40 and recovering from seb dermatitis there still isn't much I can use. Cetaphil is also a no. La Roche Posay tolerance also flares up my seb derm. The only two cleansers I can use are the Dove bar (no problem with bacteria - but I let mine dry out between uses - morning to night ) -- and bacteria would be a huge problem for me. So I don't agree with that at all. Because it is the only soap that does not irritate my skin or flare it up or dry out my skin and get its clean. So 100% to Dove bar. Its pretty great and just about the only thing I have found I can use. I have recently started using an old fav Shu Umuera Green Tea oil cleanser too and its ok - removes sunscreen well -- and (obv not really an oil.) but to sum it up I don't really agree with the cons you pointed out .. major points to Dove bar on every level. Highly recommend it to people with sensitive or problematic skin.

*(EDIT) Dove has recently changed their branding, formulas, and branding, I noticed it in the last month that the ingredient list is half the size it used to be, and now most of their products list each of their ingredients along with what the ingredient is for. I extremely like it, and I’ve noticed within the last month that several companies have started doing this (particularly baby/toddler products, which is definitely SUPER important)*
I love Dove Baby wash.
This seems like an ad 😳
I want to read it, but it is a looong paragraph, hehe, BTW good point!!
hey! just wanted to say that atopical dermatitis is a skin condition-an allergy- we are born with it and those who have it have it worst at the early ages but it will get better as we get older. it can also suddenly come back after years and then it can stay seasonal (spring and autumn mainly).
Johnson & Johnson also makes vaccines so that should be a red flag for y'all. look it up.☕👀
As someone a bit older with an exhaustive amount of skincare experience I will say I think that skincare is mostly an indulgence.

Fyi, the palm oil dove use is sustainable and RSPO certified
YES! i just checked it on the Palm Oil app :)
Oh thank goodness!
There really is no such thing as "sustainably sourced" palm oil!
Palm oil is still palm oil.
@@melindahirsch2000 there really is sustainable means it can be done forever and anything can be farmed forever if done right and not over done. Trees can be sustainably cut down by selective logging etc
Thanks for creating this video. I am 55. My skin is sensitive/normal. I always used higher end make-up for my aging skin. I recently decided to purchase a couple higher end cleansers. Upon doing that, my skin turned into a HOT MESS, I had dry patches, my skin burned, my moisturizers burned, I was a mess! I decided to go back to my Dove Sensitive Skin, within two day, my skin was back to normal. (normal for me)

I have been using dove soap for almost 7 years and my skin has stayed clear
that's all you use? i would love to know

SAME. My mom has been using it forever and I was brought up using it. My face has always been so clear, I get compliments on my skin and it doesn’t feel stripping. Works for me 🤷🏼♀️
I’ve been using it for 17 years and I was recommended it by two different dermatologists

I've really dry sensitive skin - I started using this bar about 2 weeks ago now (morning and night) with simples light moisturizer, and my skin has cleared up so much. My skin feels moisturized every day and doesn't feel dry anymore and the pigmentation has balanced out so my skin is all the one shade now and smooth and not red and patchy. This is my experience and I'm glad i started using it!
Yaaay! I just got the Dove soap and Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser today but wasn't sure if they would clear my skin but your comment gives me hope!

ive been using this soap for my body since i was 12 years old (im 24 years old now) and people always compliment my skin, soft and glowing. i rarely use lotion
Dove bar soap is the only bar soap that doesnt give me that residue feeling. I feel so smooth and moisturized afterwards, and I have extreme eczema
Same I have eczema too and it go reduced by using dove
Same!! It’s the only thing me and my family with severe eczema have used for years without issue. If it’s kept as sterile as possible and you follow up with a fragrance free moisturiser it’s been fine for us.. I really think most skincare is overpriced and filled with ingredients you just do not need. Most high end skincare uses cheap and badly sourced ingredients too so I really feel you cannot win

My dermatologist recommended the exact same skin care routine and it has been amazing.
I've been using Dove for YEARS now, and honestly as a person who has acnee, this is one of the few products that doesn't actually irritate it.
If I use a cleanser, toner or anything like it, I'll have my face ruined🤦🏻♀️
My dad had very acne prone skin and it was so sensitive and my mam was the same but they started using dove soap and honestly? The pair of them have flawless skin now so I guess it just depends on the person.
I discovered the effects on my face by accident and I loved how my skin looked. I was concerned about the bacteria so I brought dove sensitive and moisture in the pump and it works for me. Cleared up my mask breakout, I’m a nurse and had to wear N95 along with a mask on top for almost a year and my skin suffered. I tried so many expensive things and this worked for me. Then after washing at night I use 1 drop of bio oil on my skin and dark spots improved.

I never use my dove soap on my face, but it is my favorite product to use on my body! I have used it for years now, and I have about 3 different kinds stocked up. It saves a lot of plastic from going into the trash!
Been using Dove sensitive for years because my derma recommended it. Yes, it did not break me out but when I switched to Cerave foaming cleanser, my skin looks dewy and better than just using soap. Thought Dove Sensitive was the best but maybe because it's fragrance free that's why I did not break out with it.
I've used Dove all my life.
And my favorite thing about it is that when you get down with a bar, you can squeeze the sliver onto a new bar and it sticks and you don't have nasty slimy slivers all over the place.
