Did you NOT like watch the last minute of the movie because Noah and Elle end up riding their motorcycles together so you don't know if they get back together or not!
Y'know, something I just noticed about this franchise (and I never even thought that these movies were worthy of any analysis from me) is that, no matter how hard they tried to show to us that Elle and Lee were best friends, they never ACTED like best friends. All they did was hi-5 each other, tell stupid jokes, make fun of each other, dance in that dumb DDR machine and do all of those crazy, over-the-top bucket list activities. Not even once did we see them actually support each other, help each other out in an emotionally hard situation, we never saw one of them having a breakdown and the other one conforting them, or them talking about serious stuff. When Elle got drunk in the first movie, did Lee help her or look after her in case she did anything dangerous? No, he just took pictures of her and left her on her own. When she thought Noah had cheated on her, did he at least ask if she was ok? No. That's how shallow their friendship was. No wonder it was put in doubt whenever Elle spent 0.5 seconds with someone else. Becuase their friendship was based on them spending all the time together doing funny stuff. And real, strong friendships are much more than that.
also lee pretended to break his leg in order not to dance with her cuz his gf complained about him spending too much time with elle (rightfully so). but he also treated his gf like garbage, meh
It truly felt like we were waiting for a you cant with my brother cos I love you - because there is no other reason to bail out so much on your best friend primarily with romance and then to bail out on your girl more like this boy should have been nicknamed HSJ for a hop skip and a jump for all he does
Tfw your friendship never matured past elementary school. Like damn, Lee blowing a casket because Elle wanted to go to a different school gives me ' Tantruming because you gave someone else my favourite crayon on purpose' type of vibes.
I love how Noah’s “character development” is supposed to be not fighting people but then like 10 seconds ago he spiked Marco in the face with a volleyball out of jealousy...
As an introvert, the friendship in this series terrfies me. Not just the codependency, but also like, my social battery is drained just thinking about it. I need my SPACE.
Now I wish we got to see Lee lose his mind when Elle gets married or has children. “You never spend time with me anymore!” “I JUST GOT OUT OF THE HOSPITAL. I HAVE A NEWBORN. I HAVE NOT SLEPT IN THREE DAYS.”
And then it's 60 years into the future and Lee is still whining about how Elle doesn't hang out with him anymore and she's like "who the hell are you?!" Cause she her old age made her forget about him and then she starts beating him with her cane yelling "STRANGER DANGER!"
As a woman with close guy friends, in MY opinion, Chloe doesn't know boundaries. She molly-walks on the dang line ALL the time. It's disrespectful to Noah as well as Elle tbh. My friends and I are very cognizant of not overstepping boundaries because part of us wanting the best for each other is wanting each other's relationships to be as healthy and stress-free as possible.
Not molly walks 😂😂😂 but yes I agree. I couldn’t take her seriously though cause she looks 35 and therefore would never be interested in Noah’s immature ass lol
@@bartrese Looolll I agree, there was definitely sexual tension but I just kept thinking, she can't really be chasing this small boy like this at her ripe age.
@@bakedtiffany3152 No respect at all. Even them greeting each other at dinner, EYE have never rubbed myself like a dang cat all over one of my boys. Either they're deceiving themselves or think we're all fools.
It's great that you're back finishing it! College is rough no matter your age and I commend you on focusing on what's better for you now. It's never too late.
the only way i can watch this trilogy is through the movie commentary gang. all of the commentaries i’ve seen on these movies are all hilarious and great.
Can I also say as a side note that I'm sick of the white woman's third to the love triangle is always someone of an ethic background or look? Like it's always a Pablo or a Jet Li disturbing the happy white home... The real third has and should be officially identified as Lee because he's the one who effectively executed the divide and conquer strategy on Elle and emotionally bankrupted her that it left Noah no choice but to let her go! Idk.
Yes!!!!! You're so damn right. They should have given Marco his own storyline with him being a secondary character instead of a relationship disruptor. I'm so sick of the white woman and poc triangle. Lee should have been the main thought in the writers' head.
@@Kayla4217 FR THO, LOL! They DID NOT need to go there, and yet they did. To be fair though, the other half of that commenter's username is kind of telling me all I need to know about them and their "opinion".
Paolo in Friends, Jacob in Twilight, Marco in Kissing Booth, uuuhhh... I FEEL like there are more but I'm blanking on it. Though tbh, to my memory it's usually two white guys who look the exact same? I feel like it's either of those two situations. Wouldn't it be nice if she ended up with the """ethnic""" guy for once, whether or not she dated him first? I don't know, just anything different. I'm just generally so bored of how formulaic and predictable romance stories usually are, when there's so much to work with.
I take it as a "I'm so goddamn clean right now that people thought I just stepped out of the shower", and one of my biggest fears is for people to think I smell bad LOL
My best friend and I went to different universities. She also ended up teaching in Korea while I went to Japan. Weird thing is ... we're still friends. It's odd, I know, but strangely enough, doing different things with our lives hasn't broken up our friendship.
I think that that is the normal and healthy friendship everyone need, Like I've known my best friend since I was 8 years old and even though we don't see each other that much any more because we went to different schools and then faculties, we still have that kind of connection when it feels like we were together only yesterday when in reality it's been months since when we last met, does that make sense?
Yep! I just recently learned this with some friends from HS. One I haven't spoken to in close to a decade I recently did and we are still cool with each other. The other I wished her a happy birthday since she did with me (through Snapchat), and she told me if I'm ever in the city to hit her up so we can hang with with each other since she lives there. I feel like a lot of people, teens especially, need to understand they will lose friends, gain friends, and old friends will come back around. Being codependent on one friend will make them miss out on a lot of relationships that will happen throughout life.
@@Ru-yi9lt It makes sense. My friend and I still do this thing where we buy each other a little gift every Christmas, but sometimes we don't see each other for a while. Last time we met up, we hadn't seen each other in three years, so we had three gifts for each other. It was great.
Definitely not weird. My best friend and I have been friends since we were 9-10. I went to college, she went in the Army. The first 8 years of our adult friendship was spent in different states and her going back & forth to a war zone! A few years back we both ended up in Asia. It was so cool for us country girls to be spending holidays with each other in other countries! We never could have imagined that as kids. Especially didn't have a list 😂😂
@@thgritic102 I think that’s something I’m personally still learning and why I’m looking forward to college. I am in a small group of friends where while we don’t see each other as often, I still tend to talk to one-even wanting to hopefully have a meetup for coffee. The other two I seldom if barely hear from ever since we left HS aside from my job where one of them works. Especially since my friends interact mostly through text. . Before I came along, they were mostly a group of three aside from a couple who since then dwindled out as they tend to do. Those three in particular nearly had a falling out during our senior year, but they repaired it since then. It’s just been pretty silent since we left HS and it just recently slowed down again when I returned from training. I struggled socially growing up, so I grew attached to this group of friends solely because it was the first time in my HS life I had people to look forward to seeing and hanging out with. I understand why-I was lonely and down on myself, but I would be lying if I didn’t look back at those days with cringe. Going to college this year, I’m hoping to maybe find other people. I’m not the most socially active person, but if it means I can reduce this sort of need to stay attached this group, I think it’ll help me more in the end. It’s also why I’ve been going to therapy. Edit: Also, as much as I love the one I am very close to amongst all three of them, I know she’d be happy to see me stepping out the circle a bit since I don’t have any other friends outside of them. As I said, I grew very attached and relied solely on them because I felt so alone and essentially desperate for friends at the time. But growing up essentially hating myself for being introverted, I was really feeling like I’d die alone or become some loser because I didn’t make any lasting friendships in HS-basically wanting the “we go out every weekend and study/hang out at each other’s houses” friend group-only to end up with the absolute opposite. Outside of the codependency and weird bucket lists, you can get the idea that I wanted my friendships to reflect the type of shit you’d see on IG-which is NOT healthy. Friendships run deeper than that. Luckily, my unrealistic image doesn’t show in my current friendships. Having deep conversations is basically a norm with me and my friend. But should anyone younger than me find this, I beg of you-don’t try to make friendships or reflect your ideas of friendship off shit you see on social media. And don’t think you’re some sort of loser because you don’t have a friend group that practically expands across dimensions. That’s how I fucked myself up. You are fine
Also it’s so fucked up that he gets to be the deciding factor in HER college just because… he picked first? Like would he have given up Berkeley if she’d decided to study abroad at like Oxford or something? No, he would have yelled at her for “Trying to run away from our life” or something and it would have been up to HER to change schools
Noah is a different character in each of these movies. It doesn’t even feel like character development. Because he’s always right in the movie’s opinion. Like why isn’t he angry anymore? is he in therapy? His and Chloe’s emotional affair was just friendship? He doesn’t even know what his girlfriend is planning to do at Harvard and literally doesn’t care until the arguing in the relationship is inconvenient to him. Like he’s the least horrible character by far but he isn’t great.
Yeah, that's something I noticed too. He's very inconsistent throughout all of the movies together, but individually in them, it's like he gets replaced with a different Noah, but still have the same actor. It's crazy!
also the movie clearly depicts him in the first movie that he had anger issues or he was "the bad boy". So him getting into harvard if he had a record, is no fucking shot.
According to their ‘best friend’ rules- shouldn’t Lee be happy for her success of getting into frickin’ _Harvard_ ??! His passive-aggressive clinginess is so annoying....
No no no, she should only be happy for all HIS successes. Because he's a little piss baby and I doubt shed remember any of these rules if he wasn't crying about it all the time 😂
Choosing between Harvard or Berkeley is the problem that I would like to have but all I'll probably end up doing is choosing between water or electricity bill
In that situation I'd go for the water. With electricity you can always pretend to be from the Victorian times and pull out a candle or something and try not to burn your house down.
I honestly have to commend the writers because they managed to do the impossible, HOW IS ELLE SO UNLIKEABLE. Over 3 movies her character just got worse, how?!
I have to disagree I definitely hate Elena way more Elle is still hypocritical af tho it’s like she spent all three movies complaining about something she would eventually do herself she’s just annoying Elena was unbearable lol
I was thinking if they have a Kissing Booth, it would be them getting back together but another part of me thinks there’s not gonna be another movie. Idk
Taylor Zakhar Perez plays Marco, he's also currently 29 yrs old in real life. So definitely close to being "A Brooding hot 30 year old teenager!" without the brooding part, lmao.
Dude, Chloe is the epitome of "we can still be friends, I just want to have some benefits." You can't change my mind. She really be wanting a smooch or something to "help forget the problems" that she has.
I'm so neutral about Chloe that seeing different reactions about her makes me laugh 😆 Love her actress, but the character is just oozing both "good friend" and "huge flirt" at the same time, and if this was another WP story, she would definitely be the mean/bad girl antagonist.
I love how the "i ended up on the eyeball licking side of RUclips" didnt even phase me because it's so on brand for you. Like, ah yes kennie on some weird shit again 💀
Man I forgot how clingy the main characters in this movie are! *Aw man my bestie didn't spend this ONE TIME with me! They must not care about me at all* . Like c'mon I was seething!!!
fr thats not how friendship works. Bro I once spent weeks not talking or hanging out with my friends, They seriously thought something bad happened to me so they called my mum. I was just going through something and they understood. Lee, people have a life, grow tf up.
it's so weird seeing people being so damn clingy - I meet up with my friends like once a 2/3 weeks just because we're lazy. Sometimes two times, depends I guess? We do have a group chat and it's enough for us.
I can’t be in no clingy relationship with anyone I’d get annoyed way too fast. You’re going from someone I want to be around to a fucking job I want to clock out of out.
I think one of the most interesting things about Chloe in this movie is that she has an almost unhealthy obsession with Noah and Elle staying together. Like she really pushes him about it. And based on what she’s going though with her parents I think that Noah recognizes how unhealthy the relationship would be with Elle at the time too. It may not be that deep but I think it would be cool. Also another issue with Chloe is I think the actress just has more chemistry with every character than they have with each other XD
I look forward to the official Bad Movies and A Beat EP with hits such as 1. Brooding Hot 25 YO Teenager 2. Blame M Night 3. Home Skillet Biscuit 4. What is that WIG? And my personal favorite 5. I wanted to turn it off but the song was good
i just got to the part where the lunchbox is found and Lee's reaction makes me feel like he placed it there and was gonna use the list to hold over Elle's head. and tied with what Kennie said about him being the actual bad guy in the movies, I can roll with this as a theory wheeze
Yeah I was thinking the third act conflict was she would catch him keep on adding new things to the list so they never actually finished it and try to keep her spending time with him all summer until the last possible moment before they literally had the physically leave for school
Marco hitting Noah is the Jacob kissing Bella jumping the shark moment, another instance of fans preferring the secondary pairing over the main one and the author descending down from on high to correct the flow of time into the intended timeline. Also, a reenactment of the 2nd's movie ""climax"" in which Marco taunts Noah and Noah doesn't punch him showing he has grown, only this time instead of a taunt it's a punch.
Me: how many kissing booths are they going to make?! Also me: Imagine having to kiss your ex for a movie no one asked for. Anything for the bag tho right?
@@nanamimomozono4146 yeah, Elle and Noah's actors dated in real life. I think they broke up before filming the 2nd movie but it might have been after filming it.
@@trianenopenottrian9108 eh Hollywood is Hollywood, and you never really know. Celebrities do this shit all the time so who knows, but anyways, at the end of the day, none of our business.
Elle doesn't want Lee to be mad about her going to Harvard, but yet is mad when he finds a new friend who's going to the same school as him, which might ease the pain of not having your best friend there????
Everything you said about not having a whole identity based around your relationship with another person is exactly why Twilight was so bad. The definition of codependent and having no goals outside of your significant other which is why it’s so disturbing that young women still see these codependent relationships as cute.
The bit about building a life that's not your own is really good advice. I almost suffered for a six year degree for my mom and I ended up suffering another six year degree but for myself
As a Teen™️ Who survived a toxic relationship, I really liked the messages in relation to codependency. I haven't seen the movie because I haven't read the book yet and that's how I roll but I appreciated the way you explained this.
I get that they grew up together, but do Elle and Lee’s friendship rely only on that ? Cuz I don’t remember him ever doing something for Elle (except trying to stop the mic in the second movie) 😭 What kind of best friend is he
they’re terrible friends to eachother in my opinion. lee acts as if he owns her and i feel like they’re only friends bc the friendship is all they know and are used to
@@beafckinlady Yeah, it's a friendship that's on nostalgia life support. It would die in two minutes if they pulled out the needle to the nostalgia drip.
the thing you've been saying about boundaries and opposite sex friendships is really relieving to hear. men and women can be friends, but constantly tiptoeing boundaries like that is just disrespectful to someone's relationship. i was trying to explain this to some guy friends the other day and i felt like i was going crazy, so thank you lol
🤣🤣 I'm just being dumb lol. But I honestly can't believe how popular this movie franchise has become. I really hope they don't make a part 4, but knowing Netflix, it's inevitable 😭
@@emilyau8023 I miss the umbrella academy so damn much. Netflix filmed 2 movies of this shit at the same time but are taking years to film other stuff or straight up canceling them.
I went to an Ivy League and those admissions people hunt you down. Especially if you’re out of state because your tuition is like 4x as much as in state. They have every number associated with you: you mom, your grandma, your cousin that lives on the others side of the country. That’s probably the most realistic thing about this movie
Yep...but apparently it only matters if Elle breaks the rules. And then she has to 'fight' for this godawful friendship because of it. Staying for a codependent, honestly emotionally abusive, friendship like this - where Lee is constantly lashing out at the slightest offense and demands constant attention, time, and priority - because they have fun with games and dancing and have a history is NOT IT. She should have cut him off completely.
@@morley364 Right. The very first thing that needs to happen if your friend says you "need to fight" for your friendship is ask, "What's the opposition?" Like, honestly, what is the threat against the friendship that you need to attack? If the only threat is your friend's insecurity, that ain't anyone's battle but his; he's the only person who could possibly defeat it. Under no circumstances is it okay to demand his friend sacrifice themselves on the front line.
I live for kennie’s videos honestly. She always has something interesting to say and the comment section is always nice to read because it isn’t filled with kids posting repetitive memes.
Dylan is in Trouble did a movie commentary of this movie, and I need y'all to do some type of collab (if possible) because y'all provide the best commentary of the most ridiculous movies!
Seriously! The only people colleges/universities 'chase' are the sports players I think and that's only because they make bank for the school. And even then you'd have to be extremely talented for them to bother doing that
Calling it now: Kissing Booth 4 is going to be the newly adult characters shown at the end hosting a kissing booth for charity or for a class reunion. Noah and Elle get back together after Noah breaks up with someone from his current group of friends and/or after Marco shows back up for a concert he's performing and tries for Elle again. Lee would have relationship trouble with his gf again or some misunderstanding only to reconcile by the end. Everyone else in the immediate vicinity gets sucked into a new toxic whirlpool, but this one with featuring slightly more adult themes. That being said, thank you for the breakdown of this series because I don't have the patience to watch these movies for myself.
*Lee and his girlfriend’s misunderstanding/conflict would be resolved by finding out she’s pregnant. This could possibly be the cause of the conflict as well(eg. She’s hiding doctors appointments and doesn’t want to tell him yet and he thinks she’s cheating)
When I was a middle European child, I literally thought that's what Americans are like. The toxic relationships with no communication except for one liners I saw on badly dubbed movies Saturday mornings.😅😅😅
Girl i have lived here my whole life and let me tell it is, for most of them ,and when you or the majority who know better point it out to them they get mad 😂👌
I still don't know how Elle had all this time to party, do a dance dance contest, visit Noah, and have enough time to study and get accepted into Harvard smh
I know this is an old video, but, my parents got divorced when i was little, and my mom isn't always fit to raise a kid, let alone two. i'm really glad i have creators like kennie to teach good life lessons and show me what emotional maturity looks like in my formative years (im 16), given that i dont really have anyone else in my life to do it. thank you kennie
Funny story, I got into Berkeley and UCSD, the counselor from Berkeley called and asked when I would finalize my decision and I told him I was torn and wasn't sure I wanted to stay home in the bay, he scoffs and says, "so let's compare lol no you're coming to Berkeley" 🤣 I was like okay then.
I had a friend who almost got into Harvard. They only contacted her for the final interview, but they never were blowing up her phone like in the movie. I don't think they even showed the interview sessions in the movie 🤔
What gets me is that she went through all these prestigious admissions, which presumably also include essays, interviews, letters of recommendation, ALL that... but NOW she has to decide _why_ she's going? Not even an inkling of what she wanted to do? Aka the NUMBER ONE question that reoccurs in nearly EVERY SINGLE college application?? The privilege is unreal
I’m 13 and when I was watching the movie I didn’t think anything of Elle and Lee’s friendship. For some reason I thought it was normal and that Lee just missed his friend. It wasn’t until I went online and heard people calling him childish then I realised he was. I finally realised their relationship was kinda toxic. So yea I don’t usually comment lol
"If one of you don't look at each other as friends, than you're not friends" OOp. That got me a bit shocked but its true. Unforunately. No friendships where someone liked me more than just a friend ever lasted to be honest.
I actually thought that the guy best friend would get into a relationship with the Berkeley guy and come out, but I forgot that this is the kissing booth so we can’t have nice things. Also were Elle’s parents or little brother even mentioned in the previous movies? They just came out of no where.
My best friend and I have been friends since kindergarten (we're in our early 30's). We're both Malaysians, she moved to Singapore 10 years ago and I've moved to Japan. While I miss her a lot, I can't imagine us being joint at the hips. Elle and Lee's (whatever their names are) friendship is so freaking toxic.
Message to the youth: it's okay to cultivate your own dreams and goals outside of your friendship circles. At the end of the day you're the one who has to pay your bills.
I can see what you mean about Chloe, but if Noah didn't place any boundaries with her, she's not crossing any. I can understand thinking that she's crossing what would be normal friendship boundaries, but some people are just like that and I'm not going to blame her for crossing boundaries that Noah never set. That's some blame the woman shit to me.
Especially since the same never seems to said for Marco who ACTIVELY pursued Elle, knowing she was dating, and they KISSED. And in this movie is _still_ pulling the same shit. But everyone is like "UwU he's so handsome. Too good for this movie." I smell double standards
What I like about him being the one breaking up with her is that he is considering how he effects her and her happiness and independence. But in real life I haven’t had many experiences if any at all where I’ve met someone who is consciously aware and considerate of whether they’re having a healthy impact on you or those around them. AND AT THE SAME TIME IS WILLING TO EITHER PUT BOUNDARIES IN OR END THINGS WHEN THEY REALISE ITS NOT WORKING OR HEALTHY. It’s usually only ever but we have to stay together because I love you. Even if they realise they’re detrimental to your wellbeing. So that’s why I like that HE broke up with HER. Because it could also show the younger audience to be considerate of that type of thing and that love does not override their well-being
The ONE thing I could give these movies in regards to its narrative is Noah's character development. The person he was in the first one and this is almost night and day. It blows my mind actually.
This one was definitely more refreshing. I had a soul crushing breakup a couple months ago. It came up when I had been discharged after a suicide attempt, so it completely broke me apart. It took a lot of love from myself *towards* myself , finding new people, becoming more confident, giving time to myself, to move forward, to forgive myself and realize what the relationship truly was. The movie gives a great message towards the end. And I wish more realize would see that loving yourself is infinitely more important than loving someone else.
Me and my ex just broke up last night. I love him so much and he loves me, but it was so hard trying to see each other when he is working and enlisted in the military and I just started my freshman year of college. We hardly talked, our breakup and me giving his stuff back was the most we talked this week. I love him so much and this hurts so much, and the sucky part is he is a good guy, he is such a good guy and I don't blame him, we barely talked as it is and it would've gotten worse after he left. All I know is I'm gonna focus on me, and hopefully become a better person. I kinda have hope he'll come back to me later on after we get situated but I won't hold on to that hope
What I hate is that the "which college should I choose?!?" has no real lasting stakes. If you are supposedly so close and have such lasting bonds with these people, then is should be easy to not see them every single day for a few years. Personally, I would change my plans if someone in my family was actively struggling and needed my help, if I had to take care of an elderly family member for example, I have, and will be willing to set aside my own wants for that, but that's a real adult choice that I had to weigh and figure out. Real life topics like death, sickness, or poverty will never exist in a squeaky clean upper middle class movie like this, where the worst thing someone can do is be above a size 6, not be driving this year's car, or god forbid forget a childish promise made in crayon.
More young people need to see that getting together in highschool and staying together forever is not something that is guaranteed or even something you should aspire to. My parents have been together since Middle school, but that's not something I expected to happen to me at all. I'm 36 and still single, but even though my parents have been together and married forever they always taught us that we need to focus on what we want in life not what man we can find and marry.
So many solid life lessons coming from this beat but "some people are lessons/just because people were there doesn't mean they have to stay" is the one i really needed to hear rn so thanks :) also the final look is just incredible i love the gold eyeshadow!
@@sofiaa5255 Here's what I'm saying, since Lee is so clingy and wants to hang out with Elle all the time then he should have asked his parents to pay for her college. He's rich andddd she wouldn't have to work hence more time to spend with him.
They really need to show this in high school, in college, job training..I don't care, people need to hear these unrelenting truth bombs. Good on KennieJD for being able to articulate these important points so well.
Noah's development comes out of nowhere. In this very movie, he tries to drive marco off the road because marco agreed to do something to make Elle happy after he refused. Then, only a few minutes before his development moment, he purposefully spikes a ball into marco's face out of jealousy and bruises him. And yeah, I count embarrassing marco by calling out his crush in front of a crowd as being an asshole too. It's funny because in the first movie, elle says Noah doesn't start fights but he continues them. The opposite is true here. Noah was violent first every time, but the one time Marco was violent first (if you count the spike ball and the punch as separate situations), suddenly Noah was too mature for that?
It’s funny how this series makes Noah progressively better over time and Elle worse. Any time the audience has an issue with his behavior it’s erased the next movie lol. Abusive, scary anger in first is gone by second movie. Sketchy, cheater behavior in second gone by third. Now Chloe is just a supportive girls girl and their relationship isn’t inappropriate at all. Yet Elle is still telling Marco to come slide after work lol. Also Kennie your Ep is amazing and full of bops with “my favorite mess” being my favorite. Also if anyone plays Embarrassed and Sabotage back to back, thank me later.
Wish I'd had that advice growing up. I always ended up doing what other people expected of me and rarely ever did things for myself. Clung to people who were proximity friends(or seasonals as I like to call them) which landed me alone and directionless. While before I felt awful now I feel...content? Because there's no one pushing anything onto me and its nice(and a little scary) to do things for myself. No more begging for "friends" to pay attention to me or sacrificing what I like and my identity to please others. Some days are more difficult that others since it's so hard wired into me to please everyone and bend to their wills but I like it. One example is someone telling the they didnt like the new wine colored extensions I'd put in my hair and said the other was "better" in such an..."my opinion is incredibly important so you should listen to me" and I almost did. But then I thought, why does her opinion matter? And who is she to tell me this in such a disrespectful manner? And that was really really cathartic for me. Sorry for the long comment I just wanted to talk about it. Thanks Kennie.
@@Mysassafrasroots Thank you so much! I wasn't expecting someone to read my long comment! Finding and standing up for myself has been so hard but so enjoyable! My childhood friend lives in another country and we still find time to call each other on ft and send memes and sometimes on college breaks we even see each other. Also, my 5 year relationship was never in second place to that friendship or any other. Your friends being jealous of your relationships, other friends, needs, and life aspirations is a terrible thing. Friends support each other even when it means giving them space. Lee seems do immature.
Kissing booth 3 being the best kissing booth movie is like as the good sis Veronica Sawyer said “being the tallest dwarf” and with that being said imma go relisten to the Heathers musical.
I watch this video not only for the dose of the garbagio and Kennie’s sarcasm but for the ted talk about “don’t make decisions based on anyone’s opinions on how your life should be but your own”. As a child of an extremely opinionated dad (out of good intentions, I know) who is absolutely certain that I wouldn’t succeed as a MUA and should go be a translator or (his new idea) paint dead people’s faces, this TED talk reassured me.
So about that flash mob scene, a lot of people I've seen react to this say she should of done the dinner with Noah. In my personal opinion, and this could just be me, but she didn't know about the dinner but she did know about the flash mob. My guess is she would of included Noah in it except he obviously doesn't like the list thing. So since he's the one making it where she can't have him involved in the bucket list, and he's the one that sprung it on her without knowing if she had plans that night, that was on Noah, not Elle. Elle had a prior obligation that she had planned and worked on for weeks and then had Noah spring that on her and get butthurt when she left to do her obligation. Sorry for the long ass comment. Just basically I think Elle made the right choice and Noah needed to go suck a nut on that part.
Exactly what I thought! I know they have terrible communication but dang you would think Noah would've known that Elle was busy that night since she's been planning that flash mob etc for a while. Just shows how gOoD they are together...

Her essay was literally “I have no idea what I wanna do or who I wanna be but I would like to steal the personality traits of these random people”
Y'know, something I just noticed about this franchise (and I never even thought that these movies were worthy of any analysis from me) is that, no matter how hard they tried to show to us that Elle and Lee were best friends, they never ACTED like best friends.
Facts.
So accurate!!

My best friend and I went to different universities. She also ended up teaching in Korea while I went to Japan.
Weird thing is ... we're still friends. It's odd, I know, but strangely enough, doing different things with our lives hasn't broken up our friendship.
I think that that is the normal and healthy friendship everyone need,
Like I've known my best friend since I was 8 years old and even though we don't see each other that much any more because we went to different schools and then faculties, we still have that kind of connection when it feels like we were together only yesterday when in reality it's been months since when we last met, does that make sense?
@@Ru-yi9lt
It makes sense.

Noah pushed marco go karting and hit him in his face with a volleyball 🩸 🏐……WHAT CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT!?!??!?🤣🤣💀
I know this is an old video, but,
my parents got divorced when i was little, and my mom isn't always fit to raise a kid, let alone two. i'm really glad i have creators like kennie to teach good life lessons and show me what emotional maturity looks like in my formative years (im 16), given that i dont really have anyone else in my life to do it. thank you kennie
I guess she applied undecided everywhere

Too good for this movie."
I smell double standards
Yea it seems like that’s just what their friendship was 🤷🏽♀️we’ve never seen Noah express discomfort about it
What I like about him being the one breaking up with her is that he is considering how he effects her and her happiness and independence.
“Dress up like Mario Kart characters”
“I’d be Kirby”
Kirby is SSB!
I died laughing when she said that 🤣🤣 Good idea for a play fight area in those obstacle course places.
I was looking for this comment 😂
Same, I was just about to comment this hahah. I'd dress as Dry Bones tho
Also how would you cosplay as Kirby?
It’s just a circle with oval feet??????
This one was definitely more refreshing. I had a soul crushing breakup a couple months ago. It came up when I had been discharged after a suicide attempt, so it completely broke me apart.
It took a lot of love from myself *towards* myself , finding new people, becoming more confident, giving time to myself, to move forward, to forgive myself and realize what the relationship truly was. The movie gives a great message towards the end. And I wish more realize would see that loving yourself is infinitely more important than loving someone else.
I'm glad you're doing better 🥰😄

I hope everyone in this comment thread is doing okay ❤

Did ya'll see the scene at the end when Elle and Noah have that awkward encounter? Noah's dead eyes at the end of the stairs? Glorious! 👌🏿

So I’m confused…Didn’t she win money at the dance competition? So why is she working to get money for college? Did they just forget? 😂😂

That money wouldn't even cover half a year at an Ivy League in the US.
@@emilyau8023 But just a summer job will pay that bill? I don't think so. And I don't think she has a scholarship because... why would she? LOL

In regards to the moral of choosing a school, I'm looking into transferring to a new college rn after starting my freshman year last year during covid (had a really really bad experience, made no friends, desperately need a fresh start for my mental health's sake) and I've got a lot of pressure from friends and parents and whatnot abt what to do and choose, and that life lesson in there abt choosing your own path was really exactly what I needed to hear right now. Make your self-care time an OBLIGATION for your mental health.
This is all just a journey and everything will be a lesson. Either good or bad, a lesson nonetheless.
Also don’t be too pressed on wanting to have everything together right now, you’re going to go through so many changes and personal development that you could be in a COMPLETELY different direction 5 years from now.
Just make sure you have your best interests at heart. No one else can do it for you boo 💕
Also let’s be honest. No one knows what their doing.
We are all adults wandering around trying to be adults.
You can do it!!! Best of luck!!
I did that too because my former school was super boring and I changed my whole major. I'm so much happier now, u should definitely do it!
I took a gap year before I figured out what i wanted. Do consider that if you are really unsure.
I couldn't agree more! She and her friends had work so hard for weeks and she is supposed to ditch them for a surprise dinner?
Exactly what I thought! I know they have terrible communication but dang you would think Noah would've known that Elle was busy that night since she's been planning that flash mob etc for a while. Just shows how gOoD they are together...
“If one of you doesn’t see you as a friend, you’re not friends hon” Soo true. I had a work friend, well I saw him as just a friend, but he got upset when he found out I was dating someone else and we never talked again.
