Slight clarification on Steelix in HGSS: Jasmine will trade you her Steelix after rematching her, which takes all 16 badges. Beating Red is not a requirement. It's also possible to just straight up catch a wild Steelix- either in Mt. Silver, or in the cliff cave on Route 47 (the area with the 2 ladders.) You can guarantee a Steelix spawn in the cliff cave by using the repel trick, with a level 23 pokemon as your lead.

Rest in spaghetti, never forghetti. One of the most entertaining and enjoyable Pokemon channels, has been inactive for 7 months. See you on the flip side, guy.
As a fellow Pokemon collector, I do enjoy these videos. There's always going to be more stuff that I feel should have been brought up in the video (I don't think you ever mentioned the national dex Pokes you can get in some of the postgame areas of D/P/Pt for instance, and the Hoenn/Sinnoh Pokewalker areas were never brought up), but you already covered a ton of stuff as it is. There's also stuff that other people brought up (Steelix being in the wild in all Gen 4 games, the HG/SS Pal Park restriction being lifted), but here's a couple other things you may have not realized. First off, evolution stones. You said that you could just get them from the underground in Sinnoh, but that's only partly true. The Dawn, Dusk, and Shiny Stones can't be found there, the only way to get more beyond the few you find in the game is through high-level Pickup users. The other six stones can be found, but they're semi-version exclusives. Leaf, Water, and Moon are much more common in Pearl than in Diamond, and Thunder, Fire, and Sun are the other way around. Since the stones common to Pearl are used for a lot more evolutions (14 compared to 7), Pearl is by far the superior version in that respect. Then there's the matter of the Electirizer and Magmarizer. You can find one of each in Platinum and HG/SS, but they're completely absent from D/P aside from one very stupid, obscure method. If you have FireRed in the DS and encounter a wild Elekid with it, it will have a 50% chance of holding the Electirizer in Diamond and only a 5% chance in Pearl. Same goes for LeafGreen/Magby/Magmarizer with the opposite percentages. It's pretty dumb, and that's probably why they made Electivire and Magmortar gifts with passwords in Battle Revolution. (Only in the US and Europe though, there's actually no codes for them for any other region, including Japan). And have fun when you get to the Gen 5 collection video, because those items are even stupider in those games. Those and the fossils, actually. Be prepared to do a lot of research on how Join Avenue and Funfest Missions work, let alone the White Forest. I consider myself quite knowledgeable on almost all things related to Pokemon availability methods, but I still don't actually know if the contents of that forest are randomized when you start the game or are set by some controllable factor, and I have no idea what decides if your forest spawns any water in it or not (which is needed for a few Pokemon).
About gen 5. there is only one pokemon for each stone (except the dawn stone) In black and white. You also only get one of each stone. So if you caught the other 2 monkeys in your game, you can't evolve them until black 2 and white 2 with join avenue. Or you could reset your game until you beat 2 gym leaders and enter Celestia city which is where you get the leaf/fire/water stone. For thease replaythroughs, you need to choose the other 2 stones and put them on pokemon to trade them. The other stones are pretty easy if you have the guide or bulbapedia. In the sequals, it is going to be a long run since they expanded the unova pokedex to include old pokemon. And if you want to do national. Prepare for the transfer system! No Items! No HMs! just old pokemon
Actually you can get evolution stones through dust clouds in caves. There's no way to control which ones you get, but it is possible, I did it myself. I'm also not sure what you mean by "there is only one Pokemon for each stone". Leaf has Exeggcute and Pansage (and Gloom/Weepinbell/Nuzleaf through White Forest) Fire has Vulpix and Pansear Water has just Pansage (and Lombre through White Forest, all other evolutions can be caught in rippling water) Thunder has only Eelektrik Moon has Nidorina/Nidorino (White Forest only) Sun has Bellossom (White Forest only) ... I'll stop there, don't really feel like doing the others. But yeah, stone evolutions aren't really a problem.
What I ment was in the normal Unova Pokedex since in all of Black and White there is new pokemon until the post game. Thanks for the Reminder about the dust clouds but the chance that you get one is super super rare. You mainly get Drillber and Exadrill most of the time(and a one time use gem that increases a power of a move who's type the gem is( fire gem increases power of fire type moves. Or fire types in general). I was not counting the national pokedex in the original games. And White forest wants you to use communication features. Which I do not know how to use. I am just clarifing my one pokemon for each stone statement.

Player: How do you catch this Pokemon? Game Freak: It's pretty easy, every second Tuesday of September of a leap-year you talk to this npc that appears on Obtusia City's bar, he will give you the Mumbo Jumbo Medallion that will allow you to go to Timewaste Forest where every six hours a flower will appear but it will be invisible so you have to mash the A button around the forest to find it, around the grass tall areas too. Once you find it, you have to use the watering can and after another six hours the flower will have turn into a vine for 30 minutes. You have to be there and climb it before it withers down. It will lead you to a secret area were there is a square of terrain where there is a 1% that pokemon will appear if you have a Clefairy as your second slot Pokémon.

Eduardo Munoz i filled the sun dex too, it was so easy. I tried the gen 4 national dex. And its near impossoble (i transferred all to gen 7 so The sun dex was easy)
The only reason gen 7 was so easy was the lack of the national dex. Plus with a little patience you can get all of the more painful Pokémon, though that may be cheating.
Question:would the pokewalker make this any easier? The pokewalker is bundled with either heart gold or soul silver, and there are some pokemon you can’t find in those that you can catch in the pokewalker.

OH, Migration! That brings back memories. I, who had beaten the Elite Four in Emerald 40 times with the same pokemon because I loved it so much (Gardevoir, Groudon, Swampert, Kyogre, and others), migrated all my Gen III pokemon to Pearl using that painstaking park, beat the game, inevitably got bored, tried using an Action Replay and walking out of bounds inside a gym, somehow managed to save the game out there, and could never find my way back. Ultimately I deleted my save file. Now I have an empty Emerald cartridge with 1 pokemon left, no legendary pokemon, and an empty hall of fame. I'll emulate if I ever want to try those gen games again so I can play faster, but for now I need to see what the newer games have to offer, after Sinnoh. And maybe one day if I have a working Gameboy again, I'll try to catch new wild pokemon and beat that Elite Four one last time...
I really love Gen 4. You see, HeartGold/SoulSilver are my favorite games. HG/SS has the best soundtrack if combined with D/P/Pt, HG/SS are considered the best games, which they actually are. Cynthia is the best champion. Red is the best trainer. Sinnoh has the best legendaries. Lugia is my favorite, Giratina is 2nd. Gen4ForLife !!!!
Steelix is a 10% encounter rate in a specific area in Mt. Silver Cave. Put a Pokemon with Magnet Pull at the front of the party and it becomes 20%. Much easier!
>Tropius Exclusivity To understand this, we have to talk about DP. So, you've mentioned most of the weird ways DP can obtain Pokemon, but the actual reason for most of that stuff is simple - they wanted to cram as many Pokemon as possible into those two games. And it mostly works! You can't find the 27 past starters, and you can't find the 21 previous Legendaries in DP no matter what you do, but almost everything else is obtainable one way or another. Almost. There are three exceptions. You cannot get Tangela, because you cannot get Tangela you also inherently can't get Tangrowth, and you can't get Tropius. But this is something that was obviously intended. Tangela, Tangrowth, and Tropius were added into the regional Pokedex in Platinum, and are easily obtainable in the Great Marsh (well Tangrowth requires evolution but it has a simple evolution requirement), so it's clear that the idea was to make those three version exclusive to Platinum - and if you wanted them early, you could use a Gen 3 game to get them, no problem. Thus, they got their intended exclusivity, and all was good... ...until HGSS. Which were remakes of games with Tangela in them. So they couldn't get rid of it or Tangrowth in them. So Tropius is effectively the only game with that exclusivity still in Platinum, because later games undercut it.
Guess what Jrose, you thought getting to 100k subs by next new year's would be impossible. Well, here we are in November 2018 and you have 100k subs. Congrats man, you deserve it!
Just in case anyone's interested in playing "Voltorb-flip" or rather a game like it, there's "Minesweeper" available on any windows PC, preinstalled and ready to be played, just like Solitaire and stuff. I used to play that as a kid and I feel like I'm getting old, realizing that apparently someone doesn't know that game.

BikdipOnABus uhhhh did Harvard send you a free schollarship yet?
Leaf has Exeggcute and Pansage (and Gloom/Weepinbell/Nuzleaf through White Forest)
Fire has Vulpix and Pansear
Water has just Pansage (and Lombre through White Forest, all other evolutions can be caught in rippling water)
Thunder has only Eelektrik
Moon has Nidorina/Nidorino (White Forest only)
Sun has Bellossom (White Forest only)
Wait it's easier in HG/SS to transfer Pokemon? Poor guy probably wasted so many hours and days.
I love this video and the one that precedes it. Two of my favorite videos on RUclips. I think it may be because they inspired me to go on this journey myself, and after a few years i’ve finished. I’d really like to see you complete this series, it was really cool for me personally having to play through pokemon ranger to get manaphy and phione (i was lucky enough that the copy i got still had them available).
....In HGSS you can migrate as many as you want per day. Don't use Sinnoh games, Johto is better.

See this
Yeah. It's still tedious for all the other reasons, but it does help.
Ya, I honestly didn't know that but trading is just as tedious and I do most of my catching in Platinum. Still good to know.
This is honestly one of my favorite gaming related videos I've ever watched on RUclips, and I watch a fuck ton of RUclips. Props on this series as a whole man, glad to see these really blew up
Why do that crazy sidequest with Steelix in HGSS while you can just find it in the Cliff Cave (2%) and Mt Silver (10%) instead?
Nintendofan54322 The Challenge Guy or just go to iron island in platinum lol
Well that one works too, but you can also find it in DP as well
captainrex717 even victory road
Because I can't rant about 10% :P. (I accidentally cut that part out too, it happens in longer videos)

Where are you? We can hardly wait for the Gen 5 video. Hope all is ok.
He said he's working on Part 3
Can't you migrate from gen 3 to HG/SS as many times as you want per day? I've done it quite a bit and I'm pretty sure it works that way.
Respawned - Remy yep thats right
He talks about that in the video
I'm about three years late, but you can migrate an unlimited amount of times a day in Heart Gold and Soul Silver.
Gen 5
Edit thanks for all of the likes Maybe jrose11 will see it
erik knight God Gen V is a nightmare only because the bulk of the Pokemon you need to migrate, and while the one transfer per day limit isn't there anymore, the new minigame actually requires skill and can be tedious
I need the Shiny Charm so please!
I don't understand why this comment has so many upvotes but I love it
@@Goliath1337 same thanks all
Yes, but personally I want him to finish gen 4 first.
I take it, this series is as good as done. It sucks, but I really enjoyed this series. I will definitely be utilizing this as a source for my upcoming living dex conquest.
you kinda sound like mark hamill in some ways. love it!
HG and SS let you migrate as many times in one day as you can, it’s only D/P/Pt that make you wait 24 hours in between
You can really hear how angry he is throughout most of this video LMAO
I mean gen 4 has very lengthy methods of getting certain pokemon
You do know that you can migrate as many times as you want to heart gold and soul silver, right?
What.
Yeah you can and don't need to waste a month waiting for migrate days to pass by
Bro gen 4 remakes were announced before he finished this lol

Primos imediatos de 2º grau when do they close wii ware?
They will close it in the beginning of 2019, but you can only add points up until the end of this march.
Primos imediatos de 2º grau welp too late now

Does it mean that there is today no more way to get any legit mew on older games ?
Oh I absolutely LOVED the safari zone in HG/SS!! I loved teraforming the entire zone to how I wanted it and I liked it. I loved making it look beautiful!
These videos remind me of filling out sun and moons Pokédex. That politoad gave my nightmares.
Eduardo Munoz Same. There was a bug or something, right? I remember something like that
I think it has a 10% chance to be a SOS pokemon while raining on that Johto-styled park on the second or third island.
fernando98322 it was a super low sos chance from a poliwag. Ended up getting one for a dratinj after a few hours of nothing.
The remakes of Gold and Silver are still the only games that made me feel I can catch'Em all.
It’s been a year and a half. We’re still waiting for part 3
Still waiting for part 3!
I'm not sure about anyone else, but I'll wait patiently!
This is gonna be one heck of a video!
Question:would the pokewalker make this any easier? The pokewalker is bundled with either heart gold or soul silver, and there are some pokemon you can’t find in those that you can catch in the pokewalker.
Boorider7 You can find Spiritomb, Feebas and Munchlax easily in the very final stage in the PokeWalker. Which I must say, it's stressful but worth it.
Problem is how many Poke Walkers are out there that still work? I'd imagine they aren't easy to come by.
Adam Smith They're $40 at the least. There's a quite few left, but the main 25% are either lost or destroyed
Bernardo Jordan Same!
FlamingRedDeoxys Me and my brother had two of them I think I lost mine and brother lost his also which is funny asf because he sent his level 73 Garchomp in there only to have him die at least he bred like 10 eggs before he was gone so he's not completely forgotten.
wheres the new videos :(
Psilocyb yeah no new vids anymore
Gwarta Big really? Why not?
Yeah, I love his videos
He's working on it.
He hasn't caught every pokemon in Gen5 yet
You really worked hard! Great video!
I'm gonna throw this out there:

To be fair, the 6/day limit on migration is removed for HG/SS thankfully.

Heartgold and soulsilver were my first games in Pokémon and I’m so glad they are. I have lost count how many times I have replayed those games
Miss this channel a lot
As someone who did this a few years back, it took me over 300 hours to complete the national dexs!
Can’t wait for when he reaches gen 7 800+ pokemon but migration might be the best method for gen 7
well, gen 7 doesnt have the national dex, so it might even be easier
Steelix is a 1% encounter in the caves in heart gold / soul silver on route 47. He's only on the bottom floor, but he is there in the wild.
Steelix is a 10% encounter rate in a specific area in Mt. Silver Cave. Put a Pokemon with Magnet Pull at the front of the party and it becomes 20%. Much easier!
Hey JRose, I hope you continue to make videos. I loved your content! As did other people
>Tropius Exclusivity
To understand this, we have to talk about DP.
So Tropius is effectively the only game with that exclusivity still in Platinum, because later games undercut it.
you can get a steelix a lot easier in HG/SS, it’s found in the little mountainous room right before the safari zone i think at any time/date
Your little opening jingle is insanely catchy and I love it!

I remember doing this in gen iv off and on for like a year but since i didn't care about optimization I played through all 5 gen iv games once, HeartGold a second time, then Emerald for Solrock and the Regis. Every reaction he has in the video was basically mine when I was looking into it!
