it's like cars, you have the new features and you have old features that were once new but are now standard like AC. there are still good options for 75k or less pretty well loaded. right now a bass cat cougar with 2 12s, matching trolling motor, and 2 poles for 80k
Breaking News - Lockheed Martin has announced that they are entering the Bass fishing market. They are in development of a HUD helmet that a fisherman will be able to look anywhere in the water to identify bass. It will come with real time echo hearing so you can actually hear the fish's heartbeat increase as your lure gets close. They also purchased the priority rights to the Color C Lector system so the HUD will also determine which color lure the bass will bite. Price tag is $75,000. Meanwhile Raytheon is developing a FFS jamming system, that when deployed will jam any other boats FFS within a half mile. Price tag $82,000. General Dynamics has also announced an agreement with IKON boats to provide a defensive chaffe system that will disorient any other boat following during blastoff. After years of analysis, the defense companies have decided that it is more profitable to sell to bass fishermen than it is to the Pentagon.
I was wondering what was going on over at Blazer. I ordered a 625 in the spring of 2021. Ordered a dual console and after the 16 hour drive from Wisconsin to Ohio to pick it up it only to see that it was a single console. I was told that they would ship me the other console. Well they did finally almost a year later and after numerous phone calls and emails. Problem was it didn't even come close to matching my color scheme. Called and called email after email finally sent another one only to have the same problem. One of the reasons I purchased a blazer was a lot of folks said great customer service well that ship has sailed. Trailer carpeting is coming off of the bunks already. Sea decking in cockpit area is ripping up in areas as well.. Love the performance and look of the boat. I get a lot of compliments on it up here since nobody has one. EVERYONE asks for a ride since they are known to be fast and she is. I think my 2022 was the last year they came fully equipped with Jack plate graphs and power poles. My boat in 2021 base price was 65 K. With my upgrades to the electronics boat cover and deck lighting it was 76 k. The new ones base price is just the boat and ever little thing is extra. Darn shame because it was a high performance boat at a good price for us working folks. Now take out a home loan if you want to hop into a new rig
I'm a 52 year old framer and I'm in a 2001 18ft Triton. I'll keep mine and re power before I'll ever drop 100k on a boat. Nope. No way in hell can normal Americans afford these boats. Boat manufacturers should be ashamed
I just went to the permian basin boat and rv show in Midland tx. Its a ron hoover sponcered event at the horse shoe arena. They had a 20 ft vexus for $109,000, with nothing on it. Pft way to expensive. At the shop in odess ron had a 20 ft 1996 ranger 488 vs with a 200 venom johnson for 7000. I bout it for $4000 out the door. Ill bet it catches fish and hauls ass. Hope you guys can help me keep it runing once i get it home.
I love the over unders!!! I would like to see an over under on the tin fishing boats that the average guy is buying. Like on the alumacraft trophy and Lund pro v. Keep up the good work!
Whoever thought purchasing a fiberglass bass boat would be a rich mans hobby. $50,000 was a tough pill to swallow three to five years ago, now they are a $100k.
100 grand is ridiculous for a boat. That being said until people stop paying that much money for a new bass boat prices will continue to rise. I do not understand why one manufacturer list their product for 20-30 thousand more than the next. At the end of the day it is about fit and finish, they are all fiberglass and resin.
2001 Triton tr 20 treated like a baby with Evinrude Fict still runs great, very few scratches, every thing works just like new and only cost 26,000, sorry I'll keep what I got
These prices are how I ended up in a Nitro. Was all set to get a 20' Skeeter. But the price was out of my range once i had the option picked out. Got into the Nitro for almost half the price and havent had any issues with it yet.
Yup, I still catch plenty of quality Bass in my 1984 (that's right I said 1984) Champion. I fish out of a 40 year old 18' Champion with a 1982 Mariner 150. No Leaks, No cracks and she makes the rough water her B**ch. If anyone is interested she is for sale....$316,000.00 Firm no trades!! She is not pretty but the Bass do not know the difference. Thank you for all the great content, reviews, over / under and rants.
Overpriced.. I'm not saying nitro is good , but they seem to be one of the few you can get a reasonable price new. I own a 6 Year old skeeter. If I didn't have a boat now, at these prices I'd either fish on the bank or have a pretty nice kayak , or get an old boat that floats and runs.100k is absurd
Love video but the new normal on a $100,000 boat is ridiculous. I agree it is but the average Joe can't afford. When are manufacturers going to understand that ?
I have a 2010 20ft Bullet. Small Hummingbird fish thingy up front that pretty much just tells me the depth. It'll hit mid 80's on a good day with good water. I have no problem catching fish lol. I want to fish and go fast. Not pilot something with more EXPENSIVE electronics then a Boeing 737 Max. I paid 25k for it used in great condition and it still is. Who the hell can afford these 100k plus rigs?
Ive fished out of one once, i was surprised how well it handled and fished. Boat prices are insane, it's upsetting to think this is the new norm, i dont see it going down any time in the future....its all good though, im content in my Champion 196. Lets see some BLAST FROM THE PAST.
I have to rant more about this. I have a 3 bdr, 2 bath, 2 car garage, brick house, fireplace, den, living rm, dining rm, bay window, roofed patio, and a 6' cider block fence. I paid $120,000 10 years ago. In this market the tax man says it is worth $150,000. There is no fucking way there is $109,000 in that vexus. I mean for fucks sake 5 differnt crews built this house. It took like 3 18 wheelers worth of material. The boat is stupid over priced. I was lookin at the 15' bayliner for 17 thousand. It is out of control.
Man 100k+ is terrible for the little guy out here. I'll keep my '98 Triton and just update the electronics. Oh yeah, it catches as many fish as a new boat 😊

I thing that all boat are over priced. Yes i do have a Tin rig ranger but the boats and motors are still the same but 40,000 to 60,00 jump in price is what i don't like. i think the average fishing person can't afford the house payment and a mega big boat payment. If you do buy this boat I'll bet it will be an old truck. A turd pull a diamond. I do like the show, keep them coming.
This guy thinks everything but Suzuki, Gambler and Humminbird is shit, especially anything Mercury or owned by White River Marine. I do agree that everting is usually overpriced. Crazy expensive for a new bass boat.
Price points insane like most new boats currently! But damn those Vexus’s are sick! But no bassboat will ever be worth 100k let alone 80k to me. I don’t care how you slice it. I’ll stick with my clean solid 98 Ranger Comanche
Looks are Looks, but boats are all built the same way, they'll all get scratches by a pier, they all get nicks and gel chunks on the hull, can't see the prices.

Let's just start off by once again saying how the starting price IS, in and of itself absurdly unjustified. While $100K is the new "norm" due to the boom in fishing and the professional side of the sport since Covid, it's bullshit capitalism at its finest. I'll STRONGLY disagree with your assessment of it being Undervalued. Not a single bass boat is worth the asking price, not one. I for one will wait and see how these cookie cutter boats hold up over 10 years to see if they start falling apart like soooo many other brands who are no longer around. With all the Chop Gunning, I'm going to wager that the resale market will become oversaturated int he next 10 years and you will see these overpriced money pits selling for less than 10K because people won't be able to get rid of them fast enough.

I drove this boat and I am super impressed. Willie Nelson from Nixon's Marine in Pasco, WA took me put yesterday. The boat performs flawlessly
Love all the videos.
For context, that is anywhere from 1k-1300 boat payment dependent on interest rate. If that doesn't make you physically ill, I can't relate lol
