In 2021,I purchased a brand new 2022 ranger boat RT198P. The craftsmanship was not good. It took me 2 yrs to get the kinks out of it and finally, 2 years later I'm finally starting to have confidence in the boat. For example, I had a power pole fitting leak, uneven floors, over tighten stripped screws, trim sensor required replacement, the cooler sucks (Not insulated), livewell is not insulated, storage bin drain holes clogged with aluminum shavings, and bearing seal issues (trailer). Finally, 2 years and days of work and trips to the boat dealer later I'm finally starting to enjoy the boat and actually I like it now. I was so disgusted I ended up buy a brand new Phoenix 721 pro xp, which is totally awesome and the craftsmanship and pride is 100 percent better than ranger. I guess it was meant to be taking the ranger out on skinny water and the Phoenix out on big water. If I had to do it over again, I'd buy a Phoenix and that's it.
If I had tha money , and that's a if , I would only would pay that kind of money for a Gatortrax, seen there plant videos on how there built ,and there's are MADE well with heavy duty stuff , that would be only one that would be considered !!
WOW!!!!! My 2023 Dual Console Anniversary edition Z520R was just 2K more than the way you rigged that tin. and I have everything on mine, but I went to a dealer, not of the the Johnny World conglomerates.
Ranger needs to add packages to this rig. Where the aftermarkets get discounted thru ranger. The general public is hyping up aluminum latley and they are not as durable as a bass cat, phenix, ect..
I think there is a few reason for these larger 250 tin boats. 1 I think express has pushed the builders to have an option. 2 Tin is lighter, fishes shallower, handles abuse, offerers better fuel range, and for the professional anglers looking for a slight edge that may be a me reason. 3 this is a corporate one. Overall cost to produce, cheaper, and more Profit. Labor to build a fiberglass hull and materials has on through the roof. Epa regulations and requirements for all the chemicals and containment is increasing. I went and observed the final assembly of my Phoenix 819 and took a tour of their facility. It’s a 10 day process to build a hull and top cap. Metal is simple. Cut, form, weld and paint; and you can source it over seas with minimal quality control. Fiberglass has to be QC every step of the way.
I would not classify most aluminum boats as handling abuse. Just about every aluminum Vexus I see is cracked, just got back from being welded and cracking again or just got a new hill from cracking
Welded boats are so brittle. You would think aluminum hulls would take abuse but the reality is NO. Riveted hulls are much better for taking stresses though. Welds don’t flex and eventually it will crack if not the aluminum panels will.
Aluminum vs Aluminum, I'm buying a Vexus. But, seeing those prices (granted, there's a lot added for the views) I'd buy a Phoenix off my local dealers showroom floor cheaper than that build as it sits
What!!! My custom ordered 819 Phoenix, my color choices, padded deck, all Garmin, 24v force, 12” console, 2-10’s bow with live scope, precision mounts, 8’ power poles, Noco 3 bank, gatorhide trailer, 15” custom wheels with disk brakes, merc 200, custom cover out the door rigged taxs and all, 72,800. Granted the Ranger is only slightly longer and does have a 250, but hell no. I can buy a lot of crap for another 20k. Ain’t happening Ranger.
Can't change the price added by motor, trailer, and accessories because thats the same no matter what you put it on. Gets down to the price of aluminum vs fiberglass. Sad to say you don't save much on that anymore. Might as well go fiberglass now and take the added benefits of fiberglass over aluminum
Compared to a Z20 Pro Nitro the price of a Ranger . Alpha 208 appears high. I would have to have a specific need for an aluminum boat to pay that price.
I'm not Andy, but if I wanted the 250 and this style boat, it's really the Ranger Alpha, Vexus 2080, and the Gator Trax boat. Of those three, the Gator is the winner. Just because the Ranger hasn't been on the market long enough, so that could possibly change. But check out the Gator! That being said of the two that you mentioned would have to go with the Xpress tried and true, plus that package with the seadek is sweet.
Can't buy one for 63K anywhere. Time they add freight and rigging probably adds a couple thousand. Still have not seen one anywhere, but I know there is at least one pro running one and of course he loves it.
Paid way less for my lund 2075 pro v bass. I have owned cats, stratos, procraft, triton. My lund is the best boat I have personally owned. Cat would be a close 2nd.
Drove by Ranger factory yesterday on my way to Gaston’s for trout. They had 2 beautiful fiberglass bass boats out front however every inch of yard space was covered in ugly aluminum flat river boats and Hut shaped structures that looked like deer blinds. Gave me the impression that high quality bass boats are not a priority.
Dumb. Almost bought a new Skeeter ZXR21 for $79K out the door this spring. A pretty glass boat that comes with none of the over-complicated garbage (touchscreens, touchpads, etc.) but all of the baseline stuff most folks want. Basically $20K out the door less than this Tracker pop can with a Ranger sticker. I should add I’m a Ranger glass boat owner, and for most of my life a Ranger homer, but Walmart… err, sorry… BPS and Johnny are killing the brand.
Any tin boat is not worth 60 grand!! Tim boat should be bargain priced for people who are on a limited budget!! All I can think of is NASCAR!! You are pricing people out of fishing!! Will be back to bank fishing before you know it!! Look how many plastic boat they sell!! People have to decide to pay there rent or mortgage a food don’t leave much for 60 plus Tin boats no 18:49 bargains any where in fishing!! They will come down with their pricing or be gone! Johnny morris he will be the only one left standing! My 1980 Vexus, 20 footer with 150 Dual axle trailer, two 9’s an a spot lock trolling motor.39,000! Now that would be close to 60 grand now crazy!!!
The basic factory rigging is ridiculous and not what anyone wants. They'd be better off selling just the boat, motor, and trailer. I bought a new Harley Davidson Street Glide and so far have had to change the exhaust, seat, handlebars, mirrors, back rest and still going. Spending thousands to take it to where it needs to be. Same thing a person would need to do with this boat. Ridiculous!
I just don't buy anything Johnny Morris. Pretty simple. My next boat will be a used Stratos 201 and will love it. That's not saying that he's some crook or something, just saying that the people he has in place to run his stuff are. There is no aluminum boat that should be more than 40-45k brand new. No matter how nice it is. Period. I hope the insanity gets reigned in one day.
Skeeter FXR 20 with better pkg for same price with the rebate. But Johnny prices his boats cheap but no one is going to buy with his pkg and when you upgrade to what it should have then you are up to the 90k+.
how about over under on the bass cat cougar 203 hybrid sp package @ $79999

Ranger is a badged nitro, if you want the “ranger” engineering they are all at Vexus
Thats crazy, i just got an IKON LX20 with Garmin Package, Blades and 250 SHO for 95k, on clearance because it was a 2024 model.
If I had tha money , and that's a if , I would only would pay that kind of money for a Gatortrax, seen there plant videos on how there built ,and there's are MADE well with heavy duty stuff , that would be only one that would be considered !!
Xpress
Can you do an over under on the bass cat cougar SP with either regular hull or the 203 hybrid hull?
from seeing the boat before the recall the back of it has been done and the display was moved aswell.
Am sticking to my 320V Ranger...
Love my 2001 tr21,, she is fast and smooth, paid off, if I scratch it no bid deal. I’d stress out with a new 100k boat.
Waiting On And Ranger/Nitro Plant Tour
That’s absolutely insane.
WOW!!!!! My 2023 Dual Console Anniversary edition Z520R was just 2K more than the way you rigged that tin. and I have everything on mine, but I went to a dealer, not of the the Johnny World conglomerates.
So the Bob's jackplate was machined to look like a bass boat and was failing? Or the transom was designed to look "better" and was failing?
I own a Ranger rt198p. Mercury optimax pro xs 150 2 stroke and it stays broke down constant.
Been waiting for this one Ever since the alpha 208 came out was able to see one at my local Cabelas and man it was was a cool boat
I like a 198p if damn hull aluminum wasn't so thin
Let’s see an over under on a affordable boat like the Falcon Freedom 18 or the Triton 179 trx
@@evanshillcoxfishing7929 we could do that
I'll stick with my champion
I have an '05 Xpress X19 LE withh a 200 VMAX. Bought it new for 30k. Has every option they had then. Wouldnt trade it for any boat made today.
Was that bobs jack plate problem for the motor coming off
No, Bobs jack plates are very high quality, best on the market in my opinion.
Yeah I didn’t explain that very well. We heard stories that, in testing the 208 the motor and plate ripped off the transom
If we’re buying only a mass produced tin boat I’d take a Lund Pro V Bass/Muskie over this all day. Cheaper too
What would you expect from white river marine group, keep up good work
Ranger needs to add packages to this rig. Where the aftermarkets get discounted thru ranger. The general public is hyping up aluminum latley and they are not as durable as a bass cat, phenix, ect..
I love these videos could you do one about the Ulterra
Are yall going to make a video on Motorguide ceasing production?
try to get the boat bone stock and take to a diff company to put all that on, it should be cheaper over all.
whats your thoughts on the brp sell off of marine division?
@@ClaytonMcCarty was never a fan of the BRP Evinrude’s but I hated seeing them go.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Easy on my Nitro bro lmao. I would pay that for a nitro before I would a tin boat for sure. You guys are awesome and love watching your videos 🎣🔥
Aluminum vs Aluminum, I'm buying a Vexus.
But, seeing those prices (granted, there's a lot added for the views) I'd buy a Phoenix off my local dealers showroom floor cheaper than that build as it sits
I said 83k boy was I off. I think 63k is high for a aluminum boat..
HELL NO!!!!! if I’m dropping that kind of money on a tin boat I’m buying a gator track and then I have something.
This was my exact reaction! AND I'd have a LIFETIME boat...not a throw away tin can!
What!!! My custom ordered 819 Phoenix, my color choices, padded deck, all Garmin, 24v force, 12” console, 2-10’s bow with live scope, precision mounts, 8’ power poles, Noco 3 bank, gatorhide trailer, 15” custom wheels with disk brakes, merc 200, custom cover out the door rigged taxs and all, 72,800.

good video! give me a gatortrax or basscat
I thought it was a glass boat at 93K until you mentioned "tin boat"...
Buy a basscat pantera classic for that money. 50 less hp but probably the same speed also
Compared to a Z20 Pro Nitro the price of a Ranger . Alpha 208 appears high. I would have to have a specific need for an aluminum boat to pay that price.

That’s as crazy as spending $17 for a spinner bait. 😆
May as well get a Basscat for that price with the options you added. Absurdly overpriced.

Its a 20ft ve us with 250 looks identical to my new 2080
Tin boats bone stock should be $35k. Add the bells and whistles for another $15k. Tin boat rigged- $50k
There is no tin boat that's worth over 50k that doesn't have the name gator trax across the side.
Not a chance in hell! Damn you can get a Nitro 20footer for that!
Paying for the name
The only tin boat on the market worth buying at any price is GATOR TRAX.
Fuck no I’ll go fiberglass for that price
Might as well just buy the iconic. No way I would pay that for aluminum boat.
The Ranger Boat what's what you added on should be 63,000 dollars like it is is Johnny Morris junk
