So rad seeing both of you swapping licks and the Neil Peart playing a cooler in the dressing room is extremely unique beautiful experience - I got to play Broken at the Dimebssh a couple times -good choice Bill ! Great work Tim
I know that I’m three years late but I just have to tell you, you are my absolute favorite drummer of all time. The music that you have been a part of has completely change my life. Thank you very much for your gift of music.
Wishing I would've heard a little more from my childhood hero...Happy I got to see this other than the guest Herb you Are the Man,and God bless Primus!
Dude. I had played from 80 til 05. Katrina took my home and kit everything. I never did get to return to the kit. I had gotten custody of the kiddos. I chose to hold off as we lived in an apmt 15 years. Now they are grown and grad. Wouldn't you know my son took to guitar and so I tinkered a bit and fell in love with it. Been playing since 2018. I absolutely miss the drums though. Oh God I miss it. I hear so many playing these days and think , God I wonder where I'd be had I never stopped. Quarter century I lived , breathed percussion. The kid that broke all his pencil lead getting those nice double stroke rolls and paradiddles. Hahaha. Told to stop beating this or that. God knows the many bands but I will never forget the day I heard The frizzle fry album. I lived in Panama city at the time. I heard a boot cut from your radio show and my friends were saying ..This dude is like you. Wild and loves that funky clean hyper type intricate and passionate. It is crazy I am here speaking on a RUclips channel. Thank you man. You are amazing. And I've subbed to you. Bong water on console. I'll never forget that line. Hahahahahahah. I wonder if I can still play. I feel I can but I also feel my rust would need to be oiled a bit. Hahaha.
I am extremely jazzed to have found this video! This is such an amazing opportunity to get to hear you breaking down parts and ideas person to person with zero pretense. It's like being able to hang out after band practice and casually shoot the shit with one of the biggest inspirations to my drum playing. Thanks for doing this!
Wow herb I just found your channel 2 days ago but your interviews are truly interesting to me! My love for deftones is what brought me here. Primus has been a favorite of mine over the years and bill burr is one of the funniest guys out right now and he likes meshuggah haha! Too many things that I like all on one channel 😂
Ooh Bill Burr has a Tony Williams yellow Gretsch kit, nice! Hey Tim I met you during the seas of cheese tour and talked a few minutes about pork pie drums which you played at the time and your influences, you were a super nice guy and definitely a huge influence on me!
You are tied with Danny Carey for my biggest inspiration, and Bill Burr's comedy has lifted me through some tough times. It makes me giddy that you two know and respect each other.
I am so happy to live in the times when things like these are possible. Never thought when I was younger that all of these different legends could one day meet.
Hope Herb is having a healing closure to his career. I was abrubt, from the fans point of view. But your life if what comes first, Thanks for being the next best thing to Neil peart
Tim. Your old school fans are now pushing 40. And they are now just starting to to accept the reality of their "old man noises". Thank you for being you. best podcast ever. I want to see so much more.
Not alot of drum chats find their way to the Bannister Effect / Tipping point. Also i envy a generation that can learn with an electronic metronome in their ears. such an amazing tool for developing time that we didn't have previously. Metronome and patience Bill. Metronome and patience.
Excellent show, Bill seems to be a really cool guy, and it is my understanding that he is a pretty dang good drummer! But pretty good doesn't hold a candle to a world-class drummer like Tim! I caught Rush and Primus on tour a few times in the 90s, and there was certainly a mutual admiration and comradery between the bands, we could certainly feel it as fans! When Tim was talking about them jamming backstage, I would have to think that they certainly brought that out of the guys in Rush! I also saw Mr. Big with Rush a few times, and they had a really similar vibe going, you could just feel it, mutual admiration amongst camps!
Most I’ve ever heard Tim talk as 30 year fan
Lmao right? 🤣 can't wait to see him live in a couple days
Couple of very likeable gents! Great interview and banter👏
MY FAVORITE DRUMMER

That's why Herb is great. Doesn't over do the double bass. When he does it in Tommy the Cat it's so rad.

Never heard about this channel awesome God bless you dude🙏🏽
I’m so glad this man is still alive.
Two of my heroes. What a mashup. Awesome

Can't believe I've just found your channel.
You're a big inspiration musically, thanks! I plan on filming some Primus drum covers soon :)

Matt Beaumont and I have always enjoyed your playing since Fizzle Fry. My top three drummers. Peart, you, and Beauford.
