  • Tonight I will be going live teaching you how to prepare a photo for engraving on a simple white tile painted black. I will also be very descriptive on how to operate your machine to get results out of Da Big Gimping plug-in.
    Go get yourselves a box of 6”x6” tiles from Lowes or what not and then do yourselves a favor and pickup Da Big Gimping Plug-in for gimp.

    I painted a tile black - at 100 speed and 100% power you could barely tell a laser hit it.. of course i have a beginner xtool d1 (i think is either a 10 or 20) i have a feeling your channel might be for more advanced laser beam owners lol!

      Seeing this comment is a year old but tiles painted (white, then) black are pretty easy to engrave even on 5W diode lasers. Run a material test to find the sweet spot for speed and power combination and you are good to go.

      Yes, just invert the image.
