thank you SO MUCH to ryan, liz and the rest of the deer valley crew for such a rad day! i learned so much and got a seasons pass. only up from here! book your own private lesson here: www.deervalley.com/plan-your-trip/lessons/bike-lessons/private-bike-lessons
THIS is what it's all about. The Stoke was so high in this one and all those smiles are contagious. Love seeing the homies level up and HUGE shout-out to Liz!! She's the MVP 🙌🏼 You're killing it, Lucas!!!
Always love listening to an expert coach someone. Just the depth of knowledge and the little details she gives. Example at 3:16 and she talks about it immediately after, but she's leaning the bike in the corner and Lucas is turning the handle bars. Had to go back once she pointed that out and notice it. Sounds like a bunch of comparisons to skiing and road racing. All smiles here. Glad to see Deer Valley treat you so well. It's been almost 40 years since I've been there, would love to go back.
Just found the channel, I rode Deer Valley for the first time yesterday! Such a blast, you absolutely killed it for a “advanced” beginner! Keep crushing it
Happy to see you enjoying the MTB scene Lucas! You are so lucky to have trails like that in your backyard. You'll be clearing that wooden bridge gap in no time!
@@bgw9906 definitely! from a video production/entertainment perspective, the bike parks are nice because i can do several laps and i heard mtbers dont like watching climbing anyways so would be tough to make a video with just one downhill run!
That was great, Deer Valley is really dialing in the mountain bike experience and still building trails , what a great park . I am really enjoying watching your progression mountain biking . Let’s Go!
Good to see you on a bike its really a natural progression.. just like skiing you have to trust your skis to do their job. Awesome job. Next a really fun place to come too is Bentonville Arkansas
So stoked for you!! What a great experience! Being an avid XC Midwest mtb’r, that is definitely on the bucket list to help with my jumping and downhill skills!! Would you recommend a half day lesson or just get the most out of it and do a full day….? Thanks
thank you shawn! the lesson was so helpful. the half day lesson was awesome, but i do feel like a full day would be even more beneficial. it felt like it went by too quick!
Damn, that does look like a nicer bike setup than I'd have guessed. Feeling a temptation to head over to UT, been a few years but I am only an 8 hour drive away. Just have to decide if it is better to bring my 10 year old Kona or plan to rent.
When you got the rental.. did they size it for you and if so can you describe what that process is about.. I don't know anything about what size bike to get and the geometry..
i dont really know too much about sizing as each manufacturer has a little bit different sizing but i am 5'10" and i fall right in between a medium and large. i was on a medium for this lesson but the bike i have been using is a large. the bike felt a little small for me, but that has its advantages. in terms of geometry, again im not really the right person to ask, but something with a steeper head tube angle and more suspension travel might be positioned more for descending and bike park stuff where something that has a more shallow head tube angle and not as much travel could be seen more as both a climbing and descending bike.
@@LucasCatania17 i am there with you as i am just starting to learn about this stuff too.. even with the tire size.. i could see how having a smaller front tire would help climb hills but having a larger front tire could help with going down hills.. lots of things..

appreciate that steve! hopefully theres more in the future!
wow this is great- looks like so much fun. Next lesson is to forego the chairlift and climb! Ha! have fun Lucas enjoying the summertime content.
thanks man! i definitely enjoy the bike parks! heres an episode with climbing in it from last week: ruclips.net/video/G5xQtyDFugs/видео.html
I should add that climbing not only helps with the cardio obviously but helps tremendously with your balance over the bike. Wanna go here so bad-!

thanks man! been having a lot of fun. i heard bentonville is one of the meccas for mtb!
Props to you for picking up something new and progressing so well! Keep up the awesome videos. Does this mean we get a ski bike video in the winter? 🤣
Thank you grant! A bit scary but I’ve been having fun with it haha. And that would be epic!
Love DV! Will be riding this weeknd!
have fun!!
Man awesome content. That be my happy place skiing on the winters and MT Biking on the summers:) I need to move lol 😊
