I never owned Baja: Edge of Control but I used to rent out a copy from the library every time I could back in the day!

NFS The Run on the wii is a great hidden gem. Feels like an old Cruisn USA game and is completely different than its PS3 big brother.

For me also worthwhile mentions for rare and oldie gems are Project Gotham Racing, test drive 4, driver San Francisco, micro machines, need for speed high stakes, Toca 2 touring cars

One underrated car game I love is jeep thrills for the ps2, idk what it is about it but it’s so charming, and it makes me want to beat it every time I play it.

Well Forza Motorsport 7 is beloved especially now since Forza Motorsport 8 is out.
And DIRT Showdown is a fucking masterpiece.
Whoever's not loving it didn't play it.

RE-Volt Revenge Pro, Nfs Shit 1 and 2, Blur and Driveclub are absolute gems among racing games

All the post-Blackbox era Need For Speed games, all of them.
Project Cars 3.
The original Sonic Riders.
WRC3 and 4.
V Rally 3.
F1 2014.

I’d recommend Test Drive Eve of Destruction for the Xbox. I still go back to it from time to time. FlatOut 2 is also amazing.

Need for speed pro street
Smuggler Run
Destruction Derby, the original on PS1
Motorm4x Off-road extreme a pretty in depth offroading game with unlicensed knockoff truck with lots of upgrades to unlock, I think it's kind of obscure because you can't buy it anymore on steam for quite some time, put I had a lot of fun with it
Hydrothunder. Over the top Boat racing
Rush on the n64
