Many years ago, I had an aunt that died of pancreatic cancer. When I mentioned this to my doctor, he screwed up his face. He said that out of all the forms of cancer, pancreatic cancer was one of the worst.
Yes, it’s one of the worst forms of cancer. There’s been very little progress in terms of research and by the time it’s usually diagnosed, its too far gone. The survival rate is slim to none...almost always resulting in a death sentence.
@@infamous77x I am one of the 10% survivors . I am a 5 year 10 month survivor. I had the most aggressive form stage 2b adenocarcinoma. I don’t have a pancreas anymore and live with an insulin pump. As a result my spleen, duodenum, gall bladder a third of my stomach was also removed. I am blessed and alive.
I ike part where Joan Crawford tried to out act Bette Davis in whatever happened to Baby Jane but she couldn't pull it off , in the part in wheel chair where she paniced and was going around in circle. It was more funny than anything.
@@FactsVerse Thanks I knew Joan Crawford was very well trying to out do anything whole movie really, She did her best at the beach where she said she was dying. Now that was more real than the others. (:
@@esands36 thank you, it absolutely destroyed me. It's just the worst disease, most people go from seemingly healthy to dead in a couple months. My dad lived a year with it, I am thankful we got the extra time with him, but I will never be the same.

My husband died of pancreatic cancer when he was 74. His siblings are 81, 91 and 94. Go figure. Yes, by the time it’s symptomatic it’s almost always stage 4. A terrible disease.
I strongly believe that the following are key contributors to developing pancreatic cancer ---> alcohol, smoking, poor diet, and stress. Eliminate these 4 contributors and you'll live a longer disease-free life.
My mother who died aged 52 didn't fit any of your criteria and its not known to be genetic either. I heard somebody else say that basically it's like an unlucky lottery which we're all capable of 'winning'.
@@stephenchappell7512 There's always exceptions to the rule, but trying to eliminate the 4 that I've mentioned will drastically improve your chances of keeping the Grim Reaper away.
Look instead of using medical budgets worldwide to scuk up to some transmitted communicable disease you should be doing pancreas replacements etc. Leslie Dornfeld a brilliant internist LA and my own internist died in his thirties of the disease. So did his wife or perhaps she committed suicide in consequence.
What the Hell get this crap off here who gives a care about who died in the 1800 hundreds. Half of these damn people nobody knows. What happen to Alex Trubeck. How disrespecful!!!!! Go away!!!!

It's one of the most aggressive cancers with 10% survival rate if it's malignant
10% for those who can live for 5 years with it but sadly definite remission of it is still out of reach

@@kerri759 stage 2b is still considered early so total removal of the pancreas is the best option
It's necessary to remove all the adjacent structures because it's highly infiltrative and it's the type to get cured with chemoradiation
Out of these actors it would have to be Alan Rickman.

Part of the problem with Pancreatic Cancer, it’s often too far along for effective treatment by the time it is diagnosed.
